I now live hundreds of miles from TOB and I miss it! Yes, it's a little on the small side, but that's about my only criticism and that only matters because so many dancers flock to TOB events! Chooi is a lovely dancer and even more lovely person. She cares about her students and the tango community. She and the other local tango space leaders work together so events and classes aren't even competing! That's great for the community and not true everywhere. TOB isn't just a place to go to learn to dance... It's a place where you can make forever friends, celebrate life milestones, and have a wonderful time whether you're a brand new dancer or a seasoned milonguera! P.S. I think TOB is one of the best places for a total novice to start training I've seen to date. I lucked out! Love you, Chooi! TOB's class is consistent and you review then build on what you know. If you start at the beginning of the month and attend the weekly classes, you'll be dancing at the practica in no time! That's often not the case! Things are structured to encourage more experienced dancers to attend the beginner class, too, so novices have the opportunity to dance with people's at all levels. That's huge! Chooi's beginner classes progress in a straightforward, brick-upon-brick way. It's friendly and fun, so even if you think you have two left feet, I encourage you to make your way to TOB to start building your tango foundation today.

There is a front portion you can buy art and trinkets and then the rest of the space is for creatives. He gave us a tour which was awesome and there is SOOO MUCH you can do here. Any craft under the sun they have space and equipment for. There's a wood working area, 3-D printing, huge etching machines, t-shirt printing, machines for jewelry crafts, space to work on laptops or schoolwork etc. There's is so much to do here and if you are a creative I deff recommend checking this place out. There was a girl there who was 3-D printing bones of the body and in a hand to help her with her Anatomy class. The gentlemen that showed us around helped teach her some tricks on the 3-D printing and how to do it and he is passionate about creating and helping others be able to use the space or any machine in there just ask and he will show you. I LOVE that, such a great community, definitely recommend the space and studio!

The screen was a good size with plenty of seating available. While the seats are definitely older, they were still comfortable enough for the duration of the movie. I watched "Rosemead," which was a really good -- though sad -- film. I'm glad I had the opportunity to see it. There's street parking available, along with a nearby parking garage.

This is…read moredefinitely an event worth checking out and just another reason why living in Sacramento is so enjoyable. I had a good time at Oak Park Gather, but there's room for improvement. Entrance is free, IDs are checked, and wristbands supplied. Cash and cards are used to buy drink tokens (beers $6, cocktails $7). I liked how there were multiple tables doing this to make entering a smooth process. Surprisingly, "The Bar" line moved quickly, especially considering how many beer and cocktail selections they offered. The Bar staff should be commended for an effective system that kept that line moving. They really should consider moving the placement of the setup though. This huge line was formed right in front of the speakers of the stage, making it difficult to have a conversation, and causing a traffic jam for those moving to and from the food truck area. The crowd was really big by 6pm. And massive by 7. I love dog friendly events, but this was much too big of a crowd for the pups, who mostly looked stressed from being constantly run into by strangers who have their eyes on food and aren't looking down. The fleet of baby strollers that swarmed the area was ridiculous. This is an alley after all, not Land Park. It would have been much easier to navigate around the crowd if those were removed. I wasn't sure what to make of the lounge setup, other than it seemed like an ineffective use of space given the massive amount of people at this event by 7pm. It would be a huge improvement if there were more seating available for people. In Artisan Alley, for example, there was a huge space that could have been used for that purpose. I was really happy to see The Roaming Spoon and Conscious Creamery offering awesome vegan eats. If they continue to show up then so will I :)

Not all were my taste but the effort put into everything is commendable. The shows that I enjoyed were killer though. I was in actual tears laughing so hard. My favorites are the titular STAB Show on Friday nights and Scene Kids winch I believe is 2nd Saturdays. Over all a theater I'll be returning to for quite sometime thanks to the humor, COVID awareness, Good pricing(you can get a ticket for the whole night!) and general good vibes!

Inside the tasting room are a couple of enormous flat screens with NFL games turned low with subtitles on, which is nice so you can chit chat with friends w/o yelling. Be sure to sign up for the players card to earn Freeplay, matchplay and meals at the cafe. It's a fun atmosphere. I felt safe visiting here even though I was here less than an hour. Patrols and dealers socialize and are super friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Downtown. You can walk or take a ride share. I imagine this place gets packed during the weekend.
