The epitome of fine dining, the Sage Room at Caesars Republic is a place where great memories are made and will be treasured for years to come. We arrived at 5pm for their Early Bird Special, and were warmly greeted at the door by Frank, their elegant and gracious GM. Jeremy, our friendly and prompt waiter, seated us at a table that featured a 180 degree view of the lake while Carlos provided backup with huge smiles and the most pleasant demeanor imaginable. Amazing service, easily some of the best I've experienced. The Early Bird Special includes a soup or salad and a dessert with an entree, making it one of the best deals on the lake. My wife had an AMAZING butternut squash soup (a special that night), while I had a classic Caesar salad with anchovies on the side. I ordered the prime rib which arrived a perfect medium rare and full of flavor with the charred edges I adore, while my wife's Chilean sea bass had a fantastic tajin seasoning that highlighted the crust of the fish that enveloped the moist, meltingly delicious meat underneath. For dessert we had the huckleberry gelato and an oven-crisp crème brûlée. Do yourself and favor and join Frank and his team for dinner on the lake. The restaurant sits high above the lake, and the views of Lake Tahoe are simply incredible, especially around sunset. The food is always fantastic--perfectly prepared steaks, great sides, and a classic steakhouse experience that never disappoints. But what truly keeps us coming back every year is the service. We have been fortunate enough to have Teddy as our waiter almost every time we visit, and he is outstanding. Teddy is professional, attentive, and has that rare ability to make the entire dining experience feel special without ever being overbearing. I have been to the Sage Room several times. The service is always great, but I have had mixed food in the past. I went at the end of November 2025 and the whole experience was excellent. We went for my friend's birthday. Frank the GM was very friendly, helpful, and just delightful. Anthony's waitering was top notch and the banana's Foster delightful. I split the poke and the shrimp and scallops with my friend. The sear on the shrimps and the scallops was perfect making them flavorful. I would eat either of those again. It was dark when we were there, but you could see some of the Christmas lights of Heavenly Village. read more

Such a great place with super friendly employees, a prestigious vibe from the top of a property, and overall great experience. We did not eat here however, the employees pointed out their best dishes, spent a ton of time with us promoting their brand and great offerings, and made us feel welcomed the entire time. We had an amazing first dining experience here last night. The ambiance is great and I'm sure views are wonderful when it isn't dark out like it was for us. Service was A+ all around. Drinks never went empty. We got complimentary warm bread and butter to start and it was very yummy. We split all dishes. The Caesar salad was huge even split in two. The 20oz bone in NY strip was delicious and plenty big enough to share. My only complaint about the au gratin potatoes is that it needed to be double the size for that price. It wS tasty but not great, seems a little undercooked. The table side bananas foster is $30 for two but worth every penny! This review is LONG overdue! We have been coming for quite some time. We made reservations for our anniversary and again they reminded us why we keep coming back. We were greeted warmly and seated at a window table overlooking the lake and the beautiful sparkling lights. Just love the view! The service was on point, consistently great like always. We both ordered filet mignon with two sides, gnocchi mac and cheese and the potatoes au gratin. Everything was cooked to perfection, super flavorful, exactly what we wanted. My last minute birthday Tahoe trip leads to no reservations lined up, but we called and they were happily able to accommodate our party of 8 one hour before closing time! With the expectation to make dinner brief, they made us feel so welcomed and comfortable, even seating us in the corner next to the window to enjoy what likely was the most exclusive view in the restaurant. I've heard about place and Wolf was fully booked so I decided to dine here. First, the hostess girl who sit us was very nice and friendly and she sat us at a corner window table and had the spectacular views. We started with half dozen of oysters and 2 glasses of Sauvignon Blanc ( they didn't have a good one by glass but it was ok), but the oysters were good so we ordered another half dozen. Next we both had wedge salad which had candid bacon and it was delicious. For main, I got the Wagyu which was so tender with Japanese steak sauce on top, just like the ones I was having when I was just in Japan a week ago and my date had rib-eye which was also tender and flavorful surprisingly because rib-eye tend to be a bit tough and we also had a side of truffle gnocchi, even though I didn't taste or smell truffle, it was still delicious with some crunch in them. For dessert we had crème brûlée which was as lemony and refreshing. From the servers to the manager everybody was very attentive great service. This is a spectacular location with an impossibly amazing lake view (thru brown tinted looking windows unfortunately). The drab '90s era tired interior though needs a massive sparkling refurbishment $$$ (the whole damn property does). The Sage Room is a legendary restaurant at Tahoe, but it is not in the original storied location here. The service is top end old school great, though a bit cadaverous. There are top seafood choices. The $$ prime rib was an over-salted mess all but inedible (was it the au jus??). The garlic mash was an uninspired bit of drywall glue. There was nice mushroom ravioli and a great wine list. This hotel is not what it was - part of a huge corporate conglomerate now. They aren't fooling anybody, and might start with new carpeting, high investment renovation, and less parking fees. Maybe should take some pointers from the Peppermill resort down the mountain. read more

First time dining here. Our server Jericho and helper Juan were very attentive and friendly. Hubby and I shared a salmon w/puree sweet potato & broccolini plate. We also had lobster bites. Everything about this place WAS MAGNIFICENT!!! The service the food all of it. The views were stunning. Truly a great dining experience. Amazing birthday dinner at the Sage Room last night. My wife and I had been to the 19th bar several times over the years for a cocktail and an appetizer but we never had eaten at the restaurant..... The Sage Room moved up from the casino floor and took the place of the 19th bar and lounge a few years back so we decided to celebrate a friends birthday and we had a great experience. We got a table by the window with a great view and the rest of the evening was as good as the wonderful view. I ordered the filet mignon,loaded baked potato and a caesar salad. Filet was cooked to a perfect medium rare, seasoned just right and had an interesting bernaise like sauce on top- 10/10 Great steak, great flavor which is what you expect when you pay 75$ for a steak, it better pop in your mouth with every bite. Baked potato was fully loaded with bacon, cheese sour cream and chives, overall very good, didn't have the olive oil and salt rubbed skin so it was a little dry and i didn't eat the skin ( my favorite part) because it didn't have any seasoning- 7/10 Caesar salad was very good , had tomatoes in which is different but dressing was really good and i enjoyed it 8/10 My wife and her friends had the New York steak special with camelized onions and blue cheese crumbles and the Filet mignon with chimichurri and prawns , both meals came with garlic mashed potatoes. The girls raved about all of it, i tried the New York and the blue cheese and onion on top of the steak was bright and flavorful and very tasty, i prefer a savory steak and a strong blue cheese is not something i would personally choose but it was very tasty and the girls loved it. My wife loved the chimichurri filet, the mashed potato were "super creamy dreamy" and the scampi style shrimp were also excellent. Hi, I would like to share with you my experience with the Sage room. Waiter was nice and sweet. But our salad had a dead fly in it. And my dessert spoon was dirty and still had a chunk of left over food on it. He was aware of it but all he could do was apologize. I'm kind of disappointed because I came here before because everything was so clean and food was delicious. Also they couldn't find my reservation on open table which I booked a few wks ago. It's a spectacular view of Lake Tahoe. The restaurant is nicely decorated. Unfortunately, the food has lost the quality it use to be. The Cesar salad tastes like it was made in the morning and had been sitting in the refrigerator and then I had to ask for anchovies. The crab cake was delicious but the side of puréed corn looked like vomit and tasted too sweet. They used to make your spinach salad in front of you. Now they don't even offer it. Waiter said they have a new chef and he'd didn't like it. Really ?? You have to ask for bread. The steaks and sea bass are still good quality. Side dishes are edible. We have been coming to sage room for over 30 years (when they use to be located where Hell's Kitchen is now) But for the price point they can do better. Waiters are very polite and engaging. This place used to be my favorite restaurant. When I came here recently I was shocked to see they removed all the classic dishes from the menu. All the classics that were prepared tableside are gone. It's an absolute travesty. This place has been dying a slow death starting when it was moved upstairs from its previous location downstairs. The entrées all used to come with sides. Now everything is ala carte. No more tableside caesar salad. No more steak diane. No more chateaubriand. These dishes set Sage Room apart from every other steakhouse. I don't know if this was a local decision or a Caesar's Entertainment decision, but however it was made it's flat wrong. When we were there I asked our waiter if he's been hearing a lot of complaining and he gave me a big yes. I told him it's not his fault , so I wouldn't pile on. I ordered the caesar salad and it tasted like a caesar salad that comes from a bag. My Prime Rib was ok. Not terrible and not great. That will be my final visit to Sage Room.Good Bye old friend. We went to the Sage Room for their Bananas Foster and superb view of Lake Tahoe. It did not disappoint on ANY element of the experience!! The view was everything you could hope for, and could be enjoyed from every table, though ours was the best with a corner window. The service was 5 star with friendly staff that continued to be attentive to any need we might have. I'm a big water drinker, and they didn't let my glass get an inch down before refilling it! We started with cocktails as we watched the sun move toward the horizon. My husband ordered the sea bass, I had the salmon, and we ordered a side of asparagus. Delicious food with large servings! As the sun was setting, we enjoyed the table side preparation of Bananas Foster for two. We were married here almost 40 years ago, and it was my first experience with this dessert, and the reason we chose this venue for dinner. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful experience! This restaurant is located on the 19th floor at Caesars Republic. It has a GORGEOUS view of the lake. Service was wonderful, friendly and attentive staff. We found this place during the pandemic and decided to give it a try since they had escargot on their menu. We have such fond memories of this place, that we decided to give it another go four years later. We started off with the tuna tartare, baked lobster (escargot style) and the shrimp cocktails. The tuna tartare had beautiful fresh chunks of ahi tuna sitting on top of a delicious bed of seaweed salad. The Caesar salad was perfect, not overdressed. The baked lobster was good, but wasn't exactly what we had expected. The shrimp cocktail was our biggest complaint. Overcooked shrimps. For our main course, we ordered the prime rib, pan seared sea bass and scallops with prawns. The prime rib was cooked perfectly, and very tender. The sea bass was moist and delicious. The scallops and prawn dish was good, but nothing extraordinary. Overall, we had a lovely dinner with a gorgeous view. Staff members were so nice and attentive. Nice date place. read more

In December, I enjoyed a very delicious dinner at the Sage Room. Once I arrived Nichole, the maitre d greeted me with a warm friendly smile and let me sit at a table with a beautiful view of Lake Tahoe. I was very fortunate to have Teddy and his team help me with my wonderful meal! Teddy and his team were very friendly and accommodating making sure my meal was the very best. I stared with a Caesar salad then I enjoyed a filet mignon steak with all the trimmings that was perfectly cooked to medium rare. My boyfriend made a surprise reservation for our monthsary and got us a dinner with a view. And wow, what a VIEW it was! Around 8:30, they also opened the blinds to give us a full view of the sunset. We stayed at the Harvey's for a week due to a convention I attended. Conveniently, we were also roomed at the 18th floor which is just right below this restaurant. The food was delicious! My boyfriend ordered the King Ora Salmon, it was both crispy and soft at the same time. I ordered the scallop entree. Very filling! It was so soft and delicious and perfect with lemon. My mouth is watering as I type this! Though it seemed overprice considering it wasn't such a big entree. I am assuming it's higher because of the nice view. Each entree was at least $60. Service was great. We were seated right away, and constantly asked if we needed anything. Our waiter explained everything, and she was very attentive to our needs. Many servers checked in on us and it was just top tier. I don't drink anymore and my boyfriend ordered a de-alcoholized Rose for me. It tasted just how it should to my surprise! I wish more restaurants had that option!! I am knocking a star off because I noticed that some of the utensils and table clothes had dust and fibers on it. I didn't mention it during our time there, but I just swapped it out with another plate. Hopefully that was just an isolated event. 5-stars for the view, on a clear day, before sunset. Really beautiful views of Lake Tahoe. 19th floor of Harveys which is very close to the lake. Lots of tables next to the windows, some elevation booths to see over the tables and a second level area with more tables with great views. Although, once the sun goes down, it is very dark out so check the time of sunset for your stay and get there 15 to 30 minutes earlier than that time. Very friendly host / hostess station. Were very helping and positive about making a small change to our reservation. Allowed us to take a quick walk through and even pick out the table we wanted for the following night - thank you. Nice sized specialty drink menu, a couple of different, unique Old Fashioned cocktails and a very good "normal" Old Fashioned. Some mock-tails as well. Normal, steakhouse menu, some seafood, some steaks, some sides. My wife had the scallops and they were very good. The risotto bed was a bit salty but, overall, she liked the dish. I ordered the filet with a side of creamy spinach. Filet was cooked perfectly but was just an ok piece of meat. Not as flavorful as other filets I've had recently. The creamy spinach was very good but I was surprised how small it was. Most other steakhouses give you generous portions of the sides, knowing you are probably going to share with others in your party. Also, I didn't order one but the table next to us did, with the baked potatoes, they load it up for you. They bring it over on a cart and add the butter, sour creams, chives, etc. before giving you the potato. I prefer having the sides on my table as I usually add some when I get towards the bottom of the potato. So, just something to keep in mind if you are thinking of order it. They add some fruits into different items, a blackberry muddled Old Fashioned, a huckleberry ice cream, etc. Interesting choices (BTW - the huckleberry ice cream is very good). Sage Room is located at the top floor of Harvey's. It's a very convenient steakhouse for people who are staying in Harvey's hotel. Really quiet place and giving its dark essence. They have windows where you can see all buildings in Stateline with beautiful views. I think I've been in this place before. Unsure because it's been a while since I dine here. The food tends to be really good here especially the bread. I am quite amazed that it is really delicious because usually breads from other restaurants taste alright. Salmon tastes really crispy. I have never taste salmon that crispy before. I really appreciate the service here especially the staff for being professional. I heard that items from the menu change over time if I am right, but hopefully, they can bring more good food. read more

The restaurant is very warm and inviting and, the ambiance is down right charming. The service by everyone was excellent , including the service from our waiter Cy. The food for the most part was excellent. The only dish I would pass on is the scalloped potatoes. Sorry but this may be long. Haven't been to the Sage room in a a long time but thought we would go for dinner. We were seated at a table in the corner by the bar. The table was a bit wobbly so they put a napkin to stabilize it. Ok, not a great start. Then our server came named Bailey. My husband asked if they had a whiskey list and she replied "no, and I don't know most of them so don't ask me to list them". Ok not the nicest person. So we ordered wine instead and then she disappeared. The bartender brought the drinks, my husband asked again about the whiskey and he proceeded to list off a few Good ones to order. We only saw her again when it was time to order food. Then she was like a ghost, never came by for refills of drinks or just to check up on us. We waited incredibly long for our food. The table that came in after us got their food and we're almost done when ours finally arrived by another staff member. The food came and was good quality. But here's the kicker. The bill comes and it's so wrong. We had ordered the house cab and we're charged 39.99 twice and the 29.99 twice again. So my husband questioned it and she took off the 29.99 charge. He then questioned again why she took off the lower price and she said" the house cab is more expensive". Never has that been my experience. So we asked the bartender and he was like oh yeah it's $29.99. So she blatantly lied to our faces and wanted to charge the higher price for an already overpriced glass of wine. This ruined the meal and my night because I was so upset how rude and condescending she was. Won't be going there again. Overpriced food and poor service. read more

It was my first time here so I was extremely enthused to be welcomed with a gorgeous 19th floor view of South Lake Tahoe. :) On top of having such a serene view, the ambience was warm and inviting.
