This is a go-to burger place for my husband and I. Been here several times and have never been disappointed. FOOD OMG those shrimp. I get them every time -- sometimes just as a meal. They're my favorite. I almost always get their bacon burger with American cheese. Something comforting and quintessentially American about a burger with American cheese and that special sauce. It's probably the California girl in me craving In-N-Out. Their onion rings are good, and their fries. And their side salad is actually legit -- not some half hearted bed of lettuce. It's actually good. Oh and their beer is so cold. COST On par with what you'd expect. AMBIANCE I love that they have two bars. One is "outside" but they close it up during the winter. Everything is clean. And loooove all the TVs for the games. They don't have the NHL channel though, so boo on that. OTHER I've never had a negative experience here that I remember. Sometimes I worry we're going to have a 45 minute wait when everything looks full, but I've never waited more than 20 minutes for a table. Don't let the crowds scare you away. read more

What a disappointment! Can't think of a single thing that the restaurant did right the afternoon we visited. Seating: 5 people were seated at a tiny table and my wife and I were seated at a large table next to them. We felt bad and switched tables with them. The hostess/server should have done this for them instead of keeping them there when a larger more comfortable table next to them became available. Drinks: Ok but nothing spectacular. Margarita was bland and could barely taste the tequila. Appetizer: Ordered onion rings and they were disgustingly greasy. Its pretty sad when you can get better onion rings from Burger King. You may want to use a thicker batter, thinner oil, turn up the oil temperature, and drain the rings before serving them. Food: Not ok. Ordered a burger and it was raw in the center. I like my steak rare but ground beef rare is a big NO GO! I sent it back and the replacement burger was the same. I didn't eat it and brought it home for the dogs. The bite I took before hitting uncooked meat was bland. A hint of seasoning would have really helped the burger. Table who we switched with were also disappointed with the food. Their pizza had about as much flavor as cardboard. We won't be going back as I got a lifetime serving of grease in one sitting. Next time I want a burger, I'll be going back to Cheddars. Finally tried Bubba's today and so glad we did! Last meal with my Bubba, before he returned to Twentynine Palms, back home visiting on his post deployment leave. From the fried pickles, sangria margarita, my daughter's double "Bubba burger" (which she couldn't finish) to the buffalo chicken sandwiches and fries, everything was delicious!!! I think Bubba's has a great concept and fun atmosphere. This review is strictly for Togo. I ordered the shrimp which came out great full of flavor and tender. I also ordered the fiesta dip, while tasty and fun to eat I would note that the ground meat in the dip had not been adequately broken up. There were several half dollar sized chunks of meat in the dip that I needed to break up myself. My main criticism was my philly sandwich, I ordered no mushrooms and asked for the chorizo option in the sandwich which costs extra. I found when I got home that my sandwich had mushrooms and no chorizo. Also my fries were extremely soggy. Might be a good idea to put the fries in a separate container from the sandwich. Overall I'd still eat at bubbas I'm just not so sure I'd order Togo again. read more

We sat in the Garage, and our server was quick and friendly. My boyfriend and I both got a bacon, guac, mushroom and bubba sauce burger (he got the additional fried egg). My burger didn't end up coming with mushrooms, and we were charged an extra dollar, but we were too lazy to make the complaint... anyway, the burgers were top notch! My boyfriend and I subbed our fries for sweet potato fries and it was sooo worth. We ended the night getting the turtle volcano cake. It consists of a hard chocolate base with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, drizzled with pecans, chocolate and caramel sauce. It was delicious at first, but after a while, it ended up being way too sugary. I actually wouldn't recommend it unless you have a sweet tooth. Overall, a solid reason to come to Bubbas on a Tuesday. My wife and I went in at 6pm on a Sunday. It was busy but there were open tables. The hostess chose to sit us at a 12 top that had busy rushing servers on either side despite the fact there were open booths. We were going to ask to move but no one ever approached us. I could not even get anyone to make eye contact with me. Five minutes later a couple was set at one of the booths and a waitress approached them immediately. We decided to leave and felt just as invisible on the walk out as we did sitting in the middle of the restaurant. Its unfortunate that out first experience was so disappointing. EDIT: I just had a call from the Manager, Gil. He acknowledged the problem we had and wanted to make it right. He was incredibly helpful and communicative and it's clear he cares about the restaurant and his customers experience. I look forward to trying Bubba's 33 a second time around. read more

Bacon! Everything is better with Bacon! Especially delicious crispy bacon. Given the recent news about bacon and cancer, my momma would have a fit if she found out that I had their 33 Bacon Burger. But heck, since when has bacon ever been good for ya? The burger was absolutely delicious. The bun was soft and nicely toasted. The patty was juicy and flavorful. Oh, and did I mention BACON?!?! Our fries were crisp and not greasy. And the onion rings were very good as well. The menu prices are fair even for the beers! I didn't find anything to be over priced or not worth the price paid. Our server and supporting staff were all friendly. However, what's the deal with no napkins? We had to get up and ask for napkins at the bar after requesting some from several others. I'm a comfort food person who doesn't mind salt and grease-but wow...I had way too much at Bubba's. The food was tasty but not remarkably great. It was memorable in that I won't order it again! I had the Bacon Cheeseburger which did sound like it would be salty greasy deliciousness....in the way bacon should be. This was over the top-the bottom bun was totally soggy. Companion had Philly cheesesteak and says he won't order it again there....his favorite item, usually! For apps we sampled the fried pickles and onion rings. Again, you always expect salt and grease with those items, but they were also over the top. They did taste good but after a couple I was done! The place was clean, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was enjoyable. But if I come back I'll steer clear of the burgers and any fried apps. Might try pizza! read more

I was invited by ownership to try out the restaurant before the grand opening. Quick and friendly service from the (very nervous) waitress. She was very helpful and answered my questions with confidence. The beer was cold and there are TVs everywhere. Got to sample different appetizers. The best, hands down, was the shotgun shrimp. It was delicious. The chicken wings were also pretty good. Since the staff was training, our only entree choice was making a selection of one of their many burgers. I opted for a black & blue burger with a 33% bacon patty. Despite being a brand new restaurant, the food was cooked & seasoned well, and the staff was very attentive. Vanilla milkshake for dessert was also great. The pizza and margaritas also looked pretty tasty. Sat against one of the garage door walls. It was nice when it was open. Very cool. This was our first time to Bubba's and it was no too bad. To begin with, the music was too loud for lunchtime and caused many people to talk loudly. I did, however, love the amount of televisions they have...almost three times the amount of the local Fox & Hound. I ordered teriyaki chicken wings, which were ok, however, I've had much better (not much taste) and a side salad, which didn't arrive at the table until almost five minutes after my entree of wings. I agree with the greasy fries. I liked the toasty, crispy bun on my bacon burger. I didn't taste much of a difference with bacon in the patty. I didn't like the Bubba sauce, but my hubby did. We ordered the layered fries, but figured later that we probably could have had the fries that came with the burger layered instead. I didn't like the skinny fries ... they tasted and felt a little funny. Kudos on a nice lump of Bleu cheese in the dressing. As for atmosphere, the music was really loud outside. It actually was quieter once we got inside the building. The family next to us was watching the many televisions and the dad kept swearing and yelling.
