We ordered dinner for here via doordash because it has been way too hot to cook and I hate the heat. I ordered a quesadilla for myself and burrito for my fiancé. Both with huge, like really huge. I only ate half of my meal but my fiancé ate his burrito and really enjoyed it. It's nice because you pick your fillings so the customization is definitely a perk. It's definitely more greasy than the one I had from surf taco but it could have been because there was more fillings in it. I would order again but try their tacos. read more

I really wanted to like this place but, for the price, I expected this to be better. It's a short and chubby burrito which would be OK if it was full of filling but, so much of the tortilla is folded into the burrito itself which gives it more girth. After paying the initial $8.50, most of the toppings that you would want in a burrito is an extra $0.50 each. Extra meat is another $2.50 so you'll probably end up with a $11.00 to $12.00 burrito. Also the extra $ double meat seemed like normal filling and not really double so I would stick with the normal serving. I also opted for the brown rice which was both overcooked and undercooked; don't know how you managed that. In a pinch, I'd probably venture back in but, there are definitely other places around with better value. read more

I've been here twice and I have no complaints. The staff is always super nice and the food is always good. The portions are large and good for the price. I've had a hibachi steak + shrimp burrito and both proteins were cooked to order. Last time I went I had the nachos with grilled chicken and I was so pleased. I've been looking for good nachos ever since Baja Fresh has left the area and these definitely satisfy that craving. First timer over here. Walked in here with a taste for Mexican, had no idea that this was going to be such a satisfying meal. I tried the steak and shrimp quesadilla and it was one of the best I've ever had in my life, and I've been to many Mexican joints. The quality of the cheses is superb, and the steak and shrimp is fresh and plentiful. Top off my experience with great customer service. Both owners were friendly and helpful. You pay about the same as other comparable Mexican places but you get way more food for your money and a much larger selection. I was very happy with this place and will be back. I ordered delivery from here last night and the food arrived exactly on time as they stated. I got tacos, a quesadilla, and curly fries. The tacos were outstanding, I loved the Vegan Boca patty and BBQ sauce on them! The quesadilla was also delicious. The curly fries were great too, I don't often see them on menus so it was nice to have them for a change! All the items were definitely worth the price paid for them. Bubbakoo's Burritos in Somerville might be the worst place I've seen in Somerville as far as cleanliness. As a resident of Somerville for the past 15 years, I decided to check out this place. It was awful. The bathroom is dirty, the tables aren't clean.. and I even saw one of the workers spill blue cleaning fluid into the pork... and not do anything about it!! They do not clean the counter that they make burritos on, and they put the quesadillas right on the dirty counter. My wife and I stopped in to Bubbakoo's today to give it a try. The people working the counter were very friendly and helpful. We both ordered a burrito and chips , my wife went with guacamole and I went with queso. As for the taste the food was exactly what I expected for a burrito at a Mexican grill franchise. The queso dip however, was very good. I would definitely come back to try some other things on the menu. The only downfall was that after adding some items to the burrito the meal did get a little more expensive then I thought , totaling out to be over $30 for the two of us. All in all, I would say that I would prefer Bubbakoo's over some of the other Mexican grills in the area, especially for their service and how they interact with the customer. This review would have been 4 or 5 Stars if I wrote it when this location opened. The old owner was happy and friendly. He greeted you and made you feel valued. The area where your food is assembled was always clean and you never felt rushed. Plenty of plates etc. There are new owners now!! They're horrible. The cafe has WEIRD hip hop and rap music playing. They used to play acoustic and beachy music that you would associate with a relaxing shore environment. Now the food area is a MESS. The employees make the food SO messy. I couldn't eat half my burrito. They used to let you taste the hot sauces before smothering your food in it, not anymore. We ordered chips and queso and we were informed that they would be brought to our table in a bit. Well we get or drinks, sit down and stay eating under the impression the chips and queso were coming. 15 minutes go by and we are almost done eating. I went and asked the same employee what happened to the chips and queso and she informs me that they had to make a new batch cuz the one they had had been burned and was old. So I look behind her and there is a tall man in a blue polo shirt ON A CELL PHONE sandwiched between his shoulder and ear stirring a pot of queso. What?! How is that sanitary OR good customer service?! She eventually handed me the queso and chips but the queso was as thin as water and she chocked it up to its hot and just came out of the pot. HAD she told me before I paid that I would have to wait for them to COOK new queso I would have passed. I'm so so sad what has happened here. We went from loving it to vowing we would never come back. The new management and ownership is horrible. Avoid!! read more

This is a new local favorite of mine. I have had multiple things from Bubbakoo's and they have been more than stellar. The meat is fresh, the veggies are outstanding, and their burrito bowls, burritos, quesadillas are on point. My wife and I joke about how Chipotle queso tastes like a dog's foot, but Bubbakoo's is always outstanding. My only negative would be the lack of employees. The wait time and seemingly unorganized structure of the store is a small hiccup in an overall strong dining experience. read more

Similar to Chipotle, Moe's, Qdobo, etc... except the food is equal or even more tasty than those (especially Moe's, Moe's is terrible). Most impressive is the quantity they give you. Want guac? They really load you up with it, squeeze it out of a pastry bag thing. Peppers and onions? They put a bunch on there. Moe's, on the other hand, literally gives you like one piece of onion and one piece of pepper. The chips are really good here also. I've had burritos, burrito bowls, and a quesadilla. All delicious and I believe better than the similar type places. If I had my pick of anywhere to grab a quick burrito, I'd definitely choose Bubbakoo's! read more

My family tried this place and it was meh. The ambiance is casual and seaside, which did not mesh well with the cold and snowy day in suburban NJ. The prices are a stretch as well - they are around ten dollars per dish. The portions are huge and the food is good, but some of the workers added extra toppings (that cost more) or griped about ringing us up again to take advantage of a meal deal. The manager is quite nice, though, and competent. This place also does not offer tofu, but has two vegetarian options for meat, which are the boca patty (a soy protein patty) and beans and cheese, both of which are $8.50. All in all, would not return, but the food was decent. Spice lovers, the hot salsa is shameful. We had to add the house chipotle sauce to make it have any spice. read more

Beyond disgusting. Such a waste of money. First off, every single meat selection looked dry and as if it was sitting out for hours. Waited for them to make steak, only for it to be a minimal portion with absolutely no flavor. Got a burrito made of basically rice and beans that tasted like cardboard. It's no wonder they're never busy. Being a local, they'll never get my business again. Stay away! Go to moe's or chipotle where you'll get fresh food and ingredients with actual flavor. read more
