I'll be generious because this is a local Escondido restraunt but 4 stars might be stretching it a bit. The food isn't bad but it's a tier less than the price they're selling it for. A small sandwich with bbq will run about $20 without a side. Most plates are pretty well sauced. Very sweet. Salads have a lot of dressing. Good option on a crowded Cruising Grand.

    Here's what the server said

Came here, asked for ONE beer and got the most backhanded attitude ever over and ID. That I voluntarily showed and was not hard about. And then gets mad that my friend didn't want to leave his change ($1.47 cents) because she was being an A HOLE to him too. Whats with servers and bartenders always acting so miserable. YOU APPLIED FOR THIS JOB YO!.......UPDATE. The server saw this post and DIRECTLY MESSAGED ME. Insane.

    Nice draft beer selection

First time visiting Bubba's and I was immediately struck by how beautiful this restaurant is. First from the facade outside, then inside with the airy tavern like vibe. Lot's of wood here which I appreciate. Although we dined inside it was pretty warm. Probably because the front of the restaurant is wide open, coupled with a myriad of skylights. Seems to be the norm for Grand Avenue these days. Service was quick, professional and reasonably friendly. Loved the draft beer selection here, served nice and cold. This establishment is not full bar unfortunately, so refering to it as a "sports bar" might be a misnomer. Men's room was clean, spacious and modern. I ordered the 1/4 Chicken Platter. Comes with one fixin' and a half slice of Texas Toast. Not sure who got the other half but that's ok... I was hoping for a leg quarter but it wound up being a breast quarter. Not sure if there's a choice here, but I wasn't asked. It was meaty, juicy and delicious, although watch out for small, random bones that manifest themselves when you chop a chicken breast in half that way. For the fixin' I chose my favorite, macaroni & cheese! I was impressed that it seemed like a house made mac and not all institutional tasting. It should have been served hotter though, it was just varying degrees of warm throughout. The menu is vast with many other things I would love to try so I look forward to visiting again soon.

Bubbas is pretty well decorated for a sports bar. It was 82 degrees outside but even in the back patio it did not feel hot. Our meal: Hot Girl Summer (drink) tastes like a lighter piña colada. Refreshing Brisket - pretty good, once you scrape off the layer of fat on each piece. Potato salad - lots of dill, tasty but my mom said it needed more salt. Texas toast- delicious. I wanted more. BBQ beans - very good, sweet, but a little too soupy. It's pricy but BBQ tends to be that way anywhere. Eating on grand is expected to cost more anyways.

Came for a quick Sunday lunch. We liked how open and spacious it was. We entered and was greeted and sat down at our choosing. There were TVs that ran along the bar which would make a fun time watching a game. We placed our orders for bbq chicken and chicken tenders. Food was good. Downside was it took a while for anyone to check in on us and our server disappeared when we wanted the check. Otherwise, seem like a fun space to hang with friends and watch a game.

Great service, beautiful new space and amazing food. Stopped here for a bite to eat and watch the Padres game. This place is new and just great. Lots of TV's which gives you views of the game from any angle - all of the screens are nice and new as well. Priscilla was behind the bar - she was fun to chat with and gave great service. She told us all about the place as it's just a few months since it opened. She gave us some recommendations and we landed on a burger, the bubba special, side of fries (huge portions and yummy) and kombucha on tap. Our food was really good, reasonably priced and big portions. You can tell everyone in the area can't wait for Grand to be open again. We will most certainly be back to try other items from the menu. There are lots of seating options including a large dining area in the back of the restaurant - you can enter from the back parking lot or off grand.

I thought it was a nice place with a balanced selection of food and drink. Like others said, ditch the bud light for a coors light to make the majority happy. Prices are a little high, but I get that the place is in the high rent district of downtown Escondido. Four beers, two IPAs and two Stellas were $44 before the add ons. Shout out to the wings though. They are fantastic. Also, Pricilla on her first day was awesome. I would certainly return but it would have to be a happy hour opportunity. Nice to see a new place in Escondido.

I went a few days ago during Cruisin Grand with a couple friends. We were bar/restaurant hopping so we weren't hungry enough to try a few things but we did have beer and wings. Wings came out hot and juicy. Beers were cold and fresh. Server was pleasant and attentive. Lots of TVs around to watch sports while having beers and BBQ.

Service was great. 1st time here. My husband wanted Bbq so thought we would give this a try. We were in the area visiting family. They had been recently and enjoyed the sliders. I was disappointed. My husband was going to order just 1/3 rack with a side of garlic mashed potatoes. I had him order 1/2 rack and I got a dinner salad. I figured I would take a couple of the ribs and add it as protein to my salad. The meat did come right off of the bone. I just didn't think it had great flavor. I requested a small side of BBQ sauce. That didn't help. I love a good BBQ sauce and this was not even close. It was very thin in consistency. My husband thought it was just fine. I thought the best thing was the Texas Toast. Beers were good and cold. Waitress was wonderful. But $80 later I left disappointed.

Bbq flat with sauce and cayenne. Avoid the brisket in general. Get the chicken.

Place is cool and clean, and the staff very friendly. They have a really cool outside patio with fire pits and a good vibe. Will be back!

Great service, nice ambiance. We got the wings and the potato skins. Both were good but please, skins needed more cheese.

Fantastic service, great staff. The food was amazing, had the baby back ribs and also had the brisket, which melts in your mouth.

Everyone is genuinely kind and welcoming, and you can tell they enjoy what they do. That warm customer service alone keeps us coming back. Unfortunately, the carne asada nachos missed the mark on our most recent visit. We appreciated that they use shredded cheese rather than nacho cheese, but after only about 8 minutes (when we opened the container to enjoy our nachos), the chips were chewy and tasted stale. The nachos were also fairly lackluster and could have used more toppings. It may have been the chips themselves being actually stale, or the foil container trapping too much heat and moisture. We will absolutely return because we love the staff and have had so many great meals here. We just hope they freshen up the chips or reconsider the packaging for items that can quickly become soggy.

Reminds me of a slice of pub in New York City. When New York City was worth noting. Huge screen TVs. I don't call it a sports bar. That can have a negative "man cave" impression. Yesterday, we watched the new Frankenstein film. It was awesome to not watch sports all over the room. However, women's sports was on the other TV. I could watch both. I was in heaven. The beer options are great. It seems every place promotes hazy beers. They have it too. Great wine options. While at the bar I order Lisa's delicious tacos. Staff are the best. Today, we ordered the classic lunch combo burger with fries-delicious and does not taste like freezer burn!!! There is a choice of not just beef, but also impossible, gluten free, and grass fed meats. All burgers are cooked to medium unless you specify otherwise. Easy to order-just go to the counter and order, pick a seat and wait for your meal. The interior dining area has plenty of seating and restrooms in the back. The outdoor patio looks nice enough for when it's a nice cool night, it is covered as well. Anyway, we'll be back since the menu looks super inviting because there are other choices besides burgers and the best thing is that they use a lot of local, fresh ingredients! They have a good selection of beer, milkshakes, and drinks. You order at the counter and they'll bring the food to your table. It's hard to find a burger place with all my favorites: an egg, bacon, and avocado. The bacon was crispy, the egg was medium and wasn't too runny, and the brioche bread was a little sweet and fluffy. They use angus beef for their patties. You can also split your fries which I love! I got to try the onion rings and sweet potato fries. I wish the sweet potato fries were crispy. They were more on the soggy side. The onion rings batter was a lil thicker than I like. The batter overpowered the onion. We also got the Cajun wings to try which was nice and crispy! They give you a few sauces on the side so you can dip it. I got the ranch which was so good with the wings, fries and burger. The milkshakes are pretty delicious! We got the classic vanilla one. It was a pretty thick shake so you know they use legit ice cream! I also liked the peach lemonade. I would check this place out if you're in the area!
