Came by on a Thursday late night craving with a groups of friends. Haven't been to a Bubble Works in years. Good location and ample seating inside. Quiet around 11:00 pm but it got busier as more people came in for take out. They participate in the skip the dishes so that's a plus if you're loookijn for delivery. There's not many bubble tea places open late in Vanc. Tried the Japanese green milk tea with bubbles with 30% sugar. Tasted fine but as you get to the bottom of the drink you could really taste the coffee mate powder that was used. Bubbles were decent but not soft / fresh batch. Others in my group tried the wheat germ milk tea, green tea ice cream smoothie, and strawberry slush. Overall average location of local bubble tea chain.

Traditional Taiwanese Three Sauce Chicken ($8.95 + $2.50 for two sides and bowl of rice).

Bubble world is definitely a place if you are looking for inexpensive dishes. Now I haven't been here in the last year or so now and it looked like the restaurant had a renovation, as well as a new sign out front. It definitely looked more modern and sort of like pearl castle. There were four of us at 8:45 PM and we probably had to wait for about 5-10 minutes for a table. I ordered a passion fruit green tea (half sweet, less ice; $4.25), and the Traditional Taiwanese Three Sauce Chicken ($8.95), which I paid an extra $2.50 to make it a combo with two side dishes and a bowl of rice. Even though I ordered a half sweet for my passion fruit green tea, it was still a little too sweet for me. Other than that, it had a strong passion fruit flavour. I think the cups that they served the bubble tea in are slightly bigger than those at other bubble tea shops. I could be wrong though, but for $4.25 for a simple powder based passion fruit green tea was a little too pricey when the average price range for the drink is usually around $3.75. Maybe that is why I am trying to justify it by saying the cup is larger..I thought their food was cheaper than their drinks, as the food items were better in quality. I was always used to having my three cup chicken more pan-fried without any liquid. But the one at Bubble World had more sauce and not as crispy. Although it tasted good, the dish only had around 10 pieces of chicken. There were quite a few of tiny broken bones resulting from not cutting the pieces clean. The two side dishes I had were celery and wood-ear mushroom, and spicy (and saucy) cabbage and deep-fried tofu. I wasn't a fan of the latter one because the sauce tasted weird to me. However, I did like the celery and wood-ear mushrooms as it was light and refreshing. Overall, service could definitely be improved upon. The servers looked like they were mad at the whole world. But they did fill our water without having us hunt them down for it. They gave us the bill even though we weren't done with our drinks yet. The restaurant clearly had slowed down with no one waiting for a table. I didn't understand why we were rushed to pay.

My boyfriend and I had Bubble tea from Bubble World last week. We had a great experience at Bubble World. I ordered Peach Green Tea and he had Blueberry white chocolate milk tea. We arrived at the Bubble World after the dinner time. It was not busy in the restaurant. We didn't even wait for long. We got our bubble tea fast. My peach green tea was sweet and fresh icy. The Blueberry white chocolate milk tea was very creamy and sweet. Both of the drinks were around $4 each, which were not too expensive. We love them.

I went to this "franchise-like" bubble tea joint, to pick up a regular milky tea. This is one of the original locations that I often come to, and it is one of the more convient ones. No little chinese snacks, just strictly drinks at this location, unlike the one up the block near Metrotown. Acouple points that I have deducted, and they are very minimal, to people who have gone to Bubble World over the years, they do not accept the stamp card anymore. So any drinks you were expecting to get for free from your filled up cards will have to go to the garbage. Also they still are a "Chinese" place, which means = CASH ONLY. They did renovate this location, and there is free Wi-Fi internet, so a minor plus. Other than that, it's still the old Bubble World that I have grown up on.

Went for a late night treat with my boyfriend! I've been coming to this location for just over 10 years now and have never had a bad experience. Staff are always friendly and knowledgable, they also have very good tea suggestions to first time customers. This location has been re-modeled at least 3 times in the last decade and currently looks it's best. It's casual but classy at the same time, has a very open and clean look and feel. Only place I will ever get bubble tea from because their fruit is fresh and not powder and the pearls and jelly are made fresh every day and not from a jar like 99% of places in Vancouver. If it's your first time trying bubble tea I would highly suggest this establishment, You will not be disappointed!

Ah... Bubble World! Is there anything as refreshing as a cool bubble tea on a hot summer day? What about Shave Ice? Yup, I'm just going to drop this right here and let you drool a bit. Plenty of fresh fruit here on top of the shaved ice. Check out our last post here. Bubble World has a number of other locations in the Lower Mainland and not all of them carry the same menu items.

My first time trying this place I've seen it all over Instagram. However, I'm vegan and don't consume dairy so I got the slush. It was just like a slurpee in my opinion. Also the waitress made us force tip and I don't think she gave us the correct change. It's still a fun place to try with friends!

This location is great. It's usually kinda packed but I've never waited that much for a seat. Their food is pretty good and reasonably priced. What I enjoy here is their bubble tea! If you're dining it then they give you a pretty generous amount (I can never finish it), and you can always take it home. Their beef brisket on rice and Chinese pancakes are my favourite!

5 item shaved ice: Papaya, Watermelon, Strawberry, Green Apple Jelly, Mango Stars
    Brent L.

I've been here a long time ago for their bubble tea. At the time, they seemed like the latest and greatest place to get it, but with many other alternatives now available, it's fallen a lot lower on my list. Was actually looking for a place that served shaved ice for dessert today, and given that I didn't realize Icy Bar didn't open until much later that afternoon, I decided to give Bubble World a shot. The shaved ice comes out to be 7.60 and comes with your choice of 5 toppings. I ordered strawberry, watermelon, papaya, green apple jelly and mango stars. Although the watermelon was ripe, the papaya and strawberry definitely tasted like it could have been left to ripen a smidge longer. The stars and apple jelly were fine though. The price is pretty comparable to other places around, though if you're looking for fruit toppings, maybe those other places might do a bit better.

Avocado/papaya milk, no sugar, plus aloe - $5.50
    Evan B.

Same delicious tea as the one downtown but slightly cheaper I believe. It's less crowded than the other options on Kingsway and thus much more pleasant to sit inside. They have a stamp card that is used exclusively for this store. Will be back if in the area.

    Jelizatin E.

Bubble World was one of the, if not, the first real popular bubble tea establishment around the city. Unfortunately, other bubble tea shops have surpassed them in both quality and value (Bubble World does not use the stamp cards anymore, too bad). We'd only come back if we were absolutely craving bubble tea and nothing else was open.

The gentleman (owner?) greeted us and provided us with some suggestions on their best sellers. During our dining experience, he was a little loud with shouting instructions to the kitchen and we did feel a bit rushed to finish our meal and not occupy the table with diners lining up. I ordered the beef noodle soup, and the noodles were prepared well (good texture and not soggy) and the soup had a slight but not overwhelm sour taste from the preserved vegetables. The beef wasn't as tender as it could be, but it wasn't chewy or tough to eat. Prices are reasonable at around $20 after tax and tips. While it wasn't the best or most authentic beef noodle soup I've had, it does hit the spot if I'm craving Taiwanese food downtown or want a hot bowl of noodle soup on a cold day.

I think most people do that so it also gets filled up during the lunch hour rush. The food is ok, nothing special. The price increase makes it even less appealing. I don't know why there is chili in my Taiwanese beef noodle soup. I don't like spicy soup. Lucky I am ok with spice but I wish it is stated in the menu? So if you cannot take spicy food, check with them before ordering. The beef noodle soup is tasty as I do like the addition of pickled vegetables in it, giving a bit of tartness. The beef is tender though the quantity is very little. More noodles than meat ratio. The combo is totally not worth it now that the price has gone up to about $13. If you want rice and noodle for lunch, I think Peaceful Restaurant across the street is a better bet. At least the portion is bigger.

Classic Brown Sugar Ice Bear $16+: definitely very fun and cute, and it's a shareable size. I liked how there was a layer of grass jelly and chewy konjac jelly on the bottom for added texture. The snout is made of ice cream and topped with a pair of Oreo ears. I'd recommend eating it quickly or perhaps getting a separate bowl to mix it. The ice is traditional Taiwanese-styled, so it is coarse and therefore doesn't absorb the syrup as well as bingsoo for example (which is fine/powdery ice). Soft Serve w/ Freeze Dried Fruit 6+: you can also get the soft serve in a cone which is about $1 cheaper, but you can't add toppings to it. I really liked the real freeze-dried fruits, especially the blueberries. There are other fruits available too (eg. Strawberries, raspberry, pistachio etc) which are all addition $2. The blackberries were a bit to big and had lots of seeds, so the texture was a bit too crunchy mixed with the soft ice cream. Dried blueberries were amazing though and jam packed with flavour. Since it's real fruit, some of them may be quite sour (which I actually enjoyed) as it pairs well with the sweetness of the soft serve. Soft Serve w/ Brown Sugar Pearls $6+: brown sugar syrup wasn't too sweet, so I enjoyed this as well. My favourite would still be adding freeze dried blueberries though, as it's more unique and fruity (personal preference) Espresso Meets Grass Jelly & Gelato $8+: pretty strong coffee drink, unlike a lot of bubble tea/dessert places, so I'd only recommend it to regular coffee drinkers (me). The drink is served hot with a scoop of gelato which melts very quickly. LOTS of soft grass jelly - you'll definitely get a mouthful of it every sip. Good amount of sweetness for me.
