It's very mid. Staff is fun. It has a good vibe, but the food is average at best. I think the vibe makes people think it's better than it is. Great Italian food starts with the sauce, theirs is very weak. It's too light, very bland, like a basic can of diced tomatoes. The 20 layer lasagna sounded great, but it was a 6 out of 10. Not at all worth the hype I heard and read here. The prosciutto crisp salad was basically a bunch of cut up cantaloupe and watermelon with a tiny bit of prosciutto. It needs Burrata cheese and some Basil oil with it. It tasted like I bought it at Safeway. The pesto chicken was boring. We had such high hopes. Maybe it's because we are Italian, but the reviews don't make any sense to me. Is this really the best choice for Italian in Tahoe? I wanted a delicious meal with my husband. Came here during vacation last month, I think this is one of the best Italian restaurants that I have ever been to. The caesar said was refreshing & overall really good. I got the maccronchelli pasta which was so delicious, every bite was amazing. For dessert, I had their 3 flavor mixed gelato, I might be confusing the flavors, but cherry was one of them, pistachio, & chocolate. I really loved the mix of those 3 flavors together in gelato. Hard to find... but amazing food and service! This new South Lake Tahoe/Stateline restaurant is a gem and a welcome addition to the lackluster food scene here. Tucked away in a business center less than a quarter mile from the highway it doesn't seduce you with the exterior or interior but the authentic Italian cuisine will delight your palate. We had a small group and were looking for something other than casino or brewery food which are most common around the lake. Decided to give this new Italian restaurant a go and weren't disappointed. Had several appetizers, including regular and peach bruschetta, caprese salad (w/heirloom tomato's), mac n cheese arrabbiata and grilled asparagus with prosciutto! Each was as wonderful as the last. For main courses we had chicken, rabbit pasta and lasagna. Again, the were all delicious, well prepared and flavors you'd expect at a high end Italian restaurant in the city. Lasagna was my favorite (large portion and I think they said it had 20 layers!) but there wasn't any I tasted that I wouldn't order again. Locate this hidden gem. Go for the food and service. My husband and I went here for our date night while we are on vacation. Our entire experience was outstanding, our server Sean was attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful. I had an excellent meal tonight, one of the best I ever had in South Lake Tahoe. I was dining alone and came without a reservation on a Thursday night. The place was pretty full at about 7:30pm so I was offered a seat at the bar. I saw several two tops open so I hesitated to accept the bar seat and the hostess was kind enough to clear a recently vacated table and reset it for me. Kuddos to her! All the waitstaff seemed very friendly and acknowledged my presence, including Maxwell the bartender who soon came over to answer any questions and take my order. I decided on the bruschetta app to start and the "20 layer" lasagna for my entrée. Both were excellent and outstanding in a couple different areas. The bruschetta was four slices of crispy toasted bread covered with melted mozzarella, roasted cherry tomatoes and chopped basil, slathered in very good olive oil. I've never had a bruschetta before that I couldn't just pick up eat with my hands but the "extra effort" to employ the hefty knife and fork made the unique and tasty experience quite enjoyable, nonetheless. The lasagna? OMG. First off, a very huge portion that would easily feed two people. Second off, it was very delicious, starting with the fresh tomato and garlicky olive oil sauce that it sat in. Easy to cut with the fork and hard to stop eating until I got about half-way through. Maxwell had advised me ahead of time that if I ate all the bruschetta that I would probably be taking the second half of the lasagna home and he was right! I can hardly wait for leftovers tomorrow night... Bonus points to Maxwell and Bruschetta for actually boxing up my leftover lasagna in the kitchen and returning it to me, instead of just handing me the box to do it myself. Best lasagna I've ever had. Yes, it's a generous portion and something I consider a very good thing, Who doesn't like leftovers? And, extra bonus, the lasagna tastes just as good reheated at home. Everyone in our party had the lasagna and thought it was the BEST. Now I can't wait to try some other menu options but I might just have to order a lasagna to go. Service was outstanding. We were well taken care of. The restaurant was packed with customers on a Tuesday night but the noise level wasn't bad at all and we were able to have a conversation. She never checked in to let us know about a delay or any reason why we wouldn't have received our food first. There are quite a few Italian restaurants in town, but this place is such a hidden gem and unlike anything else we have here, Italian or otherwise. I have been several times now and have been so impressed every single time. Amazing food, friendly/attentive staff and a very nice ambiance without being stuffy or over-priced. Everything is made from scratch and you can taste the quality and care that goes into each dish. Everything I've tried has been absolutely delicious! First visit was dinner with friends and we wanted to try it all! We each had different cocktails, shared a couple of appetizers and each ordered a different entree so we could sample a variety of things - squid ink spegatina, rabbit pappardelle, filet mignon and seared salmon. Everything was so delicious and beautifully presented. The squid ink spegatina was my personal favorite. It is so full of flavor and the prawns were perfectly cooked. We also shared the tiramisu for dessert, which was light and delicious. The perfect end to a fantastic meal. Next visit was brunch with friends. I love a good Bloody Mary and theirs does not disappoint! Perfectly spicy with a big blue cheese stuffed olive. We had the peach & prosciutto tartine to start then each ordered something different so we could, again, sample it all - lemon ricotta pancakes, eggs benedict, chilaquiles and eggs in purgatory. It was all fantastic! I think the eggs Benedict was my favorite, but the lemon ricotta pancakes are a very close second. Everything was delicious and we loved having such a variety of different flavors to sample. I work close by and have been for lunch several times now, both dining in and to-go. I've tried almost every pizza that they have and they are all delicious. The crust is always perfectly chewy and slightly charred, exactly how I like it. My personal favorite is the Carnivore - the fennel sausage is so garlicky and perfectly seasoned. I highly recommend that, whatever you get, you get some sausage with it! I've also tried the meatball panini and the Caesar salad, which are both very tasty! Bruschetta is such a welcome addition to the somewhat blah selection we have here in South Lake. Perfect for a date night or a group, casual or fancy. Away from the casino/village crowds with plenty of parking. Everything is so fresh and flavorful and the menu changes seasonally. Lake Tahoe is a special place. Historically speaking, the only drawback was the food choices. That all changed with the arrival of Bruchetta. This last trip, we went two days in a row. The food is tasty and there is a lot of heart in this little restaurant. The drinks are outstanding. We had the opportunity to meet Cassie, the woman behind the creative, unique, delicious cocktails. From the moment we came in we fell in love with the ambiance, loved the wallpaper with a few booths and tables. Our waiter was friendly and was quick to take our drink order, and not sure why, but suggested we hold off on ordering our starters and wait and order main course at same time. It was busy, every table filled and took a bit before the drinks arrived. They were worth the wait. We ordered the focaccia bread and seasoned butter and it was delicious. We also ordered the peppers, not something I would normally order and we loved them. Caesar salad and the lasagna, we shared, but the lasagna was the true hit of the evening, beyond what I was expecting with a generous portion. Why four stars instead of five? The service. There were not enough servers. When we walked in there were two greeters, which was nice, but unnecessary, I could be wrong but I believe there were only two servers. Our waiter was amazing but there is only so much he could do with covering half of the restaurant and so many tables. He was always moving. When the lasagna arrived I ordered a glass of red wine, which still had not arrived when I was almost finished so I cancelled it. Maybe a server called in sick. Would I go again? We decided to try Bruschetta restaurant on a Friday evening without a reservation. There were a few reservations so the only seats we had was sitting at the bar section which was not an ideal place to sit. Bar tending, lots of loud conversation especially all the tables were filled up. We couldn't really had a conversation without having to repeat ourselves. The food was really good. Service was good. We visited this spot while we were in South Lake Tahoe and it was a nice break from the touristy scene. It was our first time in South Lake Tahoe, and to be honest we were pretty overwhelmed by how commercialized the place was, in contrast, Bruschetta was a private spot off the beaten path with good service, authentic ambiance, and decent food especially for the price relative to the greater South Lake Tahoe area. We got the muscles with spicy Italian sausage to start and beet salad. The Italian sausage in the muscles stood out as pretty exceptional to me. For our mains my husband got the scalloped linguini with substitute gluten free pasta. Note: gf pasta is never as good as non gf pasta, but it still made for an okay dish. I got their red fish and I was pretty impressed. My husband also agreed my dish was the clear winner. The fish was incredibly crispy but still perfectly moist on the inside. For dessert I got the moose and my husband got the afagado. Again, the moose was the clear winner. To be honest I am a bit of a moose snob and this moose was some of the best I've had, they do put sea salt on it (which I dislike, my husband enjoys salted chocolate though so he ate those bites for me) the whipped cream that accompanied the moose was also very satisfying. If I lived here I would probably go here once a week just for the moose. I do recommend reservations but you can get away with day of reserving peak season before noon. read more

I am satisfied in appetite and experience. We got a reservation at 5 pm and were sat in a booth. The place is small in the most charming way possible, it was clean and the interior intentional with its Italian inspiration along with keeping it modern/trendy. Everybody that worked there was so nice and just exuded cool energy. Our server was fantastic, making great recommendations along with jokes. Little side note, the bartender made a quick bouquet in a vase, and set it on a booth. Shortly after, a lovely elderly couple walked in and turns out that set up was meant for a special date night, and I don't know I thought it was so sweet the staff considered those things. Anyways most important part, the food. We got the Caesar salad and bruschetta to start, and we were blown away. Then, we got the 20 layered lasagna (freshly made layers in house) and filet mignon. This was the best lasagna I ever had and the portion was insane, we had to take a box home. And the filet mignon was so tender, we didn't even need a steak knife to cut it. Also, my sister and I both don't drink, so we tried their Italian lavender soda mocktail and pear tini mocktail. Absolutely perfect. Finally, we got tiramisu.
