We loved eating here. We just moved to central Denver from Albuquerque and have been on an Asian kick since moving, as my husband never found a place he liked in Albuquerque. Denver has a great Asian food scene, and Aung's is among the best. I had Pad Thai and my husband had chicken fried rice. We both asked for mid spice levels and they aren't joking around! I think we may ask for a lower level next time but the flavor and quality of the dishes was absolutely on point. Ambiance was basic, but clean and comfortable. One thing I appreciate about bigger cities is that no matter the neighborhood you can usually find restaurants offering great food and friendly service. I've been going to a Thai restaurant in this location for more than 15 years. Although the ownership may have changed, the food has always been fresh and flavorful. The service has always been friendly and no matter how busy they are, they put out quality food quickly. I also appreciate that since my power chair sits up higher, they even have blocks to put the tables up on, so I can pull under it. However, the portion sizes are above average, so you end up with two or three servings per entree. The food is delicious, and the spice heat level was just right for a mild rating. Among the top 2 Thai restaurants that I have tried in Denver. A mom and pop joint in Englewood with food made by people who are clearly passionate about cooking. Some of my favorites The Papaya salad - fantastic! Fresh grated papaya perfectly seasoned without the fish sauce being too overpowering. Crunchy peanuts contrasted the soft papaya Cashew Chicken - the chicken was done perfectly with great proportions of carrots, cashews and bellpeppers. Leftovers tasted great re-heated the next day as well Pineapple curry - what a flavorful experience. The spices, heat, and coconut combined with explosive bites of pineapple was out of this world. We ordered mild, and it definitely left our mouths tingling. A definite must-get. Overall - minimally (but perfect) decorated restaurant with service that was not particularly fast or overly welcoming, but the food is definitely worth going back. My last lunch there took about 40 minutes to get food out after ordering so maybe not the best place if your are limited for time read more

This lovely little café has phenomenal Thai food. The menu is extensive so deciding which to order was very difficult for us. Let's start with the vegetable egg rolls, which were the best I've ever had. The crispy outer was a nice surprise and I wanted about 10 more. Let's just make this simple. Every dish was delicious. We took home at least half of every dish because the servings are immense. I added a picture of the bill because it is very reasonably priced. There is also a full bar and parking is in the lot or on the street. For those who like to watch sports there was also a television on but the conversation was still very easy among diners. These rice paper wraps filled with rice vermicelli , mint, cucumber, bean sprout, carrot and lettuce served with peanut sauce were a good beginning, light and healthy. We ordered two dishes which came with an abundance of rice on the side to soak in the beautiful sauce of the Red Curry . Eggplant is so good in Thai cuisine, something I rarely cook properly at home. The choice of protein was between: Chicken, Pork, Beef of Tofu. We chose Pork. The sauce was delicious, this coconut red curry was probably one of the best I've had anywhere. The dish included purple eggplant, zucchini, bamboo shoots and Thai basil, bell pepper was also an ingredient that we asked to leave out. Our second dish was Basil chicken, stir fried with onion, mushrooms and the Thai basil in house mixed soy sauce , The chicken was ground which we both really liked. In fact my friend was devouring it. This was a lovely meal to share with my best friend. I was impressed by how quickly the food came out and the service was good, as our water glasses were always filled. I have to say that I will return next visit to Denver. It was so Delicious! I've been trying to find a decent Thai place in the Denver area and after reading the reviews here I was really excited to try this place but was so disappointed. I'll give both the good and bad of this experience. Pros: 1. Ordered to go and it was ready for pick up within 15 minutes and they were friendly. 2. After calling to complain about the lack of flavor in the drunken noodles they offered a refund or a coupon which I thought was very good customer service. I took the refund because I do not want to go back there to eat. 3. We got two rice boxes with our meal which is very generous and unheard of with Thai places and at no extra cost and without asking. Cons: 1. The drunken noodle had literally no flavor. It was bland in every way. 2. The red curry was all spice and no flavor as well and the beef tasted funky. Overall if the food isn't good I won't go back to a place but the customer service and service in general was great so cudos for that. read more

I also tried my friend's pineapple and chicken fried rice which was equally tasty. Portions were not small! We asked for thai chili oil on the side and they don't serve it, so we opted for Thai chili powder, what we received was not Thai chili powder, it looked and tasted like crushed red pepper that you put on pizza. We ordered medium spicy and it truly was spicy (sometimes my white-ness makes restaurants time down spice levels) but my husband is Indian and I truly love spicy food! The chicken in the dishes was good quality tender breast meat cut into thin slices. All dishes had large chunks of fresh vegetables. Prices were less than 20/plate and portions were good. I got the pad Thai mild plus! Between mild and medium. Mild plus has the tiniest tiniest spice to it so they gave us red pepper flakes on the side which helped give it a good kick. Excellent vegan and vegetarian variations which are chock full of vegetables...and they take their spice levels seriously! First off, the Pad See Ew here is amazing! The flavor of the noodles and the way the broccoli is cooked is fantastic. If you like wide noodles, that's what you're getting here! I usually add beef to my order and get medium spicy for a bit of a kick. That being said, ordering by phone is not very reliable. I called four times to try to place an order and ended up going in person to get something to-go. The restaurant was packed on a Friday night and there were people standing and waiting to be seated. My order ended up taking an hour to be ready, but was still delicious. The restaurant has an open design and it can get pretty loud in there when it's full. The space is simple and informal but also has a touch of style. This is definitely one of our favorite spots in the Englewood area. We love the family backstory on the website as well. read more
