Bubo was real good. Matter of fact, it was fantastic and our server Soleé was a sweetheart. I came here on an empty stomach but that changed real quick after slurping down a dozen fresh oysters neatly arranged on a tray of ice in a neat clockwise fashion on small bulbs of ice. I wished they gave out a little more mignonette sauce, but I appreciated the simplicity of serving the condiments within an oyster shell. I thought the concept was super cute!! A follow up review on this place because I find myself going here whenever I need to think and have a good drink. My drink of choice is the Last Bubo. It is a drink made with mezcal and it is delicious! I welcomed the new year with a cocktail of infections. Everything but Covid, strep and the flu. I am not sure if it is due to my job feeling like a job and entailing me having to take it for the team and be put in a situation that I absolutely detest, my current dating situation being everything but green fields and sunshine, or if I have been frustrated that I wasn't able to go to the gym for a month due to the ailments, but I was down in the dumps. I haven't been in the mood to hang out with ppl and just needed a drink to myself. I first went to Docks, but it was just so crowded. So I made my way to Bubo and met Andres and his business partner, I was on my way out after having the Last Bubo (my favorite drink) and truffle fries and they stopped me to ask about things here. I sat with them and they brought out various dishes that were new on the menu. The mushroom pizza, was delicious! I wish I wasn't so full from my fries. The fries used to be shoe string, but now they are thicker and are batter fried. Not mad at all. This place is so dear to me and my friends that we go here often. Next place to try is Ted's, which I am 100% sure will be just as great as here and Aunt Bernie's. If you are around here, try it out. Great date spot. read more

Came here strictly for drinks so rating does not include food. A friend of mine suggested to meet up here and I was amazed that this place existed as I walk by this place plenty of times. I was pretty taken away by the interior design which gave off a classy high end vibe. They have a pretty unique line up for beers on tap which changes every so often and a good cocktail menu. The bartender is very friendly and tentative. Prices were pretty standard. Didn't come here during happy hour so I'd assume the deals are nicer then. You can see it from the food, the decorations, restaurant layout, to the glasses they use. Right from the front, detailed manicured designer flowers, and plants. My wife and I came to Bubo for a nice dinner after a long walk with my child and service animal. Upon entering one of the staff members asked if our dog was a service animal to I replied, yes. He continued to press further about what service our dog performed and what my wife's issue was, which embarrassed my wife because she has a debilitating anxiety related issue that our dog helps with, this is different from an ESA pet. She began to explain this, but upon explaining, got very frustrated because the question was extremely inappropriate, asking about the state of her health in front of the whole restaurant. Swung by here on a Sunday night - a few other couples had wandered into the restaurant but we didn't need any reservations. The bar itself is quite sexy and the interior is dimly lit making this a very nice date spot. There are also a few outdoor tables if you're interested! I did feel the cocktail menu was somewhat limited, but my friend got the spicy margi which he enjoyed. I had a glass of wine which was a sizable pour for the price! We tried a number of different dishes as well - they have a good assortment of tapas style dishes that are perfect for sharing. The standout was the grilled octopus which was fantastic!! It was perfectly cooked and the sauce it was served on was fantastic. I also liked the saganaki which was basically fried melty cheese served with toasted bread. The calamari was unremarkable. Cute Greek/Cypriot spot in midtown. I stopped by here with a friend recently for a drink and some appetizers. The decor is cute and intimate. My friend had the meatballs, which are apparently amazing, and I had the Greek fries with feta cheese.
