I would give this company no stars, but unfortunately that is not an option. Please read this if…read moreyou are a current customer or if you are looking for a vet. I took my 6 year old German shepherd in because I thought he had an abscess on his butt. First off, I was charged $69.50 for a six month preventive care exam, and an additional $46.50 for an urgent care fee. Dr. Smith looked at the mass on my dogs butt, he did not touch it, he did not listen to the dogs heart, he did not look in the dogs eyes, or ears. He basically took $116 to view-at a distance- the mass. Ok, i give the dog the meds and take him back in for a checkup about a week later. Once again, Dr. Smith just looks-at a distance-and it is decided that we need to remove the mass. Great, surgery is scheduled for a couple of days from then. once again, the visit costs $69.50, and Dr. Smith has yet to put hands on my dog. Keep reading.....it gets better. Surgery day arrives, I take in my dog, drop him off, all is good. I head to work and get a call from Sarah Dalton, who informs me that there was a miscommunication and the office needs the high end of the estimate paid in full prior to them doing the dog's surgery. the estimation was anywhere from $1,569.33 to $2,263.33. We were told we had to have the money there before 8am. I have never heard of this being done before and it kind of shocked me. So, I called my son and he called in with his care credit. Sarah told him his account didn't exist. My kid was a bit upset because the account exists and she was harassing him for the money. He went in to pick up the dog. when he got there he was informed by Sarah that she felt we could not pay for the surgery......hmmm, discrimination, yup. I didn't know that Sarah Dalton had access to any of our accounts. we took the dog to Mount Hermon ---who I highly recommend--- to get the surgery that was needed. we found out that it is a bleeding probably cancerous tumor that she could not take off due to the area and the depth. She sent us to Greensboro oncology, they couldn't get us in for 3 weeks. So we made a decision to go back to this horrible place to have the tumor removed and let the poor dog have some sort of life with the little time remaining. We called and scheduled surgery. Oh, keep reading, cause it shows what these people are all about. I get a call on Monday after a very tough weekend, from none other than Sarah Dalton. She tells me that they are terminating our relationship due to the past inciden. Yup, you know the one where money was the most important part, and I was too poor to afford the surgery. I finish my workday and stop by their office on my way home. I ask to speak to Dr. Smith, who tells me that my son was disrespectful to his office staff, who sent a bleeding dog with a tumor on it butt home. DISRESPECTFUL, his staff declared us unable to PAY. SARAH DALTON and Dr. Smith are disrespectful to animals and their owners. HOW DARE SOME TWINKY DECIDE WHAT I CAN PAY FOR. THANK YOU SARAH DALTON. DON'T take you animals here, and tell everyone the same. Mount Harmon is great, take them there.

MEEEE-OW!!!! These guys rock!!!…read more I am a traveling contractor who does not get the opportunity to be at home with my pets very often and the majority of that responsibility goes to my partner. With an ill pet, all you want to know is, "Is he going to be ok?" "Is she getting better?" Our pets are more than a part of our family, they ARE our family. When my pet, Sparky, became distant and annoyed, and began to eat less, he also had a growth on his chin that I could not help him with...because I am not a doctor. Ah-ha! I reached out to HOPE Animal Rescue and I can't be more grateful. They stepped in and helped get Sparky to a veterinarian within a few days, after the application process was completed, and Sparky is a HAPPY CAT. Laurel was especially helpful in that she made the process seem like there wasn't a process...even though we all know what it takes to get things done today. Feats like this are not marginal notes in life...they are magnificent, loving, caring moments in time that help us to remember, "Wow. I really don't feel so alone out here in the world." I cannot say enough about HOPE Animal Rescue. In a way, Hope Animal Rescue rescued my pet AND me, because I was so distraught over what was happening to him and the not knowing is what creates the fear. Thank you to Laurel and the entire VOLUNTEER staff and businesses that help to support Hope Animal Rescue. You rescued the best part of me today...and if you're doing that for me, I know that you're doing this for a lot of other people. THANK YOU for all of the hard work that you're doing out there for the animals that aren't a part of our health care system.

Not to mention, they gave me the absolute greatest gift and the most perfect dog. I am so grateful to them for their cooperation and haste with the adoption. They have a specific system where you submit an application, meet a dog at an event, and demonstrate considerable interest in a dog. After that, you have a home visit and you get to adopt! Our dogs foster parents came to the adoption as well. Our dog is everything I could have wanted and more. Obedient, friendly, quiet and outrageously adorable. Thanks so much Hope Animal Rescue!!!
