I came by around 11a on a Saturday morning and the shop was full of people. I was there to pick up a Christmas gift of Yeti winter blend and the line moved quickly. Since I wouldn't be handing them off for a couple of weeks, I opted not to have the beans ground; however, the team will handle that step for you. No available seats for anyone incoming. Thankfully, my intent was not to hang out today or I'd have left to find a spot elsewhere. Small private lot, but most often you'll need to find street parking. Updating my previous review. This place has made significant improvements since first opening. Great seasonal drinks, I love the apple cider add some Carmel, it's great hot or cold, wish they had it all the time. If you happen to be in when they have jelly pockets make sure you pick one up, especially the chia one, it's to die for. I'm not a coffee girl but my hubby says the espresso is the best in town. We have to stop in at least once a month to grab coffee beans for the house. All the staff are super nice, it's an all around great place to grab a drink and hang out. read more

This is a great coffee shop if you are looking for a place with lots of tables! The coffee menu is pretty standard, but they do have a decent meal selection. I went with a classic iced caramel latte and it was great! Only downside is it is loud in here and there are not many outlets! So dont expect to take any meetings here. I am still thinking about my caramel latte from sungeros, it was that good! This quaint Louisville coffee shop has homey feel and retro vibe - I loved the touch of the coffee newspapers and live plants around the tables. The menu is straight forward - not a lot of seasonal specials that is (although they did have a mint julep cold brew for derby!) but have some flavoring options and all the essentials. I loved my caramel latte, it was the perfect sweetness without overpowering the coffee roast flavor and so creamy and soft. Service was quick and very friendly despite it being a bit busy on a Sunday morning. Also had the cheddar and chive biscuit which was good but nothing too special. I've always liked Sunergos coffee, even when I'm drinking it at locations that aren't under that name. It's really great coffee despite my being less than 100% sure I know how to pronounce the name. This location is no different. Amazing brew, well made drinks, and a good selection of small items. The room has a funky, eclectic feel. I don't think there are two matching chairs. Lots of small tables as well. When we visited, the place was packed and we ended up sharing a coffee table with two strangers who were extremely welcoming. Service is very good. Prices are on par with what you expect for good coffee. Parking is not designated but the front door is easy to find. read more

I don't know how they do it so consistently, although I think that their relatively limited menu allows them to place most of their focus on the coffee, instead of a bunch of complicated drinks that are designed to suppress the taste of the coffee itself. This is a wonderful eclectic coffee and pastry shop. The furniture is well used secondhand furniture meant to give a comfortable living room feel. I don't get to Louisville very often but when I do, I have to have Sunergos. The coffee is amazing. I've tried almost every coffee drink they have and have loved every one. I'm happy with a cup of their drip coffee. They've struck the perfect balance of acidity and sweetness/bitterness. So flavorful. The cortado is one of the best you'll ever have. The staff is always friendly and helpful. It seems like a good place to work or study but I've never taken an opportunity to do that there. I've had meetings and the noise level is quiet enough to allow for good conversation but not quiet enough that everyone hears what you're saying. Great place! read more

This place was recommended to me but it was unfortunate that the service wasn't good, which is the only reason why I gave it 3 stars. The two people working had a bad attitude. The barista never made eye contact with us the whole time we ordered and just kept her head down. The other tossed our pastry on the counter after she put it a bag. Not placed, tossed. This place has had issues with their staff protesting and demanding a union. Too bad because I think the quality of service has gone down since. There are better coffee shops to go to. First time to a Sunergos and would go back. We sat outside on a hot, sunny day, but felt comfortably cool under the shade of the back patio. The inside is a wide and open room, so I suppose it could become loud during busy periods, but it wasn't too bad on a weekday afternoon. I noticed that the majority of customers seem to lean toward high school or college-aged and many of that ilk were studying or conversing over books, which presented a purposeful vibe to the coffeehouse. Probably because it was a weekday afternoon and a slow period, it took a while for the one operating barista to mix our and a couple other customers' beverages. This would only be a problem if I was in a hurry, but certainly wasn't an uncomfortable amount of time to wait when my entire purpose was to spend time with my companion. My iced, chai latte tasted good, but wasn't fully mixed showing powedery streaks around my cup. My companion's alternative milk, iced mocha disappeared quickly and was very refreshing. read more

A new location near me? Love it! I don't got to Sunergos often but their teas are great! I got the peach tea, while my friends got chai and a cortado. The space is the same theme as their other locations. Random mismatched furniture, muted earthy tones, hipster baristas. They played a good selection of music too. The only drawback is parking. There's a tiny parking lot on the side but it's awkward to get out depending on which side you park in the lot. There's also a few parallel spots. read more

Their new location in St Matthews is darling while staying truly on brand with their wall colors, incredible coffee and bean selection, and mismatched vintage vibed furniture. Absolute perfection for your next coffee date. We can't make it into a Sunergos location as often as we'd like, so we always purchase beans to go. They can grind them for you at the shop but we prefer to take them whole and grind as we use them. Highly recommend always trying the seasonal blends (green-labeled bags) when you have the opportunity. These limited-time blends are always some of my favorites! read more

Definitely excited about this new location in St. Matthews!! Favorite local coffee shop- hands down. I have been a long time customer of the other locations, & I'm so excited to see them in my neighborhood. My go to order is a Oat milk Miele (hot or iced) -honey, cinnamon, and whatever milk you choose and it's ALWAYS 12/10 delicious, no matter what location you go to! The parking here has options but there's only about 10 spots right around the building that are usually full. They really utilize the space and it has the same cozy Sunergos feeling that the other locations do. They also offer a frequent customer card- so your 12th drink is free. They do it for beans too! We also buy their whole coffee beans for home :) The last 3 times I went, the line was long, but no one left because it's just THAT GOOD. read more

I've been to Sunergos in St. Matthews on two occasions now. My first time was on a Wednesday around 11:00. While not slammed at that time, most seating was occupied by working individuals. My second time was on a Saturday around 9:45 in the morning, and I had to wait at least 15-20 minutes to get my drink. This is not a reflection of poor service: They were just that busy! As for the real reason people read reviews, I thoroughly enjoy their coffee. I've noticed a lot of local coffee shops have bitter coffee, and I have not found this to be the case at Sunergos. I've gotten the Iced Caramel Latte on both occasions, and it's a truly perfect blend of flavors. I should probably branch out, but I am a creature of habit. I also thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere! Way too crowded for what it is. Seems to attract a large number of seminarians who camp out at tables for excessive spans of time. I've even seen people (who appear to be friends with the baristas) take up tables without ordering anything. The espresso drinks are still top notch, but go to Heine Brothers if you want a chance at a seat. read more
