Smell of sewage radiating through restaurant. So very unappetizing. Today on a Friday, my friend & I wanted an italian lunch. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with an unpleasant scent of sewage. As we were seated into the empty restaurant (near the kitchen) it somehow got worse. It was undeniably bad smelling. This place reeks of sewage. It's the end of August and it was disgustingly hot in there establishment. The manager brought over a fan at the end of the meal only for the stench of sewage to be blowing in our face with the cool air we enjoyed for 10 minutes. We ordered a Bud Light and it tasted like sour kombucha, malt vinegar, just disgusting. We did get another beer but it was astonishing how even a simple Bud Light was disgusting. I would not come back here. I don't know what needs to happen but please start with the rampant sewage smell. read more

My friends and I came here for dinner to try the 4 for $49.99 deal. You get a salad, pasta, entree, and garlic bread in shareable quantities. We chose the Caesar salad (dressing on the side), penne alla vodka, and chicken parmigiana. The penne alla vodka pasta was kind of bland and I wish the chicken parmigiana had come with more sauce. The garlic bread was probably my favorite dish. Overall the food was mid but a good amount of food for the price. We came in on a Wednesday and were one of two parties eating there that night. Because of there were hardly any people, they sat us in the booths near the bar, which I didn't like because they have TVs at the bar that I feel distract from dining out. read more

I haven't been to bucca in over 15 years. I remember the warmth of the family style atmosphere. The great food and vibes. That is why I suggested bucca for dinner. It's conveniently located next to the parking structure and close to everyone so it was an easy choice. We made a reservation for 630. Came in and it was just as I remembered. Warm, inviting and it smelled delicious. We were seated right away. Our server was Jin. He was very pleasant. Right off the bat, night started wrong. It was four of us. We ordered our beverages. Our server only brought us 2. My friend wanted a cocktail and they didn't have the spirit it required. Ok, he picked something else, nope. Don't have it. Ok, so he ordered a basic gin and tonic. He wanted more ice. Jin then informs us that they don't have any glassware because they are still washing them. So he provides my friend a white plastic kids cup with ice. He apologizes profusely for not having glassware. It's a little weird but it's okay at this point. We remind him that we're still missing two drinks... That takes forever. I'm assuming because of the lack of glassware. Food comes out. It's pretty good. But after the food comes out we are not checked up on at all until it's time for the bill. He got the salmon sorrento with fettuccine Alfredo and I got the lasagna and a side Cesar salad. We also got mozzarella garlic bread! Everything was delicious and of course we had lasagna leftovers which we ate for dinner that same night! Unfortunately the order never got sent to the restaurant. So when I went to pick it up there was no food ready. As you can imagine this is a stressful outcome when you have your guest arriving in 45 minutes. My husband and I spoke with the manager who was so amazing. He took our order and had put a rush on it and got to our order delivered to us in a timely manner. I also want to take a minute and acknowledge the person who handles online pick ups at the restaurant she was extremely kind and patient with us. Buca used to be one of our favorite restaurants 10+ years ago. We enjoyed the large portions and having something to enjoy later. We recently received a gift card and so it was time to go back. Unfortunately our experience was not good at all. We ordered a small chicken parmigiana, a small pizza, and tiramisu. All of that came to $100. Of course the good thing, in theory, is that we had food leftover for the next day. But when the food isn't great that's not exactly a bonus. Everything that we ordered lacked flavor. Nothing tasted fresh at all. The chicken parm barely had sauce on it. But the sauce wasn't good anyway. We used to love their tiramisu. It was light and airy with solid coffee and chocolate flavor. But now it's this almost solid block of mildly flavored meh. It's a shame because we have many great memories at Buca. But we won't be back. read more

The bartender couldn't tell it was horrible by the full glass after I left.... She didn't offer a different drink or something else. Out of the 3 cocktails my party ordered none of them tasted like alcohol. Be ware We ordered the fried cheese, Bruschetta and fried ravioli! To be honest, I didn't even know this place was still open, but we wanted to try something different since we haven't dined here in ages and were celebrating an accolade my daughter received. When we first arrived, we noticed a foul wet bar rag smell. The lobby is next to the bar so I thought that's where the smell was coming from, but that moldy aroma was noticeable in the dining areas too. We still stayed and dined, food was good but service needs some serious attention. From the beginning, service was questionable. We were the only ones in the lobby when we arrived and there was no host to greet or seat us. We stood there for several minutes until I decided to walk around the dining area to find someone by the kitchen to help us. That should have been our sign to leave, but we didn't. The place was pretty empty, maybe only two other parties were already dining when we arrived. Our server was Crissy and she wasn't attentive at all. After she took our drink order, we kept wondering where she was... the wait for our drinks was really really long, then when she was finally on her way to bring our waters she realized she forgot my glass of wine when she saw us and made a u-turn and disappeared again. When she finally served us our drinks I told her that we were ready to order and she said she'd be right back to take our order. She walked away and brought water to another table that arrived after us then proceeded to immediately take their order. I was furious, especially since we were there way before that other party arrived and was waiting for service for too long at that point. When we saw her take their order first, even after I told her that we were ready to order when she brought our drinks, I was ready to walk out, they didn't deserve our patronage. I felt Crissy displayed prejudice in her actions and that wasn't ok. Anyway, someone else brought us our food and additional napkins and checked on us if we needed anything else during our meal. Crissy only checked on us to see if we wanted dessert and when we declined, she already had our check and to-go containers in hand. This was not the dining experience I expected here. I had fond memories of celebrating various occasions at Buca back in the day, but because of this experience, I won't ever return to this location again... it was frustrating, definitely not like the fun times I remember. Buca, the moldy smell needs looking into and please have higher standards and retrain your staff here for proper service. It's sad to see this location fall by the wayside. read more
