Cheese Pizza
Kruti M.

The best Detroit pizza in DMV doesn't exis- I've never actually had the food at Caddies until recently when I saw pizza on the menu. And after that, I'm always going back. The search for the best Detroit style pizza in the DMV stops here. I've been to multiple places and I still always will crave and end up at Caddies. Something about the crust in the specific pan creates the crust to be crispy, but the actual pizza/bread is doughy and airy. Our go to is the Grapevine 100/5! I believe it's not even on the menu anymore, but the waiters know exactly how we like it- half white sauce, half red sauce, and pesto all over (no gatekeeping here) Found out recently that they don't serve White Claws or Truly's anymore. Only High Noons and Surfsides iced teas. Not sure how I feel about that because White Claws and Truly's are usually my go-to's. Besides all that, just a regular sports bar with a bunch of TVs that are usually playing some sport. There's an outdoor area as well, but I've never actually sat outside.

Frickles

This was a sports bar that offered outdoor seating with a great setup for viewing of different televisions. The menu had lots of options, and the service was well appreciated as we were there for a long time. There were a number of dishes ordered. The food was potato skins ($14), nachos with grilled chicken ($17.50), bone in wings, and frickles ($11). The potato skins were solid. They had bacon, scallions, shredded cheese, and sour cream on the side. They were typical potato skins. The nachos were topped with melted cheddar and jack cheese, salsa, sour cream, and guacamole. The grilled chicken was extra. This was not bad. The chips held up as they remained crunchy with all the toppings present. The only issue was the lack of cheese and chicken. There was plenty of everything else, but there needed to be more chicken and cheese. The chicken was seasoned nicely and really good, so it was a tad disappointing there was not enough. The frickles were fried pickle chips with a remoulade sauce. These were good too. The pickle chips were large and fried nicely. The remoulade sauce was tasty and paired well with the pickle chips. Three wing flavors were had with the bone in. The flavors were Buffalo, mango habanero, and mambo. The wings appeared to be of good quality and an appropriate size. All the sauces were pleasant, but just not enough sauce on some of them. That was the only issue. The Buffalo was traditional with a slight kick while the mango habanero had a nice balance of hot and sweet. The mambo was enjoyable too. Will I go back? Yes.

I finally checked this place out after walking by it millions of times and it's a cool little spot. I didn't try the food but my friends said it was good. I was just there for the drinks and the bartender was not stingy with his pours. We went for adult music bingo and it was fun. I'm definitely gonna do that again! I love a good game night.

I'm surprised I haven't been to this place before. Nice spot if you want to watch the games along with some great food and drinks. I got the wings with fries and they were crispy and delicious. Service was excellent and very tentative with our needs. It's a sports bar so it's excitement which is awesome if you want to sit down, relax, and catch the game with your friends/family. we'll definitely be coming back again. Responsible pricing as well!

My fiancé and I decided to try a new bar, and we loved it, the food choices are amazing, the wings are probably one of the best that we've had in a while, I had the burger, but I definitely enjoyed my other half's meal more, that Ruben was just fantastic. The service was great no complaints at all, she was wonderful. Love the feel of this place with all the great music playing, sports on the TVs just a great time. Thank you.

Food is atrocious, TV's are incredible. You are there to watch sports not eat. Don't really have much else to say.

Their wings are BETTER than Wingstop. I usually order for delivery and the wings are still crispy. Great sauce to wing ratio.

I ordered the Fonz Italian Sausage layered with pastrami (seemed like lunch meat) and melted cheese on top. I think it was provolone. Served on a toasted bun. Filling and satisfying, good flavor. The hot fries was a regular order of fries served with an imbalanced sprinkle sort of dumped on the top layer of fries and not distributed all the way through, which had an extra cost of $2 for the sprinkle of spices, which was an annoying difference in price in my opinion. Solid options for beer and a few ciders. Full bar as well. TVs on the walls only showing sports. You get a table number, order at the counter, pay, and they bring it out to the table number. Casual spot. My immediate thoughts...this place is overpriced. My sausage dog, fries and cider came to $26, plus tax, so about $31 bucks. I repeat, $31 bucks. I honestly felt as though the place was price gauaging. A few other people at my table mentioned the prices and thought they were overpriced. Not much service received, just them bringing the order out. Food was yummy, but I'm not convinced about the value. I have had sausage dogs, hot dogs, fries and beer around the world and I feel this place was overpriced. I like the atmosphere because its a perfect place for casual dining and decent for groups.

Second time here and surprised I never did a review intially. Maybe because that although the wings are big, they're unflavored and unseasoned. We got a round of 24 wings with... 6 lemon pepper, 6 honey barbecue, 6 old bay, and 6 sweet thai chilli. A couple Long Island Ice Teas and some beer to top everything off. Service is on point and bathrooms are super clean. Somebody needs to care more about the food though. I shoulda got a burger instead. Decor and Ambiance is top tier- lots of flat screens for catching a game or sporting event. Skip the food unless you like BASIC. Parking in the attached parking garage.

I had some mild expectations when arriving at Barrel & Crow which were quickly met and exceeded. Our party of four enjoyed a truly delightful and delicious meal. From the moment we sat down, our server--Dan--delivered five-star service. He was genuinely friendly, attentive without hovering. His knowledge of the menu and thorough description of the dishes was also notable. Some were his favorites, so he really described them (all) with mucho gusto. It was like we were guests in his home. We basically ended up ordering literally everything he recommended and he was absolutely spot-on. We started with the fried green tomatoes and calamari. Our smorgasbord of entrées included the lamb bolognese (my favorite, though sadly not the one I ordered), a beautifully tender lamb shank, spiced shrimp and grits, and a deeply flavorful andouille and seafood gumbo. Each dish was thoughtful and well prepared, though the shrimp and grits were a bit savorier than I'm accustomed to. Dessert didn't disappoint either. We savored the chocolate torte and also their signature sweet beignets. They were the perfect ending to an already stellar meal.We left behind so many other tempting menu items and looking forward to our next visit.

The service was so so considering the size of the restaurant. There seemed to be plenty of servers but we had to flag them down to order, get coffee refills and get the check. We liked the food. They had an interesting shukshuka that 2 people got and finished every bit. They also got a side of potato "hash" but they were really just diced roasted potatoes. Not worth the $6 price but worked for soaking up the shukshuka gravy. We had one beet salad that was very nice. We ordered the beignets at the end and they were just fair. We would still go back to try other things!

The interesting and varied menu could use a native English speaker's revision in a few places, though... the "seared steak" I ordered turned out to be raw (very much a Carpaccio situation), and the misunderstanding was completely due to a misleading description on the menu. I sent it back, and the manager graciously agreed that the menu blurb was deceptive (completely unintentionally, of course). Lots of fun, refreshing summer cocktails using Asian flavor profiles on this menu... I look forward to trying them sometime when I'm not driving. The mocktail menu looks splendid as well... so will return next time for Lamb Rendang and a tall sparkler. One note about the seating... unless you are a professional gymnast, avoid the tables lining walls near the bar... they are mounted on high cement platforms, and are extremely awkward to climb. As my server said, "Butt first" is the way to go... or just sit at a regular table with regular chairs. It appears the interior designer was having a little joke (at our expense). Quirks aside, this is a great place for Asian street food from a wide variety of cultures, at a reasonable price, in an attractive setting. It's worth visiting for the neon alone.
