Elixir specializes in mushroom coffee and other healthy tonics. And I was able to chat with the owner for a bit about his business and passion behind it. It's clear he is very knowledgeable. He was eager to take me through the menu. And I ended up getting a caffeine-free chai latte, that was perfectly sweet and hit the spot. This spot has blends you can buy and take home. I also like how this business seeks to give people an alternative to bars, when you want to get out, sip on something, but be careful about it. This is definitely worth a visit to learn more.

After an hour - yes - tarot time! An added perk is its attachment to Eggs Over Frankfort. The staff in the cafe, who was very sweet and helpful, let me know I can order food from them and still enjoy their cafe! I will definitely be back for a drink with Crescent Hill, then a meal from next door. I absolutely love the openness of working together, both uplifting each other, and therefore uplifting the community. This is what I love about living in Louisville.

I got an Americano, which is usually my go-to if I don't know how strong the house drip will be. The Americano was nice and smooth. I didn't have to wait long at all for my coffee. I visited on a weekday during the morning, and there were two people ahead of me, but the line went fast and my coffee came out quickly.

Personally, I found the ambiance a bit too spooky for focusing, especially at night. I am just not a big fan of that kind of setting (haha). The staff is so lovely and very helpful. But we all know what we are here for, the coffee, and it's top notch. The spring fling cold foam is delicious and pairs well with all the iced drinks. There is a stigma with local coffee not being as good or consistent compared to chains but you won't find that here. Albeit, they were huge, probably 5" rounds. We decided to get a box of 4 and went with a chocolate chip, a key lime, a sugar cookie with sprinkles, and a peanut butter cup one. Lemme say, all 4 of them hit every mark; delicious! The chocolate chip had crisp edges, which is EXACTLY how I like them! Probably won't make a trip back, but I'd stop back in if I'm in the area.
