Highly recommend giving this place a try! We drove all the way from the Valley and were so glad we found this hidden gem. The service was excellent, and all of the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our entire visit. Our drinks were constantly being refilled, and the staff regularly checked in to make sure we were doing well. You can really tell they care about their customers. We all really enjoyed our meals. I ordered the burger, and it was delicious--great flavor and cooked just right. My kids loved their meals as well, especially the chicken tenders and fries and the mac & cheese. The drink I had was definitely hit the spot! LOL. And the dessert was a 10/10. I absolutely love crème brûlée, and that's definitely my weakness. We also loved the atmosphere. We ended up here for a little birthday brunch celebration. It wasn't our original plan, but honestly, it wasn't all that bad. The restaurant itself was very nice, spacious, and had a pleasant atmosphere. Our waiter was okay--he did his job, and that's about all I can say about that, lol. Based on the menu description, I thought the chicken and waffles came with a sweet potato base, but unfortunately, they didn't. However, the chicken was fried perfectly and seasoned just right! The rest of the food was good, but not so amazing that we would come back for it. The pancake was also very cake-like, which wasn't quite what we expected or intended to order. I returned one month later to try the Duck Confit Poutine that I'd been thinking about since my first visit, only to find that they have changed their menu for the season, and said duck dish has flown away. I was disappointed to say the least, but cannot hold that against the still-fantastic staff that whipped up another fantastic martini and welcomed me with smiles and warm hellos. With poutine off the list, I opted for the Kalbi Tacos: corn tortillas very generously topped with Hoisin Braised Short Rib, Candied Cashews, Serranos, Kimchi Carrot Slaw, and a Sweet Chili Aioli that I asked for on the side. Though billed as a starter, these 2 tacos are quite substantial and make a satisfying meal -- especially because of the richness of the beef, which has a full-bodied, Asian flavor I found really appealing. The heat from the Serrano peppers did a good job of cutting the sweetness of the Hoisin, and the combination of Kimchi Slaw and Candied Cashews added a nice crunch. I"m glad to have gotten the aioli on the side, as a little dab on a few of the bites was enough for me to try, and I found the tacos to be rich enough without it -- but don't get me wrong, the ailoi had a nice flavor and you might be all in. The other recent change is the unfortunate fire that took away several buildings across the street from the restaurant, including an historic theater. People at the bar, and generally around town, are really feeling the loss, and it's the right time to show your support for the businesses and the community. Even if the poutine has vanished for the time being, I'll be back soon to try something else interesting from the menu of very interesting choices. Lovely spot for drinks and dinner in Santa Clarita. I was in the area running errands and decided to grab dinner nearby on a Thusday evening around 6:30 pm. I found this place on Yelp and dropped by for dinner. My party of 2 was seated immediately. Personally I thought the menus were hard to read. The gray lines in the background were quite dark and clashed with the actual menu items. My suggestion to the restaurant would be to reprint the menus with lighter background. They have an extensive cocktail menu with a lot of gin-based drinks. They also have good selection of wine and NA drinks as well, including some mocktails. I got the I'm Driving mocktail ($13), which I really liked. It had good passion fruit flavor without being too sour. Felt like a really nice tropical juice. My friend really liked his drink Bramblin' Man ($17), which had strong notes of bourbon and blackberry. I wasn't super hungry, but the braised short rib looked amazing so I got that for $43. It was very tender, but I personally found it bland especially on the inside. I asked for additional sauce so I could drench each bite in the sauce. My favorite part of the plate was surprisingly the potato croquette, which was perfectly crispy and well flavored. My friend got the chicken club ($23), which he enjoyed. We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful restaurant in Old Town Newhall. I have been going here since they opened and I am shocked that this is my first review. In fact, OT Junction played an important role for our community during the pandemic. We were able to purchase many staples like milk, eggs, produce, and their delicious bread while also picking up lunch or dinner to-go. Today you will find top-notch service, creative flavorful cuisine, a view of the kitchen staff hard at work, and great spirits. They recently changed their menu and it does not disappoint. In our recent visit for lunch we shared the brussel sprouts, which are out of this world. Roasted perfectly with crispy lardons, apple compote, pecans and a sherry reduction for the most addicting dish. We also ordered the Kalbi Tacos with the flavor filled braised short ribs, candied cashews and a wonderful kimchi slaw and chilis. It is so hard to not order these two items every time! You will find street parking and the free public parking structure nearby. A great bar and extensive cocktails and wine offerings. This place is worth the drive if you do not live nearby. My family and I enjoy walking around, Old Time Junction especially in the evenings when it's all lit up beautifully with lights on all or most of the trees along Main Street on both sides of the block. There are many restaurants to choose from, and lots of interesting businesses to window shop after your done with dinner to walk off the calories. There is a Live Theatre, an adorable shop to give your dog a birthday party, unique toy shops, and more. If you're looking for dinner and a nice walk near by, The Old Town Junction is the happening place to go. Also, look out for occasional street events there as well. read more

First time here, it was impressive. The restaurant was immaculately clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had brunch and it was probably the best veggie omelette I've had. Flavorful and made to perfection. The OTJ deluxe Bloody Mary was a meal in itself. The Junction Benedict was delicious and the short ribs were the star of the show. Meh. Maybe I just didn't order the right thing? I did make an adjustment to my order. So perhaps that was the problem? We went here for a Mom's Night Out. I had eaten a little earlier, but thought well I can get a little something to nibble on tonight then have lunch for tomorrow. I had a hard time choosing because everything looked good but not great. I was craving pasta, but all of their pasta options had seafood or red meat and I don't like either. They did have a vegetarian pasta option, but it wasn't appealing to me. The waitress suggested I get one of the meat pasta options without the meat. However I didn't want to pay $35 for noodles and marinara sauce. She said I could sub chicken so that worked out. The pasta looked decent when it came out. But it had no flavor other than the tomatoes and maybe a hint of garlic. The chicken was very bland as well. I did like the type of pasta that they used and it was cooked well. So I can definitely doctor the dish up at home. My friends seemed to like their food fine enough. No one was raving about anything though. For dessert we got the blueberry butter cake which we were told was made in house. We were expecting something decadent, soft, and warm. However it's served cold and was very dense. My friends enjoyed it enough though and they finished it off. Oh and this slice of cake was $15. I think if the prices were more reasonable I wouldn't have minded the lackluster nature of the food. But for what we paid I just wasn't impressed. This is SCV though, so I can see this being a hit for the area. The decor is nice with a modern trendy style, and the chairs were nice and comfortable. Our waitress was nice enough. It's always a win finding a restaurant on the fly where both vegans and meat eaters can enjoy themselves. I'm part-time vegan so I really appreciate when a menu is flexible and most dishes here can be modified. A friend and I stopped in for a quick bite and the experience was pretty easy. We found parking right across the street and were seated right away. She ordered the cabbage steak (without the cheese) with the OTJ crispy potatoes. She said the cabbage steak was nicely seared and full of flavor even without the cheese. I had the Soba noodle and hanger steak which was fresh and filling but not too heavy. Came here on a Sunday morning for brunch and it did not disappoint! The breakfast items were familiar ones but with a slightly elevated twist. The breakfast potatoes that came with our brunch were phenomenal. Large baked potato chunks that are fried. It's as if the baked potato got fused with French fries. Amazing! Been here many times before and for some reason; last night was not what it used to be. The pork chop I ordered was waaaay overcooked and dry. They were so busy that the waitress never came to check on us. She came as soon as the food was served to ask us how everything was, which is not enough time to even evaluate the food. I noticed she had been super busy; which is why. She was even making drinks for her tables. The kitchen window faced my table and I was scared to flag anyone else down to send it back out of embarassment to make a scene...the place was so busy and clearly understaffed and I didn't want the chef to see who was sending back his overcooked pork chop. Seated right away, then we waited... 10 min for water and to take a drink order. 15 min later a manager of sorts came to apologize for drinks taking so long.. then he sent someone to take our food order. Cook to the perfection, pink center and moist and tender. It easily gave that pop of amazingness. Duck is hard to enjoy but Junctions got it down! Bang! Perfection. The prime rib only available after 5. The jewel of most restaurants. The classic elegancy of a resturant. Note: (Two of us substituted the carrot and puree for fries and they were more than happy to accommodate) Fried Artichoke : was an amazing way to start the meal! My husband and I always eat at the bar because we like to be apart of what's going on. It's a comfortable, easy feeling atmosphere. John was very attentive. We had the duck fat potato confit. This dish was beautifully presented but the taste was something we had been searching for since our time in Aiken SC at the Oyster Bar & Grill. On the way to visit Hart High School for a Show Choir Competition, we decided to stop early for dinner, so we dropped into The Old Town Junction on a Saturday afternoon. The atmosphere was nice - a little elevated over typical old town Village restaurants. We were promptly sat and started checking out the drinks menu. It was about 10 minutes before they got to our table for drinks but after that they were on it. I had one of the three draft beers and it was okay. Gwen enjoyed her cocktail and I took a sip. It was pretty darn good, but I'm a coconut fan and with toasted bits of coconut on top, I had to try it. We started with a side of fries and they were the breaded sort. They were good. Not amazing. I sometimes feel that breaded fries are taking the easy way out. Last night, we had the Pomme Frites at The Back Abbey in Claremont and I much prefer those. I decided on a steak salad although I normally don't call salad dinner. Gwen had the fried chicken sandwich and Lori had the club. My salad was not great. The salad portion was actually better than the steak, which feels wrong to type. The steak was not seared enough to give it a good flavor. The inside was med rare to rare in spots and yet I ordered medium. It was stringy and just not the best. For $25 for a salad, I was hoping for a little more. I took a bite of Gwen's sandwich and our friend Lori shared half her club with me. The chicken sandwich was also pretty good. Didn't wow me but it was better than my meal. Lori's club was also solid but not great. Overall, a solid 4. Service was great after they showed up. The atmosphere was nice and I'd consider coming back to try other dishes. That said the main menu items were pricy and the experience doesn't seem to warrant the price of some of the items they listed. We ordered the prime rib sandwich, loco moco, wedge salad, & kids cheeseburger meal. The prime rib sandwich was 10/10 warm & flavorful packed with tons of meat. The loco moco didn't taste like your traditional loco moco however it was still enjoyable. The wedge salad was another 10/10 & something I will never not order. I highly recommend ordering if you're someone who likes bacon as they give you thick steak like pieces of bacon all over the salad. Lastly, even the kids meal was impressive I was shocked by how big the portions were it could actually pass as an adult size burger so safe to say you're definitely getting your moneys worth.
