Generally a good place to go, but a bit of nickel and.diming. As charging extra for valve stems when mounting tires, etc. A half hour fob taking more than an hour. They are a family business so I'm happy to support for no other reason that that. read more

Good service at a reasonable price. I have an old 1994 Toyota 4-Runner that can be difficult to work on. A year ago they fixed a problem with rough running that two other shops had been unable to diagnose. This time they replaced the muffler and tail pipe, some fan belts and a brake cylinder. I dont know why they got some lower ratings from others. My experience has been nothing but stellar. My daughter had a car that needed a clutch and when we dropped it off, we were skeptical it could be the quote they said but it was. We got it back less than a week later and it ran wonderful. Later it had a sensor in the wheel or break or something. They changed it out and no issue. I had a ford truck I sold that came up with some issue. They were the only shop that did not quote me triple the normal cost for job or would do it. Others were hesitant because the truck was older .. a 94? or something and well they didnt turn the job away. They got the job done in a few days. The are always polite and nice. I have had dozens of conversations and they are always very professional and polite. Once in a while it is loud and you have to wait for them to get away from the air compressor or something but never rude to me. I have had such a good experience I wonder if those others are competing shops trying to make them look bad? I dont know but they are awesome in my experience. Would highly reccomend. They have worked on our BMW, Volkswagen, Ford and Chevy. read more

Horrible service, completely unprofessional. They attempted to do an engine swap on my car, and I had to pull my car from their shop after 2 months. They lost parts, scratched my car, and damaged what were once working components. They costs me thousands between lost time, towing, and replacement parts and labor at another shop. The fact I had to take my car to another shop to finish and fix all the problems they created says enough. These guys are the worst of the worst, do not use them under any circumstances. I hope they go out of business so no one else will have to go through what I went through. read more

Was visiting from out of town and my Toyota Highlander hybrid started running rough and engine light was flashing. Called around to try to find someone who could look at it and repair on short notice. Glenn (owner) said he'd squeeze me in, and replaced the one part (coil) that was faulty, al within 24 hours, I'm time for me to leave town as scheduled, saving me a huge headache of having to make other arrangements. They installed an aftermarket trailer hitch (a Torklift Ecohitch) on our 2020 RAV4. It required cutting the bumper to fit the hitch. We were nervous since the car is relatively new. They did a beautiful job with precision. It looks better than the Toyota OEM hitch AND the installation was 1/4 the labor cost of what the local Toyota dealer quoted me for the job. I was referred to Bryan Automotive by a body shop. I had shut my driver side door a little too hard and messed up the regulator. The window would not go open or close. I drove to Bryan automotive that same day. They were given just a few minutes notice that I was driving by to have them look at it. Not sure how to describe experience or rate but here is what's on my mind. Previous to getting alignment on truck I had some front suspension work by two mechanics shops, one who also does alignments. I decided to take my truck to Bryan's auto because he's down the street and I could walk home. When I picked up my truck the alignment was absolutely terrible and I couldn't even turn wheels well on my truck. Mechanic said I needed a new steering box and it would be better. Well I jumped the gun and took truck in next day to do steering box. The original alignment was 89.99 a pretty fair price and the work and labor on steering next day totaled another $475. I went home thinking oh well at least it's done now. However I decided to call two previous mechanics who worked earlier that week on my truck. Both shops said I didn't need a new steering box and explained why and what may have happened. I personally don't know what to believe because maybe this shop saw something else or were lazy with dialing in everything and thought new parts would be quicker or make more money. I hope not. If there was a way to spare me the extra $475 I would have appreciated it greatly. And the other shops thought there was a way. Being poor in Santa Cruz sucks and this doesn't help. 3 stars for them because mechanics word against anothers and -1 more on myself because I didn't ask more questions and cost of labor was more than double estimate of 1hr being 2.5. I assume others will have better experiences but don't hesitate to question. I'd go in person to talk it over but feel not much can be done now because the part was installed and now non refundable. Both parties responsible, and more could be said/explained by them or me. however I liked these guys but will probably not go back even if it wasn't their bad. Out of the fact I'll never really know. Bummer. Hope all future transactions go a little smoother. read more
