Incredible spread. Great value for fresh fish and tapas. The tuna tostadas were the silent hero of the meal.
After a snorkeling trip in Puerto Morales we asked the captain to recommend us a restaurant where we could eat fresh fish. He physically walked us to El Pescador. This place has a casual ambience and the food is delicious. We had small serving of shrimp ceviche, which was tender and citric. Just perfect !! Then, we picked our fish to get cooked any style we wanted and we decided to have it fried with garlic and oil sauce. There was nothing left !! It was amazing! We are planning to go back to Mexico in May/2020 and will return to this place for sure.
Some of the best authentic mexican food in Puerto Morales! We love El Pesquero, our family has been going here for about 8+ years now and each year it never disappoints us. The pricing is very affordable, the food is authentic, and the service is genuine. They truly appreciate you as a customer and help you navigate the menu. Top picks for our family: The catch of the day - They will come and show you the fish before they cook it and you can choose how you want it prepared. Bacon wrapped shrimp Shrimp + garlic Shrimp Quesadilla Guacamole Each meal is served with chips and pico (included). Don't forget to enjoy all of the above with a cold one and wash it down with some tequila!

Got there and were greeted right away the older man seated us and waited on us was amazing ! We got catch of day fried and shrimp cocktail absolutely delicious . My kids had shrimp quesadillas and bread shrimp plate let me tell you the flavor is soo good soo fresh everything well done ! We finished off with dessert the brownie and vanilla ice cream and couldn't think our lunch could get better was ended beyond words a truly hidden gem ! Ohhh but pllleassee dont leave without washing hands by the restrooms they have the most beautiful sea shells as faucets wish i would have taken a pic !
We sort of stumbled on this place when we took a day trip to Puerto Morelos. It's not right on the ocean but one street back. We ordered the social if the day which was Amberjack in a garlic butter. You could have it any way you wanted though. It came with mashed potatoes and rice as well as a cabbage salad. We asked just for cabbage. It was all so good. My husband and I split the meal and ate the plate clean. Very nice staff. I highly recommend. They also have lots of other foods as well as a whole fish that's sold by the kilo.

This place has a cute outdoor eating area. We are big fans of Puerto Morelos small town, authentic feel. The food was very fresh and staff was accommodating for our large party. We hope to come back here next time we are staying in Puerto Morelos!
This place is hands down one of the Top 3 food spots I've ever eaten at. The food is absolutely fantastic. The drinks are excellent. While in Puerto Morales we stumbled across this place and ate here 3 times in 3 days. Absolutely fantastic and can not wait to come back to Puerto Morales to eat again.

Absolutely delicious. The fish ceviche was great, lots of fish and a good amount of the the lime juice or whichever marination they used. My wife got some shrimp red entree and I got the shrimp quesadilla as well. Quesadilla was fire and would 100% recommend, great seasoning and delicious. Would recommend this for seafood if you're in the area! read more

El Pesquero has really great, fresh food. The horseback shrimp was our favorite entree, but the fresh fish fillet was really good, too. The portions are large, and we ended up having to take some of our food home with us! The service was great, and the staff was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant is all outdoors and has a bar area. It's nicely shaded and has a very beachy vibe even though it's not directly on the beach. read more

I stayed at a resort and wanted fresh fried fish so I decided to go into town. I ran into Trish aka my trish advisor and she recommended El Pesquero. They start you off with black smashed beans, cucumber, chips and salsa. Our appetizer was the ceviche mixto and our main course was the fried fish. Everything was so good, I highly recommend this place. read more

The staff, the food and the beverages are some of the best I have ever experienced. The ceviche was off the charts. The tuna tartar incredible. The catch of the day, sea bass, was prepared perfect. The skirt steak was the best I've ever had. I've eaten here 2 nights in a row and had we found this place sooner we would have eaten here all 7 nights of our vacation. read more

It's a quaint little courtyard bar/restaurant on a lane parallel to the sea, back a couple streets. Kind of a locals place, so I stopped in for some fresh ceviche (sea bass) and a couple margs on my first day in Mexico. I was surprised with several dips to accompany the fresh warm chips, and some pickled jicama and cucumber salad. The ceviche was perfect, very fresh, exquisitely bright, and a generous portion. As I tour around the peninsula the next few weeks, it will be hard to match this ceviche in quality, taste, and value. So delicious! read more

Don't let the 4 star rating fool you, this place was awesome. The reason I can't give it 5 stars is because we brought our own fish in that we caught earlier in the day for them to cook, so I can't really speak to the fish they serve. So, we went deep sea fishing in Puerto Morelos the morning before we found this gem of a place. My son caught a nice sized red snapper, so we wanted to eat it. After this fishing trip we ended up back at our resort just South of Puerto Morelos where I did some research on where to get the fish prepared for us. Yelp reviews directed me to El Pesquero, so we caught a taxi back into Puerto Morelos for dinner. They had no problem preparing our food, and for something like 50 pesos each, we had a huge plate of grilled red snapper, rice, and.....dang, something else (It's been 2 months, I am just getting around to writing a review, shoot me). Maybe a vegetable or cole slaw. Seriously though, 50 pesos? I think a cup of coffee at the resort costs more than that. We also started the meal with some civeche which was extremely fresh and delicious. The servers were so friendly, as is just about everyone in Mexico that we interact with. They offer a wide variety of drinks. Our favorites at any restaurant are chiladas (lime juice and beer). They also had a drink that really caught my eye. I am not a big tequila drinker, but this drink look amazing! And it was! I don't remember the name, but it is basically a bowl of ice, half a grape fruit, half a lemon, half an orange, and maybe half a lime covered in chili powder, and a shot of tequila. You squeeze all of the citrus into the bowl of ice, pour in your shot, mix it together and drink it with a straw. I want one now. If you are looking for high class seafood, this isn't your place. If you are looking for a local feel with great food and drinks, you can't beat this pace. We even walked over to the square afterwards and there were craft vendors, live music, and the only thing that I can describe as "street deserts". Such a fun evening in the middle of the week in January. If you are into trying to fit in with the locals, definitely try this restaurant and then hit the town a bit. It was the most fun we had on vacation. read more

My family and I came over for lunch after walking around Puerto Morelos! The place's adorable! Not fancy but enough to become a toUrist's spot! Prices are average per the area.! The FOOD was great !! I tried ceviche mixto, fried octopus tostadas , caught of the day fish fillet a la veracruzana , fried plantAins !!! Everything was exceptionally tasteful MOST ImPORTANT!!! Great local joint with killer fresh fish! If you get the whole fish, they'll come and give you a choice before they cook it. They brought over two to our table and we (of course) took the bigger one. And then, after we destroyed that one, we asked them to go ahead and fry up the other. We ordered the fresh fish fried with garlic sauce. Highly recommend it unless you're goin on a hot date afterwards. The one issue with this place....it's all outdoors. Which, in the middle of summer in cancun is rough, AND once that fish hit the table, the flies were swarming. This is expected no matter where you go in an outdoor place, so I had to disregard. The place could have used some music though...ambiance wast really there. Food: 5 Drinks: 4 Atmosphere: 2 (but wasn't looking or that) Service: 5 Price: 5 (2 whole fish, 4 drinks, 2 shots less than $50) IF we make it back to this small fishing town, we'll be back for some more garlic breath. read more

The best meal we had in Puerto Morelas, hands down! Great open feel to the restaurant, with friendly helpful service. We had ceviche with mixed seafood, best of the week. Main course was whole Hawkfish (firstime for us) grilled, so delicate and perfectly cooked. Also had grilled octopus with onions, again perfect. Too much food, we took half home! read more

I stayed at a hotel 2.5 miles away from this place. My sailing guide recommended me to El Pesquero and boy am I glad I went! We ordered a cab from our resort and he took us there and picked us up. Round trip was $40 but who cares, it was worth the trip. The town is very cozy and has lot of shops, def a place to check out if you wanna walk around and buy souvenirs. They took credit card and the food was amazing. We ordered so much and it was only $48!!! We found bunch of travel agency employees eating here, so you know the food is legit. I ate my head off until my stomach was gonna explode. Came back to my room and literally went into food coma and passed out. Go after a long day of swimming and having fun in the sun and finish the day off with a cold beer and amazing ceviche! read more
