This building was built in 1845 and opened for business in 1846 as the Union Hotel when the Central Railroad of New Jersey first came to Readington. After the hotel closed, the building became a the home to several restaurants throughout the years. The location was called Flamingo's when the television show "Kitchen Nightmares" came in and rebranded the place and named it The Junction. Chef Gordon Ramsey helped revamp the restaurant. By calling it The Rail, they are honoring the railroad theme, being in this historic building, so close to the tracks.
