So I came here with a friend for some celebratory cocktails and tasty bites. Upon arriving the first thing I noticed was the host with an unwelcome look on her face. The establishment itself is pretty enough where that can be ignored, but maybe she shouldn't be the first face people see. Who knows. Our waitress was a sweetheart though! Now let's get to the good stuff. The drinks were average, the bites a little above. We ordered crab dip, wings, and fish sticks. The wings were a 4/5, could use a little more marinating (flavor didn't reach the bone but tasted good with ranch), the fish sticks had an odd aftertaste and I actually liked the crab dip. Here's my BBT (Big Back Tip): take the wing and dip it into the crab. I promise you won't be disappointed! Marinade where, I no longer cared about flavor reaching the bone. That was heaven. If you're into creamy seafood and chicken combined, you will LOVE it! The interior is trendy and oh so pretty, I would love to come back for an evening! Last time we came midday, so I can imagine it coming to life later on. They might have a different bartender and host as well. Only reason I'm rating 3 stars is because the food needed another item to taste amazing and the drinks weren't fabulous. They weren't bad, just meh. I'm not a regular drinker (maybe 1-3X per month, only if I'm with someone) so it needs to be worth the sip. There's street parking and a garage nearby. It's Bethesda, so plan accordingly. Enjoy!

Tried BT's for the first time, and let me tell you--the Creamsicle Crush (or as I like to call it, the Arnzicle Crush) was dangerously good. Like, "I need this bottled and sold at Costco in bulk" good. If I lived closer, I'd probably become a regular just to keep that drink flowing. Now, onto the wings. We went with buffalo and soy garlic. The buffalo was a classic, but the soy garlic? Absolute game-changer. I'd write poetry about those wings if I could rhyme "crispy" with anything other than "miss me." Whoever came up with that flavor combo clearly had divine inspiration--and probably a napkin full of sauce stains to prove it. The only downside: our bartender. Super friendly when we got his attention, but he spent a lot of time chatting on the far side of the bar. By the time we were ready for another round, he was deep in conversation, and we were left wing-less and Crush-less--two conditions no one should have to endure. Still, we'll be back. Because let's be honest--when the drinks crush this hard and the wings take flight like that, you forgive a little wait. Next time, though, I'll be ordering my second round before I even finish my first.

Wow wow wow, what a great find. This place has us all from great food and drink to absolute fantastic customer service. So first the orange crush is so good and you taste the good Tito's and the steak was cooked perfectly, the ribs I've had better but still would get them again. Love the atmosphere here with the open windows in the summer. Just a nice place all around.

Definitely a cozy and laid back restaurant. A new favorite neighborhood gem. The drinks are great, and the food tastes good. The steak bites and cheeseburger eggrolls were my favorite.

Went here yesterday and it was great! Very good drinks and food at reasonable prices. The service was excellent - they helped me hunt down something I haven't been able to find at any of the stores. Inside is really nice, too! Would definitely go back.

Lots of TVs for your viewing pleasure which makes this place a plus, they also have a happy hour until 6:30 but the happy hour prices aren't that different from the regular prices on the drinks. The staff is ok and the place is clean. Lots of seating space and the lighting is nice. I also love the big open window they have, made my evening even better with the breeze coming in. The bartender served me prosecco in a glass that was cracked, then looked and me and said "stuff happens", I don't think he wanted to change the glass lol. He did, but didn't even take anything off the bill as if I broke it. Other than that, it was cool.

Thought I'd give this place a few more tries just in case it was an isolated bad experience the first time and my experiences here have been much better! Jake is an awesome bartender. Everything on the menu is super delicious outside of the pizzas.

New little spot. Located where the old brickside used to be. Clean and refreshing. Perfect vibes for a Friday night. Great hh menu! Service was smooth and sweet. Got the turkey chili half smoke sliders and fries. Ate every bit. Inhaled it. Go visit! I'll be going back for sure and hosting a work hh for sure!

    Nachos w chili

Delicious nachos with chili (no jalapeño). 10/10 I like their wings a lot too; I get them the same style as Korean wings. Great upscale bar ambiance.

    OMG the nacho's were a 10/10 !!!

Mediocre food and service. Salad was priced too high for what you get and the other food was just mid at best.

If you like/love the Pisco Y Nazca location in DC, then you'll love the Bethesda location…read more For our first visit, we dropped by on an early Sunday afternoon and were impressed by the location and the food. Fortunately for us, the food was pretty much of the same high caliber as the food from the Pisco Y Nazca location in DC. For our dining pleasure, we went with our favorite dishes and beverages - Ají de Gallina, the Callejero ceviche, and of course a few pisco sours. Although some might consider the prices on paper to be high, I think the prices are fair in terms of portion sizes and quality of the food. Overall, I thought the service was fine. However, I was a little annoyed that we learned about the prix fixe brunch, which includes three courses for $34, after we placed our orders and started eating. While eating, I noticed that other folks at the bar where ordering from a different menu, and the server let me know that they were ordering from the brunch menu. So, I'm thinking that the other bartender forgot to give us both the brunch menu and regular menu when we sat down. Regarding parking, I do not think the restaurant has its own parking, but there is street parking and plenty of parking garages in the area. If you are not familiar with the area, you may want to look up some garages before heading out because the prices can range from a couple of bucks per hour to $7+ per hour. I have a feeling that we'll return to this location - mainly as a way to avoid dealing with the rigamarole of commuting to DC and dealing with DC-related traffic and shenanigans.

I've had this review in DRAFT for a while, to allow time for rumination as to the final rating…read more.. On the one hand, there are some very positive aspects to Beth's, situated in downtown about a 10 min walk from the Bethesda Metro Station. Turn off Old Georgetown Road onto Fairmont Ave, and the first thing you encounter is a beautiful outdoor patio for al fresco dining and a large bar. The colors are vibrant with a focus on Southwestern earth tones; very reminiscent of a cafe you'd find in Sedona. It was still on the chilly side when my dinner group gathered, so we opted to sit indoors. There is a small waiting area in the foyer, and then a moderately sized bar, which leads into the main dining room. TBH, the design asthetic of the space is a bit of a "mishmash." Is it supposed to be European inspired? A continuation of the Southwestern motif? It's all a bit odd... We had about eight in the party, so staff pushed together two tables for us. We were greeted promptly and were told that the restaurant could accomodate individual checks, as ordering is done with handheld devices. My other observation about Beth's is, I'm not quite sure what "story," the place is trying to tell. The menu focuses on "Bites," which could be interpreted as "appetizers" and only has four "plates," aka "entrees." Our server mentioned while awaiting our orders that Beth's wants diners to share the "Bites" with a spotlight on their cocktail selections. So is Beth's trying to be a tapas bar then? I opted for the recommended Purple Rain which consists of Gin, lavender, lime; mostly because I LOVE a nice herbal Gin. The distinctive flavor of juniper berries from the gin was present, while the floral notes from the lavendar and citrus of the lime balanced out the drink. I was pleasantly surprised. Food started arriving after about 20 min, and visually the barley risotto was quite appealing. Instead of short or medium grain rice, Beth's uses the ancient cereal grain barley. It is slow cooked in stock to produce that slightly chewy, yet not undercooked mouth feel. USDA choice braised beef short ribs was stewed until fork tender, and the dish was finished off with Parmigiano Reggiano, and butter. For $24, the plate was a good portion size and very tasty. I dunno. I sampled some of the small plates such as the Brussel Sprouts, crunchy ravioli, crispy spring roll...and everything was fine. Not outstanding...not terrible...but just fine. The kitchen seems to be competent, so it would be interesting to see a menu where more main dishes were offered for diners who want a more substantial meal. The other thing I'll note is, due to the extremely high ceilings, the main dining space is a deafening echo chamber. I was hoarse by evening's end, since I was literally yelling over not just the background music, but the other nearby diners. Just keep this in mind that if you're seeking a quiet and cozy spot, either dine outdoors or come early. After some reflection, I settle on 4 stars. Service was good with water glasses constantly refilled, dirty dishes removed, to-go boxes offered, and the ability for separate billing. Price wise, for one alcoholic beverage, and one entree my tab with tax and tip came to a bit over $50. Automatic gratuity was added for the table since we had over 5 people. I appreciate the server informing us so we didn't "double tip."

I finally made it to Beth's and honestly had mixed feelings about the experience. The food was…read moregood enough that I really wanted to love the restaurant overall. The egg rolls were perfectly fried and delicious with the homemade sauce, and the fries were crispy on the outside while still moist inside. Trey was also a great server and definitely one of the highlights of the visit. The restaurant itself is beautiful, especially the outdoor seating area. The patio is bright, inviting, and honestly a much better atmosphere than the inside dining space. Unfortunately, the music inside completely took away from the experience for me. The restaurant has a dark/lounge-style vibe indoors, so the music really matters. Something more universal and upbeat like Motown, 80's pop, or feel-good music would match the space so much better. Instead, the playlist was loud, distracting, and honestly made me ready to eat and leave. I was also surprised that there was no happy hour offered, especially with such a great outdoor setup that seems perfect for after-work drinks and appetizers. Overall, the food and service (thank you Trey) were solid, but the atmosphere inside and lack of happy hour would probably keep me from returning regularly.

I've been on a shakshuka kick lately, so I opted for the the Sweet Potato Shakshuka, which is described as: Sweet Potato Curry, with Chickpeas and Sunny Eggs with a the chicken add-on - gotta get that protein in, after all. This was one of the most unique shakshukas I'd ever had... It literally tasted like a curry dish you might get at your local Indian restaurant, with a bit of a brunch flair to it. The curry itself had a wee bit of spice and was a bit sweet - but that could have been from the sweet potatoes. The chicken was served in a bowl on the side, which felt a bit... odd... I would've expected it to be incorporated into the main dish. It was kind of bland and a bit lukewarm, so I don't know that I'd order that again... but I would definitely order this again!
