A very welcoming and relaxingt enviromenet. We started off with bonelss wees in a sweet chili sauce and blue cheese dressing along with the Salted Pretzel that is served with cheese and honey mustard sauce. This place will be offering a full breakfast after October 1 with A La Carte. However my wife had the Catfish Plater, a combination of the corn meal catfish served with hushpuppies., french fries and fresh cold slaw I had the fried catfish Po Boy on Hogie Roll with amazing Chow-Chow Remoulade. topped off with a slice of bery and pecan pie. The scenery is breath taking. A relaxing getaway from all the rat race, worth the trip to southern Kentucky.

This is a beautiful park with lots of hiking opportunities, the falls, a gift shop, and a visitor's center. The staff in the visitor's center was accommodating with suggestions for not only the park but also nearby restaurants. We stayed in the area for three days to take advantage of the hikes and other attractions, but we could have stayed longer.

No moonbow when I visited, but the park has a nice constructed pavilion with various views of the falls, as well as a substantial beach area below them. Much of the area above the falls was blocked off for safety. There were a few trails in the area, but most of the Daniel Boone National Forest is substantially north of this park, which is where more hiking space seems to be.

If you're looking to find some of the most stunning places in Kentucky, then you must make a trip to this park. Just about any list online of the 'must dos' of Kentucky will include seeing the Cumberland Falls waterfall and moonbow. The park is pretty secluded into the Daniel Boone forest, so you really feel like you are away from everything else. They have a nice lodge, restaurant, cabins, and many awesome trails that you can take. I can see why they call Cumberland Falls 'Little Niagara' even though there is nothing little about it! There are also many different overlooks to get some awesome views. This is probably one of the coolest state parks that I've been to in Kentucky. Even in the winter, we saw many visitors from other states, so that really tells you something!

Hubs and I went to this state park for the first time with friends. They said that there was a bunch of walking trails that I could see the beautiful falls. While We couldn't walk really close to the waterfall because of the dangerous aspect, it will still just as beautiful. There is a gift shop and a snack machine and picnic benches. Plenty for everyone. While cell reception wasn't that great on our way to the park, it was really great at the park itself. We saw some people down at a beach area past down the waterfalls; and we made it our mission to find that same beach area. We weren't disappointed. The dogs loved being able to get into the water to rehydrate their cool jersey cloth on them. My 10.5 year old dog loved the walk; but he didn't like the last 10 steps, as they were metal and sharper on his paws and harder to walk on. But he was determined and made it work. All in all, we had such a fantastic time and we will definitely be back. Perhaps go to the surrounding trails that aren't as commercialized, as we like going on adventures without tons of people around.

Great experience for all ages! Words say much and pictures give a portrait of a profile as if looking through a window of imagination. But, Only seeing one of the most magnificent natural wonders of beauty can be appreciated with your own eyes. Why? Because my own pictures do no justice to it beauty as being at the falls that you must see for yourself! Located in the Daniel Boone National Parks system it one of many destinations known through Kentucky and Tennessee. A 200+ drive from Louisville was worth the travel. Once in the park you can witness lookout with breath taking views stretching for miles. Leading down calm winding scenic forests on the smoothest roads. There is so much to see. From children's activities to unsurpassed hiking trails of grandeur. Picturesque as your eyes can witness. Now go and see one of the most unforgettable National Parks treasures.

How can you NOT have any maps of the area Being OUT is not acceptable...the fact that there was NO SIGNAGE to direct us the the CAMPER/RV sites was bad enough Beautiful park ...camper spots a bit tight to one another Fire pit facing the wrong direction.. Other than that I'm happy so far

Beautiful place to walk and see. Have been several times . The hiking is great , great trails and scenery is amazing.

On a girls trip we enjoyed the day at the resort. We LOVED the horse trail ride. A fantastic experience. Afterwards we had a lovely little lunch at the restaurant in the resort. The food was nicely done and we had very good service. I can't rave exactly about the food, but it's better than in have had at other similar inns/resorts. The patio at the resort has a lovely view of the river and the forest. The falls was beautiful!! The park that surrounds it is also very pretty! Lots of great places to sit, large rocks & picnic tables. The gift shop was cute, and the staff was helpful. All in all it was a perfect day. Maybe next time we will get to hike or go on the rainbow mist ride!u

One of the most beautiful places I've ever been! Beautiful fall colors and fun hiking trails galore! Lots of people in the more popular spots, but plenty of opportunities await off the beaten path to explore in solitude. If you love waterfalls, critters, forests, and hiking, this is the spot to go east of the Mississippi! Be sure to bring in food if you plan to stay all day, otherwise you'll need to drive 20 min each way to the nearby town of Corbin to eat. Also - dress appropriately for hiking! There are lots of roots and rocks/boulders on the trails; expect scrambling and steep hills. If you're out of shape, you may want to stick to the paved or groomed trails. Absolutely gorgeous!

Very pretty falls! I will say this park is heavily populated by people and families in case you're looking for a less touristy nature spot. I didn't get to see the Moonbow, but heard lots of people talking about it. The park is in good condition and bathrooms are clean. There's gem mining for the younger children and a rainbow scenic boat tour. I didn't do any of those, so I cannot talk about those experiences but they are offered for those interested!

The waterfall was beautiful! There is a place to view the falls as it overlooks it or you can follow the trail and signage for the lower view. Both were nice! I found the park by the gift shop and falls to be well kept with picnic tables and trash cans available. But you know, sometimes people are gross and just throw stuff down. If you come across that please pick it up. It's your park too and don't let it stop you from enjoying the falls. The gift shop was cute and full of this and that tourist stuff. The check out was smooth and the service was pleasant.

Visited these falls for the first time and it surely was a nice break from the mundane. If you are traveling through Corbin, KY this is a great place to go visit not too far off the beaten path. It was cold and all the shops were closed. But there was not an insane amount of people and parking was good. You can walk up to the viewing areas from the parking lot and it is a very easy stroll. If you have the time and energy there is also seventeen miles of hiking trails. We brought the dog and made side trip here on our way to Lexington. Parking is free, the falls are free to see and hike around, what are you waiting for?

See anywhere to set up a tent? Neither did we.

How long does the hike take?

Depends on which falls you are going to, but the short one opposite the Eagle Falls took about an hour.

It's my favorite campground when I'm looking for seclusion. It seems like you're hours from the city, but it's just about an hour and a half from Lexington and 20 minutes or so from the interstate. The Grove is it's sister property, so if there isn't spots available here, there may be some at The Grove. Loops D & H are available via reservation, the other loops are walk up. This time we stayed in loop G area... G2 was our site and through the trees, you could see the lake. The paved pad was long and then there were steps that led to the huge graveled fire pit area. Perfect for tent camping. It wasn't considered a premium or double site, but compared to state resort park sites, it was at least twice as big. The shower house was decent. The water cold and the fact that the water on the shower was controlled by a button that you had to push every 30 seconds, was a bit annoying. I was thankful for hand soap and toilet paper though. The lady at check-in was a hot mess. She kept answering her cell phone and the landline phone instead of waiting on us. She didn't know which sites were lake side and wouldn't let us pay, look to choose a site, drop off and come back. She made us tow the camper down the narrow paths, choose a spot and then come back to pay with the camper in tow. Then it took her at least 10 minutes to write up the ticket, etc. After a 45 minute fiasco, we finally set up in the dark. Lesson learned... Remember what site # that you want, if you've not been there, study the map before you go. Things to consider are if you want to be by the lake, the shower house, or away from other sites. It's an American Land and Leisure run campground. I can't really figure out the ins and outs of the structurally run campgrounds... I've stayed at the Cor of Engineer, state park and KOA campgrounds. The American Land and Leisure campgrounds and sites seem to be the biggest and the most inexpensive.

When we pulled in, it was about to storm and almost dark. We were greeted at the store which was apparently closed. The gentleman explained that he would just come by in the morning to collect the due. He also said that there isn't any pre-booking available, everything is walk up only. Right now the rate in the first RV area is $24 per night. The rate increases for the season on 5/20/17. The second area RV section doesn't include sewer hook ups and is $4 cheaper. The second area is where the playground and dock access that leads to the marina is and seemed to currently be more popular than the first area. The views from both sections overlook the marina and beautifully picturesque. They have several large, pull through sites. We stayed in site L which was the closest one to the lake. None of the sites have lake access, but the marina is within a few minutes walk. A very important and possible deal breaker for anyone concerned about the drive there is that it is a narrow road and if you're heading in late when the boats are headed home, they take up most of the road and you practically have to pull off to allow them to pass.
