Since I just received my Gym Junkie badge (which I am super excited about) I decided to review this place. Love it here! Parkings great. The place is super clean all the time including the women's room, showers and changing area. Fresh flowers in there all the time too. Nice touch! Since this place is fairly new there aren't a bunch of people here all the time. It's tucked away in a corner with not much lighting outside. Didn't even want to review it cause I like not ever having to wait for equipment. They have your usual weight machines, ellipticals, treadmills, free weights, bikes, stretch area, 30 minute abs. Lots of variety, although I wish they had a stepper. Everyone I've encountered at the front desk is very professional and helpful. Always giving you a friendly greeting. 10 bucks a month for basic membership and 20 for black card membership that comes with perks such as tanning, half price drinks, being able to bring a friend for free and massage beds! Those massage beds alone are worth my membership!! Sooo relaxing! Hours are good during the week. Open until 11. Friday they close at 9 and Saturday and Sunday they close at 7. Although, I wish they were open longer on weekends. They have a really good amount of TV's lined up for you to watch when your doing cardio. You can plug your headphones in to hear whichever one you want. They won't change any channels for you though. I understand they can't be changing channels all the time but for something big like sports games...they should make sure it's on at least one set. No wifi here either. All in all this gym is worth every penny. I love it here and I think you will too! read more

Such a great deal for a big, clean, well-maintained gym. The hours are very good. I've never had a problem with the front desk associates. There are so many cardio machines, weight machines, as well as free weights. I like how there is the "abs" area with the mats for stretching. There aren't that many people who use this gym so I've never felt rushed or cramped. I was surprised this gym was opened a couple of years ago because the facility and the machines look brand new. I've been to the PF in Quincy and the Braintree one is 10x better in my opinion! Also, this is the kind of place where you want to come in, get your workout done in peace, and leave. If you are looking for fitness classes or a community (think crossfit), this isn't the type of place for that. Then again, you're paying 10-20$ a month lol. read more

Scammers!!!!! I went in person to cancel they had me sign something electronically on the iPad and took my key fog that has the barcode you scan when you go in and said my account was cancelled and I was all set that was back in October 2021 now March 22 and they have continued to charge my account. When I called in first the manager was busy then the second time the manager said all the computers were busy that she would call me back in 10 mins. An hour goes by nothing I call back and some idiot answers and says their manager has gone home and that my account was never cancelled and went ahead and hang up the phone on me. Bunch of scammers and the manager is hiding like the piece of shit she is because they probably do this ALL the time!!!! Dishonest business practices! My wife and I cancelled our memberships on July 14 after getting an email that billing would not resume until July 17th. However, I check today and we still got charged for July 17-August 16. Adding insult to injury, we got charged for a prorated amount from July 6-July 17th. Called the Braintree gym directly but they refuse to refund the charges and wouldn't even provide me with a corporate number to call. read more

When my sister and I joined this gym and told people that we did, most people had negative things to say and now we know why. After my review on Sunday after we where verbally abused by Antione the guy who stated that he was the Assistant Manager and Manager, I wrote a review on Yelp and sent one to Planet Fitness, I was not contacted by anyone from Planet Fitness. Maybe this is not the gym for people use. My sister called them the day after our incident and she asked to speak to the Manager who dismissed our complaint. Today we went in to cancel our membership and the person Larissa who told my sister she was the Manager turned out to be another Assistant Manger like Antione and she told us that she addressed our issues with him. We did not believe her because they have the same position. She also was the person that signed us up a year ago and she Never told us that bags were not allowed on the machines and she was there many times when we worked out. I workout at several Planet Fitnesses but the one in Braintree is my main gym. I'm glad that they've reopened after being closed for months due to the virus. Just a question so we're all on the same page. I worked out today and was told that mask were required by staff and customers. Only customers that are using cardio equipment aren't required to wear mask, is this true? The reason why I ask is that i've worked out several times and this is the first time it was mentioned. I typically wear my mask when entering, leaving and going to and from the restroom. I hadn't wore my mask while working out before today. I also noticed here on Yelp it states that staff is required to wear mask. It's says nothing about customers. Like I said i just want to make sure we're on the same page. Thanks read more

I am so disappointed with the people working the front desk. I come to this gym with my wife all the time. Never had a problem. African American guy with dreads, sitting on a table with his shoes on the table, was condescending and quite frankly rude. #winning. As good as it gets for $10 bucks a month! The facility is brand spanking new, tucked in the corner of a strip mall. Machines are obviously new and fully functional -- don't have to waste your time seeking the one that works. Changing rooms are clean and decently decorated compared to other PFs. On top of that, I ACTUALLY saw an employee going around to wipe the machines rather than cluster around the front chit-chating. I am appalled at the negligence of your facility. My best friend was innocently working out, and someone actually left a weight the color of the floor, which caused her to trip over the weight and almost BREAK HER ANKLE. Thankfully, she only bruised her foot per the ER doctor, because we are world champion Irish step dancers and training for a HUGE competition and now her dance career could be in jeopardy. Since I wrote my last review I tried to contact the owner of this gym to tell him about what had happened to me. I sent an email in November and he just got back to me in January. Now I know where Jamie, the manager of Planet Fitness, gets his unprofessionalism and rudeness from. He told me he had a "talk" with Jamie but basically he couldn't help me in any way. I know that at the beginning of July, I get charged my annual fee at PF. Struggling financially, I wanted to cancel my membership before July hit. Because PF doesn't let you cancel your membership online or in store, it took me a few extra days to get into the store because it is out of my way. I cancelled my membership on June 30, and woke up on July 2nd to $40.00 taken out of my bank account. I had called to tell them there had been a mistake, that I shouldnt have been charged, and they told me I would have needed to cancel my membership before the 25th of June to avoid the annual fee. How was I supposed to know that? Of course, it was probably in a contract from when I signed up....over two years ago. How am I supposed to remember that? I never got any emails or notices warning me that my annual fee was coming or that I needed additional days notice to cancel without being charged. The guys in the store when I cancelled also never warned me about being charged. As a broke college student, this is very frustrating to deal with and they refuse to budge about giving me my money back. read more

This gym doesn't enforce their rules. People are always talking on their phone right next to you. I'm not interested in their conversations. I asked one person last week to stop talking on her phone next because it was REALLY annoying. Said she pays and could talk on her phone whenever she wanted. Told the people at the front desk. They did NOTHING about it. Just said she shouldn't be doing that because it was annoying to other members. Also, the men's shower area is a mess. Dirty shower curtains, bandaids left on soap trays. One shower stall has a shower head that has been missing for over a month and still has not been replaced. The handicap shower too three months to fix. The seat was broken and it was just left lying there foe three months on the floor. Staff just sits around the desk all day looking on their phones and talking. Will not rejoin when membership is up. I have been working out at this location since they opened. Usually pretty clean, and lots of machines to choose from. Not too crowded first thing in the morning. My only complaint is that the dressing rooms are not connected to the showers. People leave their belongings in the dressing rooms while they are showering and then get mad if you are using the dressing room when they are done showering. Signs should be hung up telling them not to leave their belongings while they are showering. read more

So I have been working out at Planet Fitness since 2008 between 7 locations and 2 states. This one just opened and is about the same distance from the one I normally use in Stoughton, so I decided to check it out and work out there. This was the FIRST time I was ever talked to about being too loud! The Manager said he could hear me droppping weights from the front desk so I need to be quiet, I couldn't believe it! I have been working out the same way for years and this was the first time I was told I was being loud. This was my last straw with Planet Fitness and have been thinking about joining a new gym for a long time, so today I cancelled my membership. Planet Fitness is a beginner gym and not good for advanced strength training anyway. This specific gym in Braintree is nice, brand new and looks great, but it doesn't have any bench press benches, instead it has two ab areas with all this ab machines that have scientifically proven not to work. The dumbells only go to 75lbs and there is hardly any room in the area in front of the them, there is only 6 benches, hardly any space to actually work out with the dumbells on the benches. They also have a lot of cheesy strength training machines that barely work. I don't know who set up this gym, but it was clearly not a fitness person.This is an awful gym for strength training and would suggest to go to a more advanced gym. If you want a basic gym and want to do light strength training and cardio, Planet Fitness is for you! But if you are serious about your fitness, I would highly recommend a different gym. read more
