He was a mostly hairless Rex rat and he was sweet. We brought him home and set him up in an immaculate, large cage and he was doing okay. However, I noticed that in the following days, he was having breathing issues, was rubbing his nose and face constantly, etc. so I did some research and it seemed that he may have a respiratory infection. I made a vet appointment, but before I could get him there, I just found him dead in his cage. I AM WRITING THIS SO I CAN SAVE SOMEONE FROM BEING DEVASTATED AND HEARTBROKEN LIKE ME. It was laughed about that, "this happens when we don't have climate control in our warehouse." No effort was made to offer compensation or a price adjustment if I chose to purchase a different line of dog food instead from this Petco location. I asked for a discount such as 10% off of our purchase of a different brand of food due to the major health concern surrounding Wholehearted, yet the manager was unaccommodating. This response was extremely dismissive given the seriousness of the issue and I will never be returning as a Petco customer.
