They usually have cheaper gas than most stations in Katy, and in the Houston area. The service can be really iffy depending on which server you get. None of the Buc-Ees hyper-friendliness I've encountered at some of the other locations, hence one star less. They have about 2 million gas pumps, yet there's often a wait. Getting in and out of the psychotic parking lot is just, well... psychotic. However, they have so many good products at good prices, especially their cheese puffs and some of their chocolates, and are usually (but not always) well stocked, and for these reasons, as well as sentimental reasons (because Barbi loves it here so much), it's hard for me to give less than 4 stars. read more

I have been coming to this Buc-ee's every single time I come to Houston since it first opened. Love coming here, for the trinkets the big-ole soda fountain drinks and for the awesome deserts. It's not typical that I spend at least $75+ each time I come out because my daughter loves this place. Customer service is usually really good and that has been a sticking point to me making the trek out here during my Houston stops. Tonight my daughter was craving a brisket sandwich, I opted for a steak and cheese burrito. As we paid for it and we got near the door, my daughter tells me she forgot the condiments and asked if I could get her a bbq sauce for her sandwich. So I turn around to walk to the back and get the condiments and as a courtesy, I tell the lady at the counter that I forgot a condiment for a sandwich I just purchased showed her my receipt and my sandwich, only to be told that because I already paid I would have to pay for the condiments.....what? lol... so then I am told by another employee working near the bbq condiment stand that bbq sauce is free. So I walk over to the lady at the counter who told me they would be charging me for them and I tell her that I was informed but someone at the food stands that they were free. She then apologizes but said that since they were inventoried they had to charge me for them (you inventory bbq sauce that you pre-package as condiments? Do you also inventory ketchup packs?). I asked if I could speak with a manager, at this point I feel insulted lol. Only to be told the same thing by the manager... To make a long story short, I ended up paying for two sauces, which is really a joke. Not about the money at all, it's all about principle here. I had just bought my sandwiches, I had not walked out of the store, I am not going to take 50 of your condiments and start a condiment business on Etsy, just needed it for my sandwich that I purchased there seconds earlier. I purchased gas (87, regular). When I received my receipt, I noticed I was charged the price for premium, 93. Upon bringing this to the manager on duty, Nick, I was dismissed. I was talked over, interrupted and ignored. The manager said if I want the discount I needed to buy the carwash. That is incorrect. Then he accused me of pushing the wrong grade. I filed a complaint with Buc-ee's and gave them permission to pull the video feed. I also filed a complaint with the state. I don't suggest Bucees. One of my favorite places ever! Always have to make a stop here when I'm coming to the Texas area. There is soooo much stuff to explore at this 100+ pump gas station. The bathrooms are always clean and the staff always work hard to keep everything tidy. Love that they have little food stations that sell breakfast burrito/sandwiches. They also have things like packaged fruit, veggies, banana pudding, etc. A perfect road trip pit stop for bathroom/snack breaks! If you're lucky, you might even run into Buc-ee himself walking around the place! One of my favorite items to get here is the brisket sandwich or the beaver nuggets! This place is pretty big. It even has a car wash station. The bathrooms were huge and clean. I think for the women's bathroom, there were more than 30 stalls. The stalls had lifted lights on top to let you know which one was open. Pretty crowded. When we pumped gas, I was disappointed that there were no squeegee to clean the windows. I am in with me some Buc-ee's!! I never patronized this chain until we recently started taking regular trips to Austin. It's now a must that we stop at both the Katy and Bastrop locations. Along with stopping for the clean restrooms and breakfast/lunch on this trip, I was getting ideas for a few upcoming birthday and Christmas gifts. Many times, I've only glanced at the themed and non themed items on display as I make my way to the restroom. First tIme visiting the viral gas station chain and it did not disappoint. The size of the space was very surprising, especially for someone from NYC. They had endless amount of gas pumps and the store was just massive. It was bright and extremely clean, especially the restroom. Every staff member that I came across was so kind and welcoming. I came mostly for the food and found it to be a good value. The brisket sandwich was just delicious. I couldn't believe it was from a gas station. I went to this location because they offered discounts on fuel whenever you get a car wash however, once I bought the car wash, I learned that they have rules in place that they don't state really anywhere and it's very confusing if they do put it somewhere so I waited in line for about 20 minutes to get the car wash discount and when I got to the front of the line, I learned that you can only get the discount if you buy it at the fuel pump it is not listed anywhere that that is the case. All it says is that you can only get the discount while fueling which is very confusing. I felt like I was scammed like it's a fraud and then I was used. read more

This Buc-ees location was on our stop home. It's easy to get to, plenty of gas pumps, and lots of places to park - if you need to rest up after you fuel up. On this particular visit, I filled up, oark d the car, used the restroom, got some coffee and got back on the road. It was nearly 8:30pm, so all that was done in about 10min. The restrooms were clean. There is a lot of real estate in the restrooms, and, as advertised they appeared to be the cleanest bathrooms in Texas. The Coffee Station is huge, and the cream and sugar station is enough to support a stampede. House balanced blend and bold flavors are available in small, medium, and large sizes. On the way out, I was greeted (again) by the very polite clerk. Everybody in there was so nice - it might be that Texas courtesy. The stop was efficient and pleasant. In a nutshell, Buc-ees is a 10 out of 10 rest area. Bathrooms were clean, the folks that work there were friendly and helpful, there are tons of gas pumps available as well as food options. I caution you that this is the best rest-stop food I've had ever had but it is in fact rest stop food so the bar is pretty darn low. There is tons of adequate food, lots of coffee and soda options and candy galore. This place is huge so allow for time to roam around. Bottom line if given the option of which rest stop to choose Buc-ees is a good choice. read more

Great gas station! Gas under $2.00!!! One of the largest Buc-ee's I've laid eyes on! Wonderful place to Christmas shop if you an hour or more to spend here. Unfortunately I didn't have time. :( But if you've never been to Buc-ee's, it's a site to see! And of course the cleanest rest rooms that I've ever seen on any road trip that I've ever been on. Such cute items to see-check out my snaps. And if you've never had their sandwiches, shame on you. Hahaha! We have to make two stops at Buc-ee's: one on our way up and one returning home. We don't have Buc-ee's in Cali, so when I saw this big ole bucktoothed beaver smiling from ear to ear off the freeway, I HAD to stop in. I saw a few of these during my travels in the Houston area, omw to San Antonio and Waco. I asked my bff what it was (after the fact) and she said it's basically "a glorified rest stop." That is EXACTLY what it is!! Filled with everything from home merch to clothing and novelty items to beach chairs, Buc-ee's is your one stop shop for ALL things Texas! You can grab different flavors of Fudge by the pound, freshly prepared BBQ Brisket Sandwiches, a variety of sweet or savory peanuts, the list goes on and on and on... In addition to the Buc-ee's themed clothing (hoodies, shorts, shirts, towels, swimwear for the fam, etc.), they also sell wine, housewares, even those folding beach chairs! If you're from out of state like me, think if it as a HUGE 7-Eleven, but with way more to offer. Let's not forget the reason I stopped here...to fill up on some CHEAP GAS!! My rental was a Hyundai Elantra, which at the time of my visit (late June 2021...I knowwwww, ssssh!! lol) I was able to fill up at a whopping $21 and change!!! For this reason alone, I almost didn't want to go home, haha! Idk how many pumps they have, but it damn sure is nothing like Costco or Sam's! The bigger locations such as this one in Katy have maybe 60+ pumps if I had to guess. Smaller locations such as the one I went to in the suburb of Pearland had maybe 20?! That's STILL a good amount! I had to hit up the fancy schmancy restrooms, too , and geez, that thing is enormous and immaculate! The coolest part: there are "courtesy lights" (traffic lights without the yellow, lol) above each stall to let you know which ones are occupied from afar. I could literally LIVE in a Buc-ee's if it had beds and a shower!! I can't wait to visit TX again, because you'd better bet your bottom dollar I'm going to Buc-ee's!! On a recent trip to Galveston, we stopped on the way back at the Buccees in Katie. It was really crowded and chaotic but it's amazing how smoothly everything runs. They have so many people working there and there are never long lines. Bathrooms were excellent. it says they have the worlds longest car wash but we didn't have time for that. There are also vacuums if you really want to clean your car. Tons of gas pumps and lots of parking make it easy in and out. The prices at Buccees are not cheap but I guess that's to be expected. Living in Texas, I have been to a lot of Buccee's and they never disappoint! read more

Everything you would find in a convenience store but on a much larger scale and with a multitude of options on every item.
