a plate of fried seafood and rice

Had dinner with other 3 friends at this location and we we're happy with our experienced. The restaurant is not very busy for dine-in but very busy with mobile order pickup. The place was huge and cozy. Staff are friendly and acknowledged you very quick when you needed something. All the foods we've ordered are very good. The squid tentacles and beef noodles are my favorite and of course the bubble tea.

Mostly anyone who loves bubble tea is probably familiar with Bubble World. I was invited to the New Westminster location and the dishes that I tried didn't disappoint. My sister and I especially enjoyed the beef soup. The soup is seasoned well but the beef is the highlight. It was so tender. We also liked the salt and pepper chicken nuggets. They were crispy, delicious and they were not greasy at all. They have tons of bubble tea to choose from and I think their bubble teas are cheaper compared to others but the taste and quality of their drinks can compete with the more expensive ones that I've tried. My sister had the green tea with cream foam and she loved it. I had the pina colada which is so refreshing especially with the additional toppings, of jelly, boba, and pudding. Also, they are one of the few bubble tea shops that still have the coffee jelly topping. They let us taste different toppings and we loved them. The manager mentioned that their pudding topping is made from scratch. If you are in the New West area, try this place. It's a short walk from the train station.

If you miss the food in Southeast Asia, this is probably one of the places to head to for something close to it. I love the chicken nugget (or popcorn chicken as called in Singapore). Deep fried and crispy, it goes very well with the house garlic sauce. I also like the simple noodle soup with minced meat and egg. This place will be perfect if they also serve chili like those found in Asia. This will be one of my regular places when I have craving for Taiwanese style noodle soup and fried chicken nuggets.

Salty peppery chicken nuggets. My fav!

I'm a big fan of this Bubble World location. The parking situation is slightly better here, especially late at night. It's also less crowded and quieter. I've never been disappointed with the food here (or any Bubble World location for that matter). The food is always consistent, arrives quickly and offer good value for the price. I'm a huge fan of the salty peppery chicken nuggets, but so far everything I've tried has been great. I find the service here better than the Metrotown location. We are always greeted and seated promptly, and our orders were taken quickly. Will continue to visit frequently! Open until midnight is a plus too!

Original milk tea - tasted more like milk than milk tea and the pearls were more mushy than chewy

Disclaimer: This review is limited to just the quality of the bubble tea. We didn't try any food options at the restaurant, and just ordered take out for the drinks. My family and I drove to Vancouver all the way from Southern California, and back home we call our bubble tea "boba" so the change in language was definitely very interesting. I've visited some of the best bubble tea spots in SoCal so my standards for bubble tea are pretty high... Bubble world was my introduction to Canadian "bubble tea." It was the nearest bubble tea spot near my cousin's place in New Westminster so we decided to give it a shot. They have a pretty roomy space and a very wide selection of drinks. I was actually surprised at how many drinks they had to offer compared to most other shops that I've been to back home. They even had Papaya Milk Tea, which I've never heard of before. Initially, I wanted to try out their green milk tea, but I ended up ordering their Osmanthus Oolong - one of my all time favorite flavors back home. I was surprised they had that option. I was so excited to try their drinks! I gotta admit though, I was a little disappointed with everything. Their Osmanthus Oolong tasted so plain, almost like the standard "gas station" black tea. The worst part was the quality of their pearls. They we're not chewy at all, and I bit through them so easily. They felt more like a sticky mush, than a chewy treat. Their pearls even had this strange "sour" aftertaste. The real test was trying out their original milk tea. My brother ordered it and I took quite a few sips to try it out. Their milk tea tasted nothing like anything I've had before - in a bad way. You couldn't taste any hint of tea at all, and it felt like all I was drinking was milk. For a place that specializes in bubble tea, I expected so much more. Maybe their food tastes better? Maybe I'll have to try out their other flavors? After my first experience, I don't plan on giving it a second chance.

One of my favorite places for bubble tea, well fresh fruit slush in my case. Nice atmosphere for a group gathering, or checking out your phone with the house wifi. Oh and be sure to try salty chicken balls (yup they are a thing)

Got the raspberry slush ($5.50 after tax). You get a huge glass, it was tasty and I did like that it had real raspberries. I usually don't care for cold drinks, and although you do get your money's worth, I don't care for it enough to get it again. I'd most likely try a different flavour, but not any time soon.

Just raised prices by $2 per item by now making you pay for rice and side dishes that were previously included in all meals. Kind of lame.

Chinese food can often be quite greasy but this food was not, and I loved that about it. This location in New Westminster is the second location of Dragon Bowl. I love how the bowls are customizable. There are options for omnivores, vegetarians and even vegans. You can also get bubble tea drinks here. Dakasi bubble tea was in this space previously but it seems that you can still get their drinks here as all of the cups have the Dakasi name printed on them. The people working here were friendly and polite; however, I do think they could have been a bit more helpful when it came to food selection. My bowl of food came with a "vegetable" soup and as they knew that I had ordered a Vegan bowl I would have thought that if the soup contained meat in it, they would inform me of it. It was only when I sat down to drink my soup and saw pieces of meat in it that I realized it was not a meat free vegetable soup. I ended up giving the rest of the soup to my daughter. Also, there was a bean curd product that looked like noodles which I selected for my bowl. This item turned out to be quite spicy. I was able to tolerate the spice level but with any food item that's spicy, I think it would be good for a shop to give the customer some warning about it. My daughter was sharing this bowl with me, and she had more troubles than me with handling the spice level. Aside from the soup and spice blunders, I did enjoy the food here and would most certainly come back again. I chose to go Vegan for this visit but the marinated egg looked very tempting so I may choose to go Vegetarian next time! Yes, get The Gaucho "Cowboy", but also try the Butter Chicken, Vegetarian Chili and my favourite, the Le Montreal. ALL the poutines rocked! The burgers are juicy and full of flavour. This group has found a way to marry all the flavours so they complement each other all through the meal until the end. Portion size was another crazy, happy surprise. So much so that the cost no longer matters (as you may have guessed, the cost was reasonable). Still, if it's just a couple of you, you might go regular as opposed to jumbo...unless you're thinking late night leftovers. We pigged-out and didn't get a chance to reheat this food. Mistake on my part. 05/25

Service the same, but today was on a whole new level, and not in a good way. We were sat quickly by a young man, who was friendly. Our server brought us waters with ice and lemon as asked. We ordered a couple of beverages which were dropped in a reasonable amount of time. When we asked for a few minutes to peruse the menu we got plenty of time to do that. PLENTY! I finally stood up and asked the other server if we could please place our order, who then brought us to the attention of our own server. She came over and oh have you had time to decide? No apology for the twenty minutes we had sat. Another couple came in after us, ordered and had the food delivered, by the other server, before we even placed ours. Ordered, asked for our water to be refilled. Never happened. I finally asked another gentleman if we could have more water, and he got it right away. When our food was dropped, there was no mention of our water miraculously appearing. The food was boring, bland, and not overly generous in the portions. My fish pieces were large, but mainly batter, the fries were hot but as soon as they cooled a little they were very greasy. The coleslaw tasted like nothing at all. The lovely K has the Cajun chicken Cobb salad. The presentation was nice, but it was equally underwhelming. The left 3/4's of my plate. We tried the braised combo (pork ear, pork intestines, fish cake), Taiwanese egg wrap, braised pork sauce rice with deep fried pork chop, and yam taro mochi balls. The braised combo is pretty solid - I didn't really like the funkiness to the intestines (I generally enjoyed it in barbecue settings) but the fish cake was fantastic. I also liked the texture of the pork ears. The Taiwanese egg wrap was a bit tasteless, so I wouldn't recommend. Braised pork sauce rice is the lu ruo fan which is a large portion with seaweed, bean sprouts, and soup on the side. Pork chop was flavorful and juicy but not crispy batter, which is okay. Yam taro mochi balls were sweet and chewy. I don't like taro but I loved this dessert! Service is okay. They give a water jug for self pour but the water jug was of questionable cleanliness. The specials were not discounted so we called it out and we weren't told that we had to put the order with a server, not the QR code, so it was a strange interaction. They ended up honoring the discount. Also, they shut down ordering 1 min before 10:30pm - guess they didn't want more money as we wanted to order 1 more dish and they preemptively told the kitchen to close.
