Went there last week on a Wednesday around 2PM THE FOOD WAS BELOW THERE STANDERS very poor. I hope there new place down town take awash from the place that made them. For what we had the price was way over price. I did call them when I got home and talk to someone and told them how bad it was also the food was cool coming off the line. The person that I talk to even told me the owner was there all day. Ceiling tiles were stained the place look like no one cares it's getting run down. I joined Yelp just to write about Bubby's BBQ! My husband and I have been going to Bubby's since it opened and have celebrated special occasions like graduations and birthdays at the restaurant. After watching restaurants come and go from this location I am so happy that one has stuck. Bubby's offers great BBQ at a reasonable price. The service is always friendly and the buffet is always stocked. Bubby's offers a huge hot bar selection, salad bar, desert bar, and ice cream. The highlights of the menu: fried catfish, hot wings, and BBQ pork. It is a real gem because it is right off of I-75 which is a busy interstate. Travelers are really lucky if they hit this interstate chow wagon on the way to their destination and locals are even luckier because we get to eat it all the time! read more

Stopped by on our way to a weekend of fishing at Lake Norris and what a great surprise. Great service, great food, fast seating even on a Friday night. I had the buffet and it was hot and they were always keeping it fresh. Felt very welcomed and appreciated. The ribs, fish, frog legs, pulled pork, and the veggies were great. No room for desert and other good fixings but they were there if you wanted them. Had a decent salad bar as well. A lot of great food for a great price. Thankful these places still exist! Great value and food. We got the buffet when I hadn't even planned on it! Ribs, wings and pulled pork were super yummy, moist and flavorful. Green beans are like momma makes...if you're from the South. Great dessert selection. My husband has peach cobbler with hand dipped ice cream. He said the ice cream was super smooth. So, I don't do BBQ joints, don't do wings and definitely don't do Buffets, EVER, but I trusted the Yelp reviews and this place was great!!!! The salad bar was very fresh, lots of options and homemade dressings. Others said the catfish, fried chicken and pulled pork were really good. Homemade peach, cherry and blackberry cobbler with ice cream (delish!) and bread pudding were excellent!! Service was outstanding, and the manager (Nathan) even came out to say hello. While there was a variety of food, and most of it was pretty good, I would not return here. The ribs were really good. There was one meat item that I spit out into my napkin because it tasted so bad. The place felt a little dirty and old. The peach cobbler was more like cake with a little bit of peach in it. We had a decent waitress. I feel that the price for a buffet was good. Food was fine. Only seemed to have the buffet available, and for a BBQ place that only had pulled pork on it. Also had fried chicken & wings that were good, catfish that looked tempting and country fried steaks that didn't look all that great, along with sides, salad and desserts. Went on a Sunday afternoon, so maybe that effected the price, but we felt it was high compared to other buffets we have been to. The food was disgusting, dried up fried chicken, tough burnt black ribs, rolls tough and dried out, chicken and dumplings you could strain thru a fork, nothing but water, nothing slightly good here, was recommended to me to try this place, i did Sunday, 06-10-2018, WILL NEVER GO BACK, food not fit for road kill. The pulled pork and and catfish were delish! They also have a big salad bar and small dessert bar and we paid $9.95 each (drinks cost extra) but I think the bar is cheaper during weekdays. I was in town cooking in a BBQ competition. And a group of us stopped to try it out. the veggies were very well seasoned, unlike most buffets. Not just dumped out of a can. A very wide range of good old fashioned home cooking. And fixed the way the should be. And the meats were very well prepared and seasoned The Pulled pork and the ribs were tender and have a very good flavor. The desserts were great. Came for the catfish and was not disappointed. I must have had it on four of my plates along with some frog legs. I even had my som try it who swore he would hate it. Only had fried fish at buffet but upon request kitchen made a special grilled order for my wife. It was delicious. Be ready to loosen the belt after eating since you have to try everything. Great place, for both the homestyle buffet, and BBQ. Huge buffet, with lots of good home cooked side dishes. Fried green tomatoes in season. BBQ is on the buffet. Weekends and Fridays, and sometimes during the week, catfish is on the buffet too, and its awesome. We order fries from the menu most times to go with the buffet. Great lunch buffet too. Desert bar is great, and changes often. Best chicken wings in town. Fried fresh to order. Try ordering them with no sauce and you can experiment with all their sauces. Great cole slaw too.
