a plate of fried seafood and rice

Had dinner with other 3 friends at this location and we we're happy with our experienced. The restaurant is not very busy for dine-in but very busy with mobile order pickup. The place was huge and cozy. Staff are friendly and acknowledged you very quick when you needed something. All the foods we've ordered are very good. The squid tentacles and beef noodles are my favorite and of course the bubble tea.

Mostly anyone who loves bubble tea is probably familiar with Bubble World. I was invited to the New Westminster location and the dishes that I tried didn't disappoint. My sister and I especially enjoyed the beef soup. The soup is seasoned well but the beef is the highlight. It was so tender. We also liked the salt and pepper chicken nuggets. They were crispy, delicious and they were not greasy at all. They have tons of bubble tea to choose from and I think their bubble teas are cheaper compared to others but the taste and quality of their drinks can compete with the more expensive ones that I've tried. My sister had the green tea with cream foam and she loved it. I had the pina colada which is so refreshing especially with the additional toppings, of jelly, boba, and pudding. Also, they are one of the few bubble tea shops that still have the coffee jelly topping. They let us taste different toppings and we loved them. The manager mentioned that their pudding topping is made from scratch. If you are in the New West area, try this place. It's a short walk from the train station.

If you miss the food in Southeast Asia, this is probably one of the places to head to for something close to it. I love the chicken nugget (or popcorn chicken as called in Singapore). Deep fried and crispy, it goes very well with the house garlic sauce. I also like the simple noodle soup with minced meat and egg. This place will be perfect if they also serve chili like those found in Asia. This will be one of my regular places when I have craving for Taiwanese style noodle soup and fried chicken nuggets.

Salty peppery chicken nuggets. My fav!

I'm a big fan of this Bubble World location. The parking situation is slightly better here, especially late at night. It's also less crowded and quieter. I've never been disappointed with the food here (or any Bubble World location for that matter). The food is always consistent, arrives quickly and offer good value for the price. I'm a huge fan of the salty peppery chicken nuggets, but so far everything I've tried has been great. I find the service here better than the Metrotown location. We are always greeted and seated promptly, and our orders were taken quickly. Will continue to visit frequently! Open until midnight is a plus too!

Original milk tea - tasted more like milk than milk tea and the pearls were more mushy than chewy

Disclaimer: This review is limited to just the quality of the bubble tea. We didn't try any food options at the restaurant, and just ordered take out for the drinks. My family and I drove to Vancouver all the way from Southern California, and back home we call our bubble tea "boba" so the change in language was definitely very interesting. I've visited some of the best bubble tea spots in SoCal so my standards for bubble tea are pretty high... Bubble world was my introduction to Canadian "bubble tea." It was the nearest bubble tea spot near my cousin's place in New Westminster so we decided to give it a shot. They have a pretty roomy space and a very wide selection of drinks. I was actually surprised at how many drinks they had to offer compared to most other shops that I've been to back home. They even had Papaya Milk Tea, which I've never heard of before. Initially, I wanted to try out their green milk tea, but I ended up ordering their Osmanthus Oolong - one of my all time favorite flavors back home. I was surprised they had that option. I was so excited to try their drinks! I gotta admit though, I was a little disappointed with everything. Their Osmanthus Oolong tasted so plain, almost like the standard "gas station" black tea. The worst part was the quality of their pearls. They we're not chewy at all, and I bit through them so easily. They felt more like a sticky mush, than a chewy treat. Their pearls even had this strange "sour" aftertaste. The real test was trying out their original milk tea. My brother ordered it and I took quite a few sips to try it out. Their milk tea tasted nothing like anything I've had before - in a bad way. You couldn't taste any hint of tea at all, and it felt like all I was drinking was milk. For a place that specializes in bubble tea, I expected so much more. Maybe their food tastes better? Maybe I'll have to try out their other flavors? After my first experience, I don't plan on giving it a second chance.

One of my favorite places for bubble tea, well fresh fruit slush in my case. Nice atmosphere for a group gathering, or checking out your phone with the house wifi. Oh and be sure to try salty chicken balls (yup they are a thing)

    Raspberry slush $5.25
    Ally S.

Got the raspberry slush ($5.50 after tax). You get a huge glass, it was tasty and I did like that it had real raspberries. I usually don't care for cold drinks, and although you do get your money's worth, I don't care for it enough to get it again. I'd most likely try a different flavour, but not any time soon.

I overheard the staff mentioned it would be on till Tuesday, so run and get your drink now. I had both the pearl and boba version of the brown sugar milk with cream mousse. I much prefer the pearl (mini size) as they were tiny. Just be careful not to inhale too quickly as they can go down the wrong pipe. I had the boba version 1-2 hours later and it was not as good. The boba was very hard and tough. I guess the soft chewiness was due to the heat. Shake the drink and watch the brown sugar streaked across the milk creating stripes similar to a tiger. And that was the reason for the name of the shop. Tiger Sugar. I read that somewhere, how true it is, I have no idea. It makes a good background story though. The menu is not extensive with lots of slush or fruity drinks. This place really just specializes in brown sugar drink -- in milk, tea and coffee.

There are 4 drinks to choose from, Early grey milk tea, Honeydew slush, Passionfruit green tea and QQ peach. I got the Passionfruit green tea and QQ peach, both with no ice and 80% sugar. Things started off rocky as I had to repeat my order a couple of times and correct the sweetness that he entered. I followed the wording on their chart and asked for less sweet (80% sweet), but he entered in 50% sweet. Additionally, instead of entering in the promotional value, he entered both drinks at full price, so I had to get him to correct that as well. I asked them if I could use my own glass mugs and he said yes. He never asked me for them and turned away to finish making the other customers' orders, so I placed my glass mugs where he had the other orders lined up. I noticed that he was beginning to make my drinks, but he grabbed a disposable cup. So, I had to go up and confirm that he was remembering to use my mugs. Overall, I waited 11 minutes for my drinks. There were 3 customers before me, 2 in store and one who pre-ordered. Taking my past experiences with wait times into consideration, this seemed to be on the longer side of things. To top this all off, when I finally tried my drinks (at home) they tasted diluted. You can see that my peach drink basically looks like lightly colored water. I couldn't really taste the peach. They may have also skimped on the coconut jelly and pearls as well. The passionfruit tasted mostly of tea and could have used more sweetness. If I were to order these two drinks again, I would get 100% sugar. Normally 80% is perfect for me, but I've never ordered either of this drinks before, so I can't be sure if he made my drink incorrectly, or if it's the sweetness level that changed the flavor intensity. If I were to base my experience on today's interaction alone, I would never go back. However, I've come here many times in the past and have always had great customer service. Perhaps the person working was new.

I tend to select this whenever I am in the mood for a fruity flavour and it's on the menu. Admittedly, it's kinda hard to mess up. This time around, it was nice and refreshing without any large unwanted chunks of ice. This location is rather quite compared to other Chatimes and I enjoy that. It means that whenever I do want to sit down for a convo over boba a table is typically available. I do miss the old doll-catcher machine that used to be here.

Dakasi bubble tea was in this space previously but it seems that you can still get their drinks here as all of the cups have the Dakasi name printed on them. The people working here were friendly and polite; however, I do think they could have been a bit more helpful when it came to food selection. My bowl of food came with a "vegetable" soup and as they knew that I had ordered a Vegan bowl I would have thought that if the soup contained meat in it, they would inform me of it. It was only when I sat down to drink my soup and saw pieces of meat in it that I realized it was not a meat free vegetable soup. I ended up giving the rest of the soup to my daughter. Also, there was a bean curd product that looked like noodles which I selected for my bowl. This item turned out to be quite spicy. I was able to tolerate the spice level but with any food item that's spicy, I think it would be good for a shop to give the customer some warning about it. My daughter was sharing this bowl with me, and she had more troubles than me with handling the spice level.
