He is fighting an ongoing battle against hair dryer hoses and can appear quite vicious if he is being dried. Aunt Jayne literally built a little contraption to aim all the hoses at a grooming table so that he can be dried in a little wind tunnel instead of stressing him out bringing the hoses near him. Aunt Jayne also urged me to talk to the vet about trazodone to help Nelson take a chill pill. This has greatly improved his grooming trips. He also looks even more adorable once he is done at aunt Jayne's. I believe she will cut any dog's hair, but she does specialize in the "special" dogs that need a little extra care.

On another visit, my animal loving daughter had a ton of questions about the various animals there and instead of brushing her off, the associates were enthusiastic and helpful to her. Back to Camp we went to try the new groomer today. She was really great with our girl. She let us know about Nova's behavior (she is "bittier" than we knew while being brushed) but encouraged us to bring her more often so they can work together on overcoming her anxiousness and hatred of the brush. She kept saying "She is not a bad dog, I really like her! We can work through this!" In the past, I paid a luxury mobile pet spa almost 4 times as much, they didn't do nearly as good of a job, she was terrified when she was returned to me, and they refused to groom her again. She just came back from Brittany's acting like her normal self, she didn't hide for hours under thr couch like she did with the previous groomer, they were SO FAST, and her cut is so much better! In addition, the staff was friendly, smart and accommodating! I highly reccommend them. If they can do this good on an aggressive/scared cat, they can do anything!
