Great neighborhood spot to grab a drink and sit outside. My son and I enjoyed people watching on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Super nice servers who checked on us often and never rushed us. I've been previously for brunch and cocktails and never had a bad experience here. Inside is much darker and moodier complete with a bar area and tabletops. The back space behind the curtains seems to be for larger parties, but unclear since I've never sat back that way. Their brunch deal is pretty good - 2 drinks, 1 entree and dessert. Food is decent. Happy hour has a limited menu, but is everyday 4-6:30pm. Their red/white wines from Portugal were deliciously easy to drink!

Sooo good! I had a date night here and when we arrived it was only us, they let us choose where we'd like to sit. The staff were so sweet and attentive and gave good recommendations. The risotto was soooo tasty and savory. Would absolutely get again. The scallops were good and had a unique compliment I think. The shrimp tacos were good as well. The calamari was nothing to write home about and the espresso martini was just wayyy too bitter (and I love coffee/espresso tinis). I would go again just off the great staff and location.

Never have had bad food. Drink is also not bad. It just because price is moderate sometimes customers are loud and have too much drinks. So if you want to avoid the type of a group of people go there after happy hour is over.

This is a super spacious restaurant with two bar areas. Came here with friends post-dinner and was seated at the back bar and the waitresses were super friendly. I like the decor, too. Good vibes overall. I did not drink alcohol but there was plenty of non--alcoholic beverages on the menu that were easy to navigate to. Next time I'd want to try the food options!

I just picked up the greek salad to go-- I literally spent $20 on five cucumbers in dressing. This is absurd.

We came here on a Saturday night, walked in around 8:30pm, and got seats at the bar. The drinks were absolutely delicious--I had the Fig Honey Fix, and I was buzzed after just one drink! The drinks are reasonably priced too, around $15-$18. The atmosphere was dimly lit with a classy, sophisticated vibe. The only downside is they only have one restroom. The service was great as well! I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area again.

This is probably my newest favorite neighborhood spot. Bubo is perfect for a chill night out with your friends, date or even family. The lights are perfectly dimmed and the music is not too high to allow for great conversation. The drinks and food are also great. I had the Berry Fields - it tastes like strawberry lemonade, and had the perfect alcohol-mixer ratio. It's also super pretty which helps. I've tried a couple items on the menu but my favorite is the halloumi toast. I know, basic. But the toast is perfectly toasted. The halloumi is perfectly seasoned. The tomato is super fresh. Love everything about it. I also tried the charcuterie board. The cheese selection was really good - especially the honey goat cheese! The baguette type of bread was kind of stale, but the toasts were good, and the fig jam was a nice touch. The rosemary chicken bites were just OK, a bit too garilc-y for my taste. But good. I can't end my review without mentioning the service. The staff are all amazing! Keep Bubo in mind for your next outing - it's truly one my new favs!

The best cocktails and atmosphere ! Our waitress maggie was so attentive and outgoing. Would definitely come here again for the fresh drinks and the environment!

LOVE THIS PLACE!! The drinks were to die for and the charcuterie board hit the nail on the head. Maggie was the best waitress and was so attentive! Overall 10/10 experience. Must go spot in Murray hill:

Came here tonight and had a blast. Oysters were fresh, wine was delish and the service was phenomenal! I will always come back to Bubo!

The decor and ambiance were relaxing and beautifully decorated. The food was even better. It was AMAZING! I rarely write reviews, but eat out most of the time. MAIN DISHES: I ordered the Cod and vegetables (I normally never eat that.). The fish was beautifully flaky and tender, has a hint of mustard taste. It was not a frozen patty. It was an actual fresh fish section. There was no skin and NO head (thank you). For this who think that vegetables are just decoration for the main meat, like me, here is a place when you actually WANT to eat your vegetables. The Brussel Sprout seasoning was kind of like Sazon and gently burned giving it an out-of-this-world flavor. Yes, Brussel Sprouts are typically made in this way at restaurants, but this was better than the other high class restaurant recipes. While I wish that the vegetables had that Brussel Sprout same flavor, the vegetables in their own right had a nice subtle taste. They and the potatoes were cooked at the perfect timing for texture. Outside of expensive restaurants, you wouldn't believe how many food places, can't do this as they are too busy, are understaffed or just had the wrong timing. My boyfriend who has the chicken tacos, was so impressed with his meal, the vibe, and the service, he wants to go back again. I tried a bite too. The guacamole like topping had a creamy, light texture. Not your typical tasting guacamole, this fluffy topping made the dish. SERVING SIZE: The amount of food is for those who are into portion control and don't over stuff themselves. I am a walking bear. My legs are just here to propel the stomach. ;) LOL. So for those who missed lunch, like moí, and now it's dinner time, you probably want to order an appetizer and you will have room for dessert as well. The good part is that you get try the appetizer, main meal, and dessert and come out full, but not over stuffed like at a Thanksgiving meal. COOKING TIME: We didn't have to wait too long for our food, so that's always a plus. SERVICE: For those who look for a pretty face in their waitresses...and those who just want great service and don't care if it's a garden gnome who gives it to them, you can each be happy. The servers are all pretty and ours was nice as well. The service is prompt by both her and another waitress who check our drink levels. I always watch for water glass refill offers before the glass is 1/2 empty withOUT me asking. I shouldn't have to ask and thankfully, I didn't have to. It's always a sign of how the rest of the service will be like even when they are not making money off of the drink. (Some are diabetic or dieting and don't drink soda, some, for various reasons, don't drink alcohol), but it's a nice sign when we are treated well as if we were paying for a drink. So instead, we happily put our money towards other things like dessert. ;) ha ha) DESSERT Their Apple Tart was so popular that it ran out. My boyfriend got the classic chocolate lava cake with ice cream. It was beautifully presented and tasty. It is a smaller position than what I am used to seeing, however, this is clever as there is no food waste and it's accounting for you being somewhat full from the appetizer and/or the main meal. MENU: Note that that their menus are digital, so make sure that at least one of you brings your smart phone to use the QR code. BAR: They have the main bar, and then they have a bar with a marble looking top (I didn't closely investigate). It's in the back room where you can rent it out for a small company party. People can walk around all sides of the medium sized, back bar for a nice traffic flow. ATMOSPHERE: Back area lighting and seating: Think of a bar stool raised, table for four or maintained, leather-like, cozy, rounded corner bench seating. A semi-casual classy vibe, but not stuffy. There definitely was thought put into their furniture materials and decor elements from the glasses to their lighting fixtures to their seating. The lights are dimmable to give you just the right atmosphere vibe and was dimmed appropriately for us without us even asking. Low enough to feel romantic or to give that pub feel, and raised high enough that you can read words withOUT reaching for the nearest light on the table or wondering if the electricity bill was paid. It's nicely lit so no tripping here! :D CLEANLINESS: The tables were clean and not sticky. You can tell that great care had put a lot of the detail in running the place. For those who think that it's just a nice review, put it this way... I am just a regular person, but when I am at another restaurant, eating my usual dish, and it's visually it's fine, I can tell when the chef/cook goes on vacation and the dish is made by someone else. ;)

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. It somehow manages to feel both refined and relaxed at the same time. The kind of place where you half expect to spot Hemingway in the corner pretending not to eavesdrop. We started with half a dozen oysters, which were fresh, briny, and exactly what you want with serious cocktails. Crisp, clean, gone in about three minutes. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way. We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer. For drinks, she brought over someone more seasoned, who quickly helped guide us based on our preferred taste profiles. Her suggestions were very good. The mushroom burger was the highlight for me. It was a little salty, but the crispy mushroom and soft bun were a great combination. I honestly wished I had more than half. The wings were okay. They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, but coated in a Dorito-like powder that made them very messy. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd come back, especially for the mushroom burger.
