Didn't check the reviews beforehand because we only intended to have drinks, but should've known that places like this are only for the atmosphere. We asked if we were able to just sit at a table for drinks, she said yes. The wine selection was minimal and not good, but we ordered 2 glasses anyway. We asked the server if we could order bread for our son. He said "I'll bring bread after you order food." We told him we were only there for drinks but were happy to pay for a bread order. He begrudgingly said okay. After being there 10 minutes, we decided we wanted an appetizer so went for the tuna crudo. Not did it taste awful, it didn't even look appealing. My family and I enjoyed a truly lovely lunch at Bryant Park Grill after watching the Rockettes, and it couldn't have been a more perfect experience. We were seated in the tented area, which felt absolutely magical with its floating lights and the surrounding trees--it created such a cozy, special atmosphere right in the middle of the city. To start, we ordered the grilled bread with vegan spreads for the table along with the potato leek and roasted red pepper soups. The bread and dips were a delightful way to begin the meal, and the potato leek soup was warm, comforting, and full of flavor. For our entrées, we chose the branzino and the seafood pasta in cioppino sauce. The branzino was light, flaky, and beautifully paired with delicious vegetables. The seafood pasta was hearty and warming--my husband and I split it, and it was more than enough to satisfy us both. Everything about the experience impressed us: the food, the ambiance, and especially the service, which was incredibly attentive and fast without ever feeling rushed. It's not as expensive as you think. My wife and I met up with some friends who were from out of town and we ended up eating here. It's the second time I've been here. The first time was when the company I worked for back then had their holiday party there. The place does look upscale, especially compared to the surrounding establishments. It is spacious. The waitress was very friendly. She allowed us to order from both the dinner menu and the brunch menu since we came in where there were on the verge of changing meal times. The food was very good. We shared the dishes we ordered among each other. Everything was flavorful and delicious. No complaints. Because we shared, the bill turned out pretty reasonable. The rest rooms, though, was downstairs and can get crowded real quick. If you're handicapped, it may be difficult for you to get there. Otherwise, it was a good dining experience. I would recommend the place if you're willing to spend a little more. Or, do what we did, order a few entres and share it among yourselves and save some money. A tasty dinner, great service and a lovely venue on this beautiful summer evening. We've dined here many times, and find the service to be very good during quieter times. For example, this evening our reservation was at 5:30pm, and there were very few patrons. Our waiter arrived quickly, ice waters were served promptly and we ordered: * Cauliflower Frites (toasted almonds, romesco and pesto sauces) $17.50 * Grilled Moroccan Lemon Chicken Paillard (garlic mashed potatoes, grilled organic carrots, pearl onions, tomato, caper & herb sauce) $29.95 * Wild Mushroom Ravioli (grilled artichokes, cherry tomatoes, spinach and edamame in a parmesan broth) $27.50 The Frites arrived quickly, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, hot and tasty. This was more than sufficient for two, we thought these were yummy. The entrées arrived about 10 minutes after we finished the Frites. The chicken was nicely prepared in a tasty sauce, I'd be happy to order this again. The raviolis were delicious, with a strong but not overpowering mushroom flavor. I was pleasantly surprised by my yummy breakfast here! I lived in NYC for 7 years and treasure the city for its diverse food scene, so I rarely visit "grills" that serve American food, but one of my friends really wanted to try this place. First of all, the setting is unbeatable. This restaurant sits INSIDE the legendary Bryant Park. The front wall of the restaurant is all windows, so we were able to look outside at all of the fall festivities, which felt really magical. We were seated quickly, and overall the service was attentive and polite. What really blew me away was the food! I ordered and orange juice and the Challah French Toast, which came with berries, creme fraiche, raspberry jam, and syrup. This was maybe the best french toast I have ever had. It was so warm and fluffy, with a thin crispy layer on the outside. The creme fraiche was the perfect touch to mellow out the sweetness of the jam that was already smeared on top. The only complaint I have, which is why I am giving this four stars, is that the french toast was pretty sweet. I ended up not using any syrup (which I typically love) because the french toast, jam, and berries combined were already very sweet to being with. read more

Been here three times in the past few years and it's definitely a nice restaurant outing spot in midtown and right in Bryant Park. Have tried both the indoor and outdoor seatings and love that they have plenty of seats depending on what you're feeling it. We decided to have small plates of Moroccan kebabs and calamari to start. The kebabs came in threes, on the bed of delicious eggplant pure, sweet roasted pepper strips, a few scattered baby spinach leaves & a hot (what appeared to be) a green jalapeño pepper. This is a must-have dish: unique in offered ingredients and extremely flavorful. The calamari, on the other hand, were a disappointment: gooey batter and poor tasting calamari. I had the Chilaquiles, which was served with a Hen of the Woods mushroom, along with Fried Fresh Farm Eggs, Avocado, Oaxaca & Cotija Cheese. Quite filling. Couldn't even finish. Kick myself for not finishing because they were that good. We partook in some adult beverages. The hubs had a spicy margarita, which consisted of casamigos spicy tequila, jalapeño simple syrup & fresh lime juice. It was delicious and packed a punch. I had the tropical white sangria. So good. As someone who frequents Broadway and a fan of the Bryant Park Winter Market, I have always had my eye on the restaurant located in the park, which sits directly behind the New York Public Library. When you think of New York City in romantic movies, this is the setting you can envision. We were lucky to grab an early reservation on a gorgeous evening, conducive to eating outside. While the inside decor is beautiful, I highly recommend eating outdoors if the weather allows. We started with cocktails: Rosa in the Park and Smoking Pineapple. Both on the sweet side, but the names caught our attention and we were suckers for a great pun. We were both eyeing the salmon entree and the burger, so we decided to order both and try each other's plate. We left room for dessert because, why not? Chocolate s'more and strawberry shortcake rounded out our meal. THE GROWS: This is a great place to people-watch if you are dining outdoors. The flip side is people walking through the park are also ogling you, and if you sit near the edge of the outdoor section, people can almost bump into you as they speed past. Service moves quickly. This is great for pre-theater dining or if you have somewhere else to be, but it also gives the impression that meals here are not leisurely and it's an in-and-out process. Quick turnover. THE GLOWS: The quality of the burger rivaled some local steakhouses. It was cooked to the perfect temperature, as requested, and the fries were light and seasoned well. The salmon was cooked with a sear and the accompaniments were great. The showstopper, for me, was the strawberry shortcake dessert. They used biscuits and mascarpone cheese, along with fresh strawberries. It was dense, packed with flavor, and not overly sweet. Kudos! Great location if you are going to NYC at holiday time for the Christmas shops! Service was good, food portions were big! A generous amount of avocado and goat cheese were inside the omelette. All portions were big !The Tables spaced nicely apart so you won't feel like anyone is on top of you. The one thing I wished was that it had more holiday decorations inside the main dining room. We made reservations a few weeks I'm advance and we're seated on the main dining room. The additional heated tent on the side has a more festive feel with a nicely decorated tree in it. It seems people who did not have reservations were seated there, which seemed odd. I think they should ask customers with reservations which room they would like to be seated in. The Israeli couscous salad with grilled salmon was great and I'd get it again with chicken this time to avoid the upcharge. The goat cheese and avocado omelet is a rolled egg omelet stuffed with the fixings. If you make sure each bite has a good ratio of goat cheese and avocado, it's great! Otherwise, the omelet itself is a tad boring. It comes with plenty of potatoes and grilled onions, which is appreciated. The quinoa bowl is a great option for vegans! I came here with a large party for a work dinner. The location is great, right in the heart of Bryan Park and all of the shops and ice rink this time of year. The private room was off to the side and a little bit cramped for the group of our size but the servers took care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. We started with a Caesar salad which was very good. The mains of filet mignon with gratin and chicken with mashed potatoes were very large portions and all were cooked and seasoned well. I had the filet and it was cooked to medium and nice and tender. The dessert was a chocolate mousse, cake, ice cream, caramel corn thing that was so rich but so good. What a gorgeous site Bryant Park is - the landmark library of New York, the gorgeous greenery and of course the beautifully designed restaurant which has outdoor rented seating and the spacious cheerful indoor- plus there's a bar with tables if all you need is a cocktail. The BPG is wonderful- reserved a table days in advance to ensure a perfect birthday for my son and everyone was made to feel so happy and cared for - great staff! Food was impeccable - the duck salad was waaaay beyond anything my husband and I expected- confit and fried breast: done to perfection. Probably the best I've ever had- better than duck I've had in northern Italy, Scotland or Paris. Prices were average New York- but not stupid money New York.
