I've found Ngan through one of the FB Wedding groups and after seeing her reviews, Instagram, and website, I reached out to schedule a hair and make up trial. I already knew from the beginning that Ngan was going to be great to work with - she was friendly and personable and it felt like I was having a conversation with an old friend, to be honest. Ngan was not only patient with me through my trial as she listened to my concerns and worked with me who has 0 knowledge about make up, but she provided suggestions and ideas based on my skin tone and likes and dislikes. My mother also did a separate hair trial with Ngan because she had some concerns if she would be able to get her hair in a bun since she had some bald spots she wanted to cover with thin hair and Ngan was able to reassure her and get to work to make her feel good. Coordinating a time and place for both the trial and the actual wedding day was very easy to do. Ngan and her assistant arrived on the morning of wedding in a timely manner and got to work right away. My bridal party looked and felt amazing which was very important to me. My hair and make up looked perfect - Ngan did a fantastic job. Even though we went through a trial already a few months back, she reiterated what we went through, what we agreed on, and asked if there was any changes to the plan. She worked with me and my thinner eyebrows and I have to toot my own horn and say I looked fantastic. Overall, I would highly recommend Ngan for any special occasion - whether it's a wedding, an engagement party, or a "just because I deserve it" day. Ngan's team did hair & makeup for myself, my maid of honor, my sister, and my mom for my wedding at the Claremont Hotel on 10/12/24. I found Ngan through Zola- she stood out because her website was very straightforward (both pictures and prices included) and because her pictures were aligned from what I wanted ("my face but better"). I also specifically wanted someone who could do both hair and makeup since it was one less vendor to worry about finding. Ngan clearly knows what she's doing. Her emails are VERY detailed and straightforward. I did the trial 2 weeks before and she was extremely patient in making sure I looked how I wanted and made adjustments as necessary. I would highly recommend doing the trial- it made getting ready smoother before the wedding, plus my fiance (now husband) and I took advantage of the results of the trial to do a nice dinner later :). Ngan did my hair and makeup for the wedding while a senior assistant (Marilyn) did hair and makeup for my MoH, sister, and mom. It was a very relaxed but productive atmosphere- my sister and MoH literally were doing their nails on the floor of my hotel room while the rest of us got our hair and makeup done. There were multiple conversations going on among the five of us, and it felt pretty natural. Marilyn also made some recs regarding my mom's hair since it was on the shorter side and she wanted curls, but the pictures I found on Pinterest were for hair slightly longer than hers, and my mom ended up looking great! She looked really happy. I'm only giving Ngan and one other vendor I worked with for the wedding five stars- she and Marilyn were such a great fit for us. I hired Ngan for my wedding day after seeing her work on instagram. I also booked my hair & makeup trial with her about a month before the wedding (so my hair color/length and skin tone was closer to what it would be like on the wedding day). Ngan was nothing but professional and she is amazing at what she does! She is also super friendly. I actually changed my hair from what I did at the trial, and she executed my new vision flawlessly. You can also give her feedback and she will change anything to your liking. I wanted a longer eyeliner wing and less undereye color, and she changed it easily. She also did one of my maid of honor's hair and makeup, and she loved it as well. My makeup and hair stayed the whole day and night. My wedding hair and makeup was the best I've ever had done. I don't typically wear much makeup, but Ngan made me feel so beautiful! I met Ngan for a trial and having a trial made me feel so confident that I would look my best on the big day. She is so caring and works really hard to make sure your hair/makeup is perfect and you love your look. My hair and makeup stayed in place and flawless all night. Ngan and her assistant Jennifer were right on time to the hotel where we were getting ready. We were exactly on schedule despite having myself + 8 others to do hair and makeup for! My bridal party and family all looked gorgeous and were all happy with their hair and makeup. We couldn't recommend her services highly enough. I'm so grateful my wedding day started at Ngan's studio because it was a comfortable atmosphere that gave me the opportunity to slow down and be present. I first did a trial with Ngan a few months prior. I asked for a simple updo (a low bun) and pretty minimal, natural-looking makeup. I never wear makeup in my day-to-day, so I was worried about not looking like myself. Ngan absolutely nailed the look at the trial and then did a wonderful job incorporating the feedback I gave her on the day of the wedding. My hair and makeup held up beautifully throughout the whole day (not easy for an entirely outdoor wedding on the windy, foggy coast!), and most importantly, I felt like myself. But I am especially grateful to Ngan for being so warm and kind to my mom. My mom was very anxious about getting her hair done; she didn't think it could be styled or put up in any way because it is very fine and has been thinning significantly, due to age. I wanted a soft glam makeup look that was still natural. Naomi was extremely detail oriented and made sure that I was happy with all aspects of my makeup. Ngan did my hair and makeup for my wedding and engagement photos, and she was great! I don't normally wear makeup and I wanted a natural look for my wedding. I did a trial and Ngan worked with me to ensure I was comfortable with the final look, and it turned out exactly how I wanted--like my normal face, but prettier! My mom was originally planning on doing her own hair and makeup for the wedding, but after seeing how awesome my trial turned out, she decided she wanted to work with Ngan, too. And she's particular, so that says a lot! Ngan was so patient and caring with her, and very communicative and organized in the months leading up to the wedding. I think Ngan may have been a little flustered the morning of the wedding (there were 9 of us getting hair and makeup done and she had to manage 2 assistants and keep everything on track), but she hardly showed it and kept my nerves calm. Based on a lot of google searches most people book the wedding date before getting the trial, which made me feel uneasy, but Ngan was understanding and would update me and later assure that my wedding date was still available as the trial date approached. During the trial she tried several looks and would take pictures of each look to record the look I liked best.
