This salon has been open for about a month so everything is new. I had a really good experience with my stylist Rosa. She really listened to what I wanted and we had a thorough conversation about what was going to happen (highlights/cut/blowout) and how it was going to turn out before anything even got started. We reviewed the cost as well prior to what was to be done so that I was okay with the cost and wasn't going to be surprised at the end. I liked my stylist and I like the salon. While I was there I watched a baby getting his 1st haircut, a 9 year old get her hair styled and many others of all ages come in. It was a pleasant experience and I would go back. read more

Bubbles at Seneca Meadows is just plain awesome! The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. My wife and I both went together to get our haircut, both stylists took their time in cutting our hair and it came out just like we had asked. Make sure you ask for Neda!! She was my wife's stylist and was absolutely wonderful! She took her time and was very meticulous. They also have other services like eyebrow threading/waxing. Tonight I had an emergency repair of a very bad cut elsewhere. Alicia saw me before close and consulted me and talked about the options that I had. I am not connected to my hair, but was definitely not to happy with such a bad cut. Alicia worked a miracle and gave me a nice bob that was stylish and current. You can tell she loves what she does. After much thought and consideration I decided to write an updated review. My second visit to Bubbles was a little over 2 weeks ago. I had a return appointment with Stephanie for another cut and color. As we had discussed at my last appointment, the plan for the day was to kick up the color another notch, going from the glaze to something more intense and more noticeable. I got a warm greeting from Stephanie and once again my interaction with her was like being with an old friend. Unfortunately that's the only positive thing I have to say about the 4 hours I spent there that Saturday morning. Stephanie clipper cut my hair then discussed color options. We decided on a shade and after discussing with her coworker informed me that I would have to bleach my hair in order to get the desired effect. No problem with me... It took 2 processes to get my hair lightened. I realize my hair is dark but I also noticed the bleach not being applied thoroughly to my hair-there were dark spots where the bleach hadn't reached and after the first run I looked like a cheetah. I was patient and submitted to a second round and a longer sitting time. The second process was a huge improvement and we proceeded with the color... Which turned out to be bright orange... Stephanie mixed up another darker shade to correct things and even though I wasn't 100% pleased with the final color I thought it was something I could live with. After spending so much time there I really was ready to go home. My hair never looks "done" when I have left the salon-mainly because the products they use don't do anything for my hair. EcoStyler gel is my best friend and the salon's high end mousses and creams don't work for me at all. The pictures I post are after I've done my hair myself at home. Normally I leave the salon looking cleaned and trim but my curly hair is in a rougher/unfinished state. Before I got out of the chair I noticed one side of my head wasn't blended- I could clearly see the line between the top and sides where the different guards had been used to cut. I pointed it out and Stephanie went over it a bit with a comb and scissors- the rest she said was how my hair was curling... I paid about $150 for the cut and color processes only to get home and burst into tears. The color on the top of my head was a darker orange (which I thought I could live with) but there were still yellow and brighter orange spots all over my head where the color never processed. Hair dye was still all over my skin and outlined on my forehead ( I was able to remove it with some rubbing alcohol). The cut was HORRIBLE... There was a jagged line going all across my head where the hair had not been blended from using the different clipper guards. It looked like a child had gone rogue with clippers to my head. My sideburns were uneven and shaved way too short. Needless to say I was not only shocked but upset. After having such a great first visit I was struck dumb as to how a simple clipper cut could have gone so wrong and most importantly HOW CAN YOU LET A CLIENT LEAVE YOUR SALON LOOKING LIKE THIS. I know more than one person looked in our direction during my time in Stephanie's chair and definitely some eyes were on me as I walked out. But not a word was said. I don't know if some advice was offered but declined or ignored or if the salon is a place where people feel like what a stylist does with their client is left up to them. Whatever the case may be this will be my last visit to this salon. If I want to look like a beauty school experiment gone wrong I can stay home and play Frankenstein myself. Thankfully I had a box of Féria Hair Color by L'Oréal in burgundy brown that was dark enough to cover everything and a pair of mini clippers- it took me a while to blend my hair (and my sideburns are STILL not growing in correctly 2+ weeks later..) but I looked like a normal human being again. I appreciate the time Stephanie took while I was with her but I feel like had she paid more attention (maybe been more knowledgeable?) we wouldn't have spent so much time with the bleach and color process. As for the cut, I think it was a plain case of lack of attention. My personal opinion of her hasn't changed (I think she is a warm individual and I wish her the best) but being nice isn't sufficient enough to put your hair in someone's hands-especially after looking the way I did. I did receive a call from customer service (after leaving feedback on their website) and they will be sending me a refund. read more

I love this salon! I've read undesirable reviews about it but tried it out anyway. I moved from the century Blvd salon to this Seneca meadows location because it was easier to get to and had better parking. It has all the same products, great reception service, the stylists are all so friendly and the parking us WAY BETTER! Rosa is amazing. I would recommend her to any woman with black hair. She gives you advice on what is best and will work best for your hair. Trims are trims and she understands that everyone wants to keep their length. I wanted to get layers during my most recent visit but she said based on how I wear my hair on a daily basis one length would work best; not to mention she provides the price upfront and that is what you pay at the end of your visit. Rosa wasn't available the last time I went in and I deeply regret it, my hair cut was uneven and the blow dry job wasn't anywhere close to what Rosa had done. She is the best. read more

I am 11 and I went to get a haircut here and it was the worst experience I have ever had in bubbles. The person cutting my hair was Rosa. I felt very uncomfortable around her. Every time she cut my hair she would also have a comb in her hand which always hit my eye when cutting. I asked her to even the sides and shave the back and even the top but keep it long. Then she did everything ok but then she shaved the top by an inch leaving me with 4 centimeters of hair. Then she said to me, "You don't like it? I think its cute." I wanted long hair with a shortened side and back. And after it got short enough, she kept cutting the top. And now I have to go to school with a bad haircut. Please go to the one in Century Blvd. if not please ask Becky at Seneca Meadows to cut your hair. I had a very nice experience with her. She made me feel very comfortable due to the way she go into personal things and she even let me comb my hair. read more

They were 30 minutes late for my appointment and the lady cut my hair the way she wanted, not what I asked her. I asked for shoulder length straight, she did layers and way shorter than shoulder length. Very disappointed and I won't be returning there. read more

The actual haircut itself was good. The hair stylist was annoying as she gave tips for me to make sure my hair stayed healthy, but she began to lecture me and I was not pleased. Not that great of an environment and a bit expensive. I asked her to straighten my hair and she said "I'll just blow dry it straight instead of straightening it with a flat iron" even though I specifically asked her to straighten it if she had time and that I'd pay extra. Saddest I've ever been in a hair salon and it was only a blow out. Rosa was my hair stylist. All I wanted was blow out for thanksgiving holidays. I discussed with Rosa that I don't like too much product in my hair Bc it makes it oily the next day. She told me she cannot blow out my hair without product and proceeded to tell me that she knows which hair goes with which product. I relented Bc she said she will not blow it out without product. Afterwards she blowdried most of my hair with just her fingers and the dryer. I thought this was odd because I could've done that at home itself. When my hair was 90 percent dry she picked up the brush. Then she proceeded to knock the dryer against my head- every SINGLE time she ran the brush through a section of hair. I literally got knocked my the hairdryer 20 some odd times and I mentioned it to her twice that it was hurting and to please go slower Bc had she gone slower it would not have knocked my head - EVERY SINGLE time. She looked angry, I looked depressed and she finished within 10 minutes. shampooing took less time than blow drying (not a good sign). Afterward she said "do you want hairspray? Otherwise it won't last longer than 10 min" I declined Bc I wanted to leave and cry in my car. A waste of time, money, tears and holiday. read more

One of my worst experience. Rosa not only did not understand what I wanted, she also quoted wrong (higher) price for a shampoo and a cut. When I brought it to their attention (showing them the rate on the price chart) they said "she quoted out of habit." Before I went to Bubbles, my hair was past my shoulders. I asked for a trim and Neda cut off 1/2 inch with the first cut. She asked if that was ok I said great because I wanted to grow out my hair for the summer. She ended up cutting almost 2 inches..... I can not pull it back into a ponytail, I have bangs now and the cut is not even. Some stylists don't know when to stop cutting..... I will never go back. read more

Stephanie is wonderful and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a gorgeous cut! She went the extra mile by squeezing an appointment in for me on really short notice and took the time to listen to me about what kind of cut I wanted for my hair and talked with me about what styles were best for my face shape and for the look i was going for. You could tell she had a lot of knowledge about hair and that she clearly knew what she was doing. She was also super friendly and easy to talk to and i found myself immediately being able to trust her to cut my hair, even though prior to this i had been going to the same hairstylist since i was in middle school. All in all i love Stephanie and how she cut my hair, and i'll definitely be coming back to her next time! I live in Bethesda and used to go to the Bubbles at Bethesda Row. My stylist there moved to become the manager at this Bubbles in Germantown and I followed her. Yes, I drive up to Germantown to get my hair done & it is well worth it. She is a fantastic stylist and I've been impressed by the work of the other stylists there too. The atmosphere is friendly; easy to park; there's a Wegman's in the same shopping area and lots of big stores nearby. I get a great cut and beautiful color and recommend this location highly. read more

I got my hair cut by Rosa. She asked me questions about what I wanted and did a great cut. I was a little annoyed that I was quoted at $50 for the cut because my hair isn't that long and it seems like others with long hair have paid $40. Whatever, not a big deal. What made me wonder if I was being Punked was when she ripped my earring out of my head when combing my hair. Sure, it was an accident no big deal but when I said "ouch! I think you just ripped my earring out" she said "oh. Yeah we usually recommend that you take those out.".... which I replied "well you didn't and now I'm missing the earring." She seemed annoyed that I wanted to look for my earring and the back, which were both on the floor. She stood there and waited while I found them and never apologized. The back to my earring was damaged from being hit by the comb I guess because it didn't stay on. Rosa said that if I put the back between my teeth and bite down it would help, and then she offered to put my earring back in her mouth and tighten it... no thanks... that's disgusting. I don't want your mouth germs coming in contact with my open wound in my ear (new piercing). Other than getting no apology for ripping something out of my ear and the awkward offer to put my earring in her mouth, the cut was great. My hair looked good and the blow out was one of the best I've had. Not many stylists know how to work with my hair. Conflicted as to whether I'll go back again or not. read more

She stayed past her quitting time just to make sure that I wasn't disappointed. Im a very picky person about my hair, but I needed to get it done! I saw this place everyday driving to and from work so I decided to give them a try, their store looked inviting and modern. I looked at the reviews and everything checked out. I kept seeing awesome reviews about a worker by the name of Andrea. I booked my appointment, but something came up last minute and ruined my day. I thought I wasnt going to make it. I called to see if she was still in and right before she was about to leave she said she would still do my hair. Why did I settle for a walk-in haircut in pure desperation? This may have been the only haircut in my life that has left me upset days later. The stylist did not ask how short I wanted my bangs or my layers and just dry cut away. I was left waiting for a wash in my utterly panicked state for a half hour, after being helped by a different stylist who generously, and likely sympathetically, washed and massaged my scalp. First and foremost I'm 100% natural. I stopped in a few weeks back to inquire about getting my natural hair blown out and trimmed. I spoke with Rosa regarding my requirements, concerns and expectations. When it comes to my hair I'm very selective as I have run into issues in the past. She understood my concerns I.e heat damage..etc and seemed knowledgable about how to protect the hair so it would revert back to it's natural curl pattern. My appointment was today, I arrive about 15 min early to get the lay of the land. I was greeted by staff and offered a beverage. Due to booking issue "Rosa had another natural client before I arrived, which put her a little behind." Mark washed my hair while Rosa finished up the other client. Mark hair wash was so relaxing. Rosa washed my conditioner out and blew my hair out. She ask me to wait while she processed another client which was fine. She was extremely apologetic throughout the entire process and explained she normally not booked like this. As a result the manager gave me $40 gift card for the mix up. I must say I love my hair. Rosa round brushed and finished up with the curling irons. Heat was not excessive nor we're flat irons required. Final bill was $80 shampoo, cut & blow dry. I would definitely return. read more

As a former happy customer of this establishment, i was highly disappointed with my last bubbles experience. for the past 3 years i have come here to get my hair done for formal events like prom and i've been extremely happy with the results. this year i hoped would be no different but i was wrong. i came in and showed the stylist a picture of the hair i wanted but i walked out looking like a toddlers and tiaras contestant. i was extremely unhappy with my hair and then on top of that they charged me $80 for it when in the past i've gotten far more done to it and paid at least $20 less. all they did with my hair was curled it half assed and put 4 bobby pins in it and and i was livid that they think it's okay to charge me that ridiculous amount of money. when i brought it up to the stylist she told me "well i had to flat iron your hair" which really is a bold faced lie because i straightened it the morning. i'm not sure about how they are with cut and color but if you're looking for any type of event hair i would not recommend this place. read more

Visited this Salon about a month and a half ago, right before I was travelling out of country for a month and stylist Darline cut my hair. She was very attentive and sweet but completely messed up my hair, I never had such a bad hair cut. My daughter said I looked like a 'cauliflower'. I was very upset, and called the manager as soon as I got home. I would've given a one or two star but was very impressed with how they dealt with my complaint. She asked me to come back the next morning, and talk to the manager, Elizabeth Kisas. She offered me two free haircuts, one hair treatment and a haircoloring, but that's not what I wanted. I was travelling for a wedding and wanted her to do whatever she could to fix it. I was very happy with her patience and willingness to make sure that I wasn't as upset.
