Personal training is offered here and fitness classes. I think that even though the price of their memberships have doubled, getting a membership here is still a good bargain. Their VIP membership allows access to multiple of their locations, bring a guest everyday for free, unlimited cycle classes + studio, sauna, + more perks... all for $34.99/month.

I do like this gym, though! Lots of machines but I will say the equipment is getting old & worn. One of my favorite machines that they offer is the hip thrust machine. It's not the exact one that I really like, as the one that they have uses a belt buckle, however, love that they even offer this machine for use. This and the free weight squat racks are definitely some things to keep in mind if you are making a decision of either here or a Planet Fitness, since they are priced similarly for memberships. I noticed that this gym gets very busy and PACKED. Though, this is inevitable when choosing a more affordable gym option as it's always incredibly packed, just have to figure out their non-peak hours if you like quiet gym space.

There was an iPad/tablet set up by the front desk where I was able to check myself in. I was not sure where the class was located but staff was very helpful and walked me downstairs to the spin class. Their upstairs/main level seemed to be where all the machines are and yoga/pilates classes. The gym was actually a lot bigger than I thought. Downstairs was where spin classes are held and they had a women's locker room down there as well. The locker room was clean, had showers, hairdryers, etc. This was the first spin class I have taken that was not through SoulCycle and the bikes were a little different but similar enough that I was able to figure it out. Overall, not a bad class. I'm used to a bit more choreography on the handle bars but still a nice class! I would totally switch to this gym if only they were open a little later because I do enjoy working out at night sometimes. Parking is a little tricky in this area. If there's not a spot on the main street (Granite), I would check on the side of Bruegger's Bagels or on Adams St.

The new client special is worth it as you get two classes for the price of one and then they ran a deal in December where you could get a package of classes for a sweet deal. It's definitely worth it to pay attention as there are ways to make it affordable. They're also on ClassPass if you belong there. My only gripe is that the classes are really big. It's sometimes hard to find space, and it can be really overwhelming. Also, I'd love to see more classes that start at 7 or after 7. With the T being what it is, it's hard to get there earlier.

I even did swim team here which met practically every day until I had to quit in order to play other sports. The kiddie pool definitely needs a cleaning but the lane swimming pool is pretty clean. They have an indoor basketball court, indoor track upstairs, gym equipment upstairs, and of course, two swimming pools, 25yd. I probably hadn't been back to the Y in 6 years since I quit swimming competitively, & last visited a few months ago. Not much has changed honestly. I'm not sure if it's just me, but I think they got rid of a bunch of gym equipment? Like half of the equipment they used to have lol. Overall, a solid place to go if you're interested in a gym that has about everything for everyone in the family! Affordable rates for memberships compared to other gyms that have these amenities (pools/basketball courts etc). Parking: lots of parking available!

I started here almost a month ago. I have been a member of various gyms over the years, have done…read moreboot camp, have had a personal trainer. But this time around, ,I was really looking for something different. My sister in law had done this program at another location and had great results. I talked to her beforehand, so I knew the pricing and how the program worked before I made my initial appointment. I can honestly say that this is one of the best places I've worked out. Is it huge? No. Does it have all the amenities of a big gym? No. But to be honest, what I needed was someone to push me a little harder, get me on the right track and hold me accountable. And I needed to feel comfortable. I get all of the above at GISFW in Braintree. After reading reviews on other locations (which I looked at before I joined) I realize that your experience can really vary depending on the staff. Now that I'm a member, I can say that the staff is probably 75% of the reason why I'm happy here. They make me feel comfortable, they know me by name, and they push me, which is what I needed. Nikki, Gina and Tomaso are all really good trainers. And Maria (who owns it) is always smiling and helpful. You know she cares about her clients. Can I do this type of program on my own (30 min strength/30 min. cardio) and follow the nutrition guidelines they gave me? Sure. But I honestly know that it wouldn't be nearly as effective and I wouldn't stick with it so consistently unless I was here. The location is convenient for me. Parking can get a little tight on street but there is a municipal parking lot just down the street. Overall, I can say that I have no regrets!
