This is one of the best places I've found to buy a wig. Yes, you may have to wait a few minutes but it's worth it. Barbara helped me find a beautiful wig. She made the sewing adjustments needed for fit and, then, as a stylist, cut the hair to fit my face. What a great discovery! I had been seeing this mall for years while driving down Milwaukee and have always wanted to go in. I've never gotten a chance to, until this weekend. My mom and I had a bit of time to kill before we had to pick my sister up so we wandered in. I was really excited to see that there was a wig shop, so I convinced my mom to take a look with me. I am a performer and I wear wigs a lot. As it was, I knew I needed new wig caps and other accessories. I decided to give it a shot. As I walked in, the person working there was with another customer. She rolled her eyes to me and asked if she could help me find anything. I realized she was busy, so I said no, I was just browsing. The entire time we were there, she was whispering to the customer while giving us the side-eye. I could feel her eyes boring into my back as I wandered through the shop. Did she think I would steal something? Did she think I was just there to mess around? I don't know. But the way she stares at me as I walked had me feeling really uneasy. As I was walking out, she muttered something under her breath. It was an awful experience. I would never go there again. I've never felt so unwanted by a business. I realize that the mall in general caters to an older set, and I look really young, but that's not an excuse for her hostility, as the person she was helping looked about my age. read more

I made an appointment for 1pm. My husband and I arrived 10 minutes early. When we walked in she did not say hello or acknowledge us in anyway. She was busy with another customer. We walked around a bit then about 5 minutes later she asked can I help you. I said I had an appointment and she said to wait. So we waited and waited about 10 minutes. Then we told her we would walk around the mall and come back. We came back at 1:15. My appointment was for 1. She was still busy with the other customer but she said she was almost finished and she was ringing her up. We waited and waited another 10 minutes without a word from her. How long does it take to ring someone up?? We decided to leave and as we were walking out she said she was ready for us. But she wasn't because she was still with the other customer. Also her store had a horrible smell and the wigs were way over priced for the condition and quality. Also the entire time there was a religious program on the radio reciting Hail Marys over and over which increased the over all creepiness factor to level 12 out 10. read more

I asked I'm looking for a lacefront wig, within the budget of $200, and she said, and I quote "you come here. I no understand what you say.", then hung up. I went in here to purchase a wig. I want to say it was a pleasant experience but it was not. Barbara the owner wanted to show me what she had picked out for me and was getting aggravated at me when I wanted to try other wigs. She said she's going to give me a half hour of her time and when the half hour was up, she said I was giving her a terrible headache- where she wanted to take a scissors and cut her head in four pieces!! (Yes, she said that!) I was trying to lighten up the mood but she just kept telling me I was aggravating her because I talk too much and she was very hungry and wanted to get back to eating. I finally said yes to a wig that SHE said was the best for my face- but she would have to order the color. I went to my car and looked up that wig and what she wanted to give me for 495.00, I found the same exact wig (Noriko) for 185.00, Because I was a first time buyer at that wig website. I realize she is the owner of that store, but as a customer service representative she should give you the time you require and leave her personal headaches, or hunger pains OR personal opinions Completely to her self. I've never in my 65 years had somebody that was a business owner talk to me that way, and I had been in the business field for many years! SO disappointed. Had a 10am apt, called the number on door @ 10:20, said she's on her way. 20 min later another customer called. No apologies when she finally arrived. They clearly need MORE help there, you only get help when you're heading for the door. They're wayyy overpriced when you can get the identical item for a third online, however she is reluctant to let you see the tag inside the wig. You're not allowed to touch the wigs, only she is. I wasn't liking the first few wigs, so SHE CUT THEM WHILE I WORE THEM to fit ME... even though I was NOT liking them!! As all the hair covered me, she got me a cape & by the third wig I insisted she not cut them, as I wasn't liking those particular ones & someone else might not want their bangs that short. Her reply was that everyone's foreheads are the same & began cutting the THIRD wig! But the final straw was when a lady & her husband were timid about coming in, finally did & was told by Barbara (the owner) to have a seat in the chair & she'd be with her in a few minutes (since there was another male there who was needing help after me, before her)... the lady said she'd prefer using the chair in the back with more privacy, SHE WAS TOLD NO... "You have to sit here, bc I'm helping someone else too". The lady said she'd come back another time & left. It was that moment that I KNEW this was about making a BUCK... NOT anything about the customer! I've recently had another brain surgery & it was hurting my head to have the edge of the wig on my scar & have my dark hairline showing under a blonde wig, to which Barbara would NOT let me wear it that way, she kept pulling it back to where my own dark stubble showed, telling me that is the way SHE wears hers & that's the way I needed to. It's a shame that she has NO interest in anything but making a dollar (or $500 for that matter). Loved it. Loved it. Barbara was extremely helpful. I needed a wig because of cancer and I lost my hair. She fitted me one and that was the one!!. It was like she knew what would look good on me. She even took the wig I was wear and fixed it up for me at no cost. At work I have gotten so many compliments on how beautiful my hair looks. I first went to BSM Wig World of the Oak Mill shopping mall in Niles, Illinois two weeks ago. I had purchased a wig one day (just for fun) at a place I get my nails done in Des Plaines. I asked if BSM Wig World could style the wig and they said to bring it in and that Barb would be able to take care of me. Another week had passed until I made my way back - I left my name and number so I would be assured an appointment and in fact my call was returned by Barb who set an appointment aside for me. I received a friendly greeting by a woman who said she would get Barb for me. The shop is tranquil, there is nice music playing in the background, a large mirror with comfortable swivel salon chairs and TONS of wigs, hair extensions, etc. throughout the store. There was a small handwritten sign by the mirror that said to choose the style you would like and not to worry about the color. So, in the few moments I was waiting, I did that. I realized that the wig I brought in was too long and had too much volume. In fact the color was the only thing that really attracted me to the wig. I started spying different styles that attracted me and wondered if there was a solution for me at this shop. Just then, Barb came out and looked at me with a curious gaze and warm smile. She kindly asked how she could help me. I told her that due to medication and liver disease, I had lost a lot of hair in my crown and was very self conscious of the fact. In addition, I had a wedding to attend - had a beautiful dress - and no matter what - I knew that without much hair (I was getting a bit tearful), the whole look seemed to be flat. She smiled at me and said, yes I know what you mean - also make sure you have beautiful shoes. That brought a smile to me - both inside and out as she understood. She selected a few styles and showed me how with height in the crown that it lifted my face and pulled the eye away from my full lower face. She further showed me how a highlighted color brought warmth to my very pale complexion. I debated between a few wigs, liking one style for the shape but a little bolder in color almost frosted, and the other more natural to my color but with warm highlights. When I asked her opinion, she said you have to feel comfortable - you can wear either one. I selected the latter. I asked her what I needed to maintain the wig and she said I sell a special product line of hair care for wigs but that all I would immediately need is a wire brush and either a hair spray or mousse product. I asked her about washing it (she gives you a sheet on wig care) and also offers maintenance at a nominal charge if you want her to take care of it for you. So, I was set - she hand sewed little clips for me to keep the wig in place - due to the little hair I have a cap was not necessary. A few moments and I was done! So, I must say all in all this BSM Wig World is a complete one-stop shop for your wig needs. Most of all I can honestly say I made a friend in Barb - she is someone who I now know, like and trust and who showed me personal regard. That is very rare these days, especially in a retail environment. I actually gave Barb a hug and can't thank her enough for her time and selection that has given me confidence. The order still has not been processed and the company refuses to cancel it or reverse the charge. HORRIBLE!!! Terrible experience....don't waste your time. The owner is a disgrace!! I made an appointment with owner (Barbara) to take my 11 year daughter with alopecia. We drove over an hour and she didn't show up until 45 minutes later and only because other lady working there was able to get ahold of her. She walked up to my daughter and never introduced herself or apologized for keeping us waiting. She kept telling my daughter in front of many customers walking by that she couldn't attach the partial wig because she was bald... And I quote to my child, "you're BALD here, you're BALD in the back, you're BALD in the front....where do you want me to attach?? I can't attach the wig anywhere." No tact! Yes, we know....that's why we're here you moron! I looked at my daughter welled up with tears and we left. Never has she cried before over her condition or felt sorry for herself. She cried for two nights....was humiliated by this woman. She will not go back for a wig consultation anywhere as of yet. This lady is a piece of work. read more

I went to this store about 5 days before my birthday in July I Recide in villa park il I drove one hour to get here ,wen I entered no one said welcome or anything I asked the lady about black long wigs showed me two or three wigs asked me what price I wanted to spend I dint think it mattered because I was going to spend whatever on something I really like she went to the back came back to the front I though she was going to give me a magazine of wigs to order it or something but no she was there standing eating I'm guessing she was the owner an older lady with blue eyes and blond grayish hair I walked out very disappointed wasted my gas money and my time I went to a place called the hair depot in Bellwood and got a couple wigs ranging from 30 to 50 dollars each (kanokelen very nice you can curl or straighten it) very cheap an affordable I bought 7 wigs and hair extensions among other things. came out to be around 740.00 which was cheap considering the fact that I bought 7 wigs 3 were $50, 2 were $40 and 2 were 30 I bought 3 packeges 30"in extensions remy human hair for like 140.00 I was really pleased with my purchases at the hair depot on manhiem close to butterfield rd. anyways I think the reason I got bad service was because Im young and was wearing baggy clothing but no matter how you look like they should not treat you like that it doesn't matter how popular the store is. Further more I would not recommend this store for any of my clients or anyone for that matter because of its poor service to clients ohh and do not be fooled by the video that says that there are thousands of wigs because that is a lie. I rushed in to BSM three minutes before closing time one night, hoping to buy a wig for my friend in the hospital. Barbara graciously waited on me, taking all the time I needed and found me a nice wig that was over my price range, but she discounted it even more than the price range I gave her. I ended up bringing it back because my friend didn't quite like the fit (we missed the handy adjustable tabs inside.) There was a lady being helped ahead of me and I was fascinated by the caring attention she was given to get her two wigs to fit perfectly, trimming and even removing a whole strip of hair so they looked just so on her. When Barbara took care of me, she again treated me with the utmost care and attention, as if I were the only person in the store. I highly recommend this shop and it's the first place I will go if I ever need a wig. You certainly can't get that kind of customization on a wig purchased online. read more
