This particular Bruster's Real Ice Cream is located in a nice shopping strip plaza, but be warned parking was a bit crowded. Maybe it was that it was around lunchtime when I pulled in and there are a lot of restaurants here, but there were not a lot of open parking spots. I did find a parking spot though and that is always a positive thing. The staff here is upbeat and friendly and that only enhances the overall vibe of the establishment. Bruster's Real Ice Cream has some great ice cream and they have been creating this wonderful ice cream for over thirty years. I would definitely recommend this particular location of Bruster's Real Ice Cream and if you are in the Windermere section of Orlando, Florida and craving Ice cream or something sweet, this Bruster's Real Ice Cream is a fantastic option (although again, parking was a bit of a challenge when I was there). They have always been so friendly and kind to both my husband and I as well as our lab, Stella. They always offer her pup cups and remember that she is obsessed with them when we come by! Our order was taken by Matthew, who was very excited to help. When I asked a question about the flavors, he was quick with a response and even offered a sample to make sure we got the taste we were looking for. Mom had the Buckeye, which is a lite chocolate ice cream spirled with mini peanut butter cups and peanut butter drizzle, while I opted for the Mint Chip, which was full of chunks of dark chocolate. The thing I noticed upon the first spoon full was just how creamy it was. So light and enjoyable. Opening Day! Bruster's just opened in the neighborhood so why not check it out!? I've only read great things about this ice cream shop so my friends and I headed out! It's one of the first shops to open in the new shopping plaza (Windermere Plaza) on the corner of 535 across from Summerport. We arrived and were surprised to see all the different options available, although it was hard to see the menu because it was dark out and no lighting towards the menu. From a cone, to a cup, to kid sized desserts, they had it all. All of the ice cream is made in-house, so it's guarantee to be fresh! I had the Cookie Craze flavor. The poster shows that's it's blue ice cream with crushed oreos, cookie dough and crushed dinosaur sugar cookies mixed in. It sounded and looked very sweet but I still went for it. It was not as sweet as it looked, but still very good and very creamy. Bruster's also has a rewards program. You are able to download their app from the app store. You get $3 off for downloading the app, 1 point for $1 spent and a $5 reward for every 50 points. Good rewards program especially if you're a regular. P.S. I finally took the opportunity to give the new Bruster's a try. I ordered two scoops of strawberry ice cream on a plain cone and loved it. Their ice cream is very creamy and tastes fresh. The staff was super friendly and seemed happy to be serving delicious treats. Bruster's runs promotions like Banana Thursday. If you bring a banana with you on Thursday you get half of of a banana split. I have not taken advantage of this offer but it sounds like a pretty good deal. I asked what would be they closest to a mint cookies and cream blizzard and they suggested they could do a mint chocolate chip milk shake with oreos on top. Oh my this place is good! We have been twice now and everything we have had has been delicious. My daughter had strawberry ice cream and loved it. I had one of the mixed concoctions with Oreo and vanilla ice cream, which was sizable and delicious, but on our second visit, I had one scoop of maple pecan and one scoop of birthday cake and let me tell you, I have been thinking about those flavors ever since. So flavorful and creamy. They have so many options and flavors made onsite; it's difficult to choose. The only problem is that I found this place right at the start of swimsuit season! One critique and the reason for 4 stars - they are a little stingy on the scoops. For $6, I would expect double the amount in comparison with other similarly themed places.
