This is the second time that we have ordered delivery from Bua Thai and it has been horrible. They usually do a pretty good job but when they don't, boy oh boy, it's bad. This time the rice and noodles were overcooked and mushy, the protein was over cooked and chewy, the presentation was sloppy, and the portions were small and half dry. In addition, I ordered the addition of tofu to two of the dishes and not a bit of tofu in sight. We spent $70 of three sub-par entrees and no bother complaining because these guys don't seem to care about making the customer happy. This was the last time I will order from them. I am always looking for great Thai food and Bua did not disappoint. I ordered the red curry with chicken with a spice level of 5 (from 1-6). Really good, white meat chicken...not rubbery like some Thai restaurants. The dinner portion is large and well-priced. I also checked out the crab & cheese wontons which was really great and not run of the mill. We ordered 5 entrees and they were all fabulous. We went with the Eggplant Chicken, Black Pepper Prawn, Ginger Tofu, Massaman Tofu, and Raad Na Tofu. All the food was flavorful, delicious, and super spicy. Be careful with the spice levels. Our entrees were spice level 2 and 3 out of 6 and it was HOT! The spice levels seemed to lack consistency though. The level 2 Ginger Tofu was twice as spicy as the level 3 Eggplant Chicken. But, overall everything was delicious. If we were to go back, although it sounds wimpy, I would stick with Spice level 1. In my experience, their food seems to start out with an inherent spice level. The menu is extensive and there are Thai entree options that I had not heard of before, making me believe that Bua Thai is authentic. I came here years ago when they first opened and thought they were bit salty. I went back just recently with coworkers and thoroughly enjoyed the mixed seafood panang curry with mango boba. She let me know that the mango is made fresh and the other flavors were powdered so that was a good tip. I also had their mango and sticky rice, which was just the right sweet and salty combo. For entrées I ordered Pad See Ew and Pork Garlic Style, both entrees were cooked perfectly and had great flavor. Has some pretty authentic items on the menu! The crispy papaya salad is really good. Highly recommend with a side of sticky rice. Tom yum noodles also good if you add chili to it! Price is very reasonable with generous portions. In general though, every dish I've ordered is really sweet. I really wanted this place to still be good. It's centrally located in Aurora with quick access to i225 and other major shopping centers. Always nice to stop by and grab a quick bite. The service here is decent, your host/hostess will seat you quickly and take your order when everyone is ready in an appropriate amount of time. There's no problem here. It's the food. I know the food is made to order so that will take some time. But it's incredibly slow. Also the meat tastes quite burnt/ smokey in a bad way along with the dish. I'm not sure if they're re-using oil too many times or if they're overcooking some items because none of the dishes appear to be burned. The noodles have a perfect texture and are coated adequately in sauce but the flavor is lacking and adulterated by whatever burned flavor there was, it was present in my entire group's orders. It's unfortunate because their dishes are plated and presented very well. The curries did not have this burned taste issue but they were quite watery. The Thai tea also overly sweet, there was a weird pungent flavor, and not creamy. There's none of the typical spice you would normally get as well. The overall restaurant setting is nice and clean. Nothing in the kitchen smells burned. The seating and tables are well maintained and you can see the waiters and waitresses cleaning/ disinfecting surfaces often. I actually love this restaurant and the food is great. However, last night's service was awful. Our waitress sat us and didn't take our order for about 20 minutes. When she came to bring our appetizer she through it on the table and left us with no plates, no silverware or napkins. We waited for another 10 minutes till I finally got up and asked for utensils. Finally our food came out which was great but we didn't have our water refilled at all during the meal. The waitress came back and asked if we needed a box and I said yes and the check. She didn't come back for another 20 minutes so I got up and asked for the box and check. The waitress brought it, I laid and she took off with my receipt. The waitress was super rude for no reason. Staying in Aurora at Buckley Air Force Base and came across this gem. Friendly service and busy even on a Monday night. We tried the Thai iced tea, papaya salad (fair warning 2/6 on the spiciness level still delivered a good amount of heat), Pad Thai with Shrimp, Green Curry with Chicken, and whole crispy fish with Tom Yum sauce.
