I've been coming to Piccola Trattoria for years, although I hadn't visited in quite some time. Coming back reminded me exactly why I fell in love with this restaurant in the first place. Graziella and her brother have created such a special dining experience. My favorite dish has always been the pistachio sauce ravioli. I didn't see it on the menu and mentioned how much I loved it, and Graziella was kind enough to make it for me anyway, explaining that it's now part of their rotating menu. That level of hospitality is rare and so appreciated. I usually never order ravioli as a main course anywhere else, but this dish is absolutely incredible and unlike any ravioli I've had. I was on a double date and convinced my friend to order the same dish because I couldn't stop talking about it. She absolutely loved it and understood immediately why it's my favorite. My fiancé and his cousin both ordered the lamb chops and couldn't stop raving about them. My fiancé substituted the seasonal vegetables for the arugula salad. He normally doesn't eat salad, but he finished the entire thing and said it was one of the best salads he's ever had. The dressing was amazing, and after trying it myself, I completely agreed. My fiancé's cousin, who I consider like a brother, was trying lamb chops for the first time and said he felt like he'd been missing out his whole life. I also ordered the Prickly Pear Margarita from the rotating cocktail menu and enjoyed it so much that I ordered a second one. The food was outstanding, but the atmosphere deserves recognition too. The patio is beautiful, romantic, and has such a relaxing ambiance. It was the perfect setting for a double date. After being away for a few years, I'm so glad I came back. The food, service, and hospitality were just as wonderful as I remembered. Piccola Trattoria remains one of my favorite restaurants, and I can't wait to return again soon. read more

Got to try the seafood ravioli and lasagna as I am trying to find my "go-to" dish at Piccola. My fiancée loves it so we are here frequently. The lasagna was very good with the overall quality of the meat and pasta was great as always (I have never had anything here that did not taste homemade and quality!) The ravioli was a little different from something I'd typically order but it was great. The creamy saffron sauce was delicious and the shrimp bites were a great touch. The most hilarious experience I've had at a restaurant, really trying to be fancy and failing to deliver on anything really. Not too expensive but they make you pay for valet for $6 and it was ridiculous the parking lot is right there. Like I had to walk further to the valet stand then my car was then wait for this guy to run over to the car and drive it two feet to me to leave. So odd. Food was disappointing unfortunately, I was excited too but I cannot recommend. At least do not get the pumpkin tortellini or the scallop stuffed ravioli. Tried both of them and they just tasted very unbalanced. Idk they might be fine for another palate but it was a very disappointing evening. Distance was great, service was great, setting and lighting were also great, and overall the time going there was great. On our first visit, we were lucky to have Hunter as our waiter. He was incredibly kind, attentive, and made our evening feel special. He offered great recommendations and made sure we felt well taken care of throughout the meal. His service really elevated the entire dining experience. The next night, we returned because the food had been so good--and once again, the dishes did not disappoint. However, the service this time was noticeably less attentive and didn't have the same warmth or attention to detail we experienced the night before. It wasn't terrible, but it was a noticeable drop from our first night with Hunter. That said, if you're coming for the food, you won't be disappointed. The reviews did not let me down this place is delicious from the bread, muscles and ravioli, not to mention the addictive Lychee Martinis. The service was a bit slow and honestly the waiter seemed to not care about our table in the beginning. Also I got a rusty knife, of course it was quickly replaced. The actual place itself is nice looking. Fancy. Bathroom could use some help. Valet seems nice but we didn't use that service. Food: Caesar salad was fine but the type of lettuce used made the salad taste watery. Prosciutto and mushroom pizza was meh, dough is good, but something about it wasn't making it great. Lacked flavor. Lamb chops were fine, 2 out of the 4 lamb chops given were great, the other two were meh, the veggies could be better, and the mashed potatoes were too plain. Sauce was salty. They don't have parking unless you wanna pay for valet otherwise you have to walk a block. Bummer off first impression. Living in San Francisco there's endless authentic Italian restaurants to choose from on a daily. Such as Paradisio. Ordered mojito, Cesar salad, shrimp ravioli and Alfredo fettuccine. That Cesar salad was so tasteless and welted. Informed our waiter he dis absolutely nothing lol joke. The mojito was watered down. However the entrees was better. I would recommend entree nothing else. The service was ok. I started off with a caesar salad and the crunch of the greens along with tangy dressing was perfect. I ordered the seafood pasta and it came with a medley of clams, scallops, mussels and shrimp. The martini was yummy, I would prefer it again. The server was nice, and attentive. The calamari was a solid choice as an appetizer. My partner ordered the truffle pasta and he said he would get it again. It was rich and creamy. A strong truffle flavor. The server shredded the truffle at the table. I absolutely loved their Bolognese pasta. I 100% would order it again. I would come back to get it again. I have never been a fan of bolognese. It's always felt like a safe bet at new Italian restaurants but this one is by far my favorite. The affogato was a solid 4/5 This place is a solid choice and we'll definitely be back. We visited Picolla Trattoria for the first time last night to celebrate our anniversary. We would give 10 stars if we could. The food was phenomenal starting with our Burrata cheese appetizer to our lovely desserts. We cannot rave enough about our waiter, Zacharey. I was so disappointed with the staff treating me as a problem when I wanted more ground pepper, but the kicker was my favorite salmon pasta dish, they put tomato pieces in to make it look like it had more salmon. Both the crostacei and spinachi raviolis were excellent and cooked perfectly al dente. We especially like the crostacei which was loaded with scrumptious scallops and shrimp in a unique rich sauce. The Italian bread and olive oil were especially good and kept flowing. The boys especially enjoyed their own mediterranean and prosciutto pizzas with a half bottle of brunello. Excellent wine selections, but would like to see more red options by the glass. Service was attentive and efficient despite the Friday evening crowd. Valet parking $6. I had dinner plans with my mom's friend here and she treated me for my birthday. Parking was quite interesting--they have some sort of a vallet service included with your reservation since parking is tight. The location is quite nice with both indoor and outdoor seating areas. I don't think we reserved early enough so we were seated outside. Good thing it was pretty breeze, so it was a perfect day to have dinner outside. This place I believe is valet only which surprised me because I wasn't expecting that here in Santa Clarita. The valet guys are very sweet. I have come in to Piccola before to celebrate occasions for friends and always enjoyed my time. This last time we came in to celebrate our Anniversary. Reservations are accepted so that helps getting in when you want. I like the small low light atmosphere here with the intimate dining experience. Small but cozy is how it feels here. Soft conversations happening in all corners of the main dining room and out in the patio they have covered seating with heaters, so you will be comfortable. We were greeted by our friendly hostess Lia who checked us in and showed us to our table. Our wait staff was attentive and courteous offering us great suggestion on the specials of the day. We started off with a Mozzarella Burrata bread appetizer. It was like a caprese salad on tasted bread but with the soft burrata it was sooo goood! We continued on to more specials on the menu to a Parmesan Pasta with fresh Truffles. This dish was slightly smoky and the parmesan cream sauce was perfect! Another entrée we ordered was a Risotto with Grilled Vegetables, another special. Compliments to the chef again! The kitchen nailed these two dishes. The portions were good and although I could have stuffed myself, I opted to take some home to have again later. Loved the food and it was on par with other nights out there. Probably the best restaurant in Santa Clarita. We are lucky that it's a short drive away. Sister restaurant Osteria is a close 2nd. You need a reservation to dine here, otherwise you may be turned away. Food is quite excellent. We went last night with another couple who are close friends of ours to celebrate Valentine's Day. We split a caesar salad, which was very fresh. Lots of creamy caesar dressing which is just fine with me. Maybe too much for others. My husband got lasagna which is literally the best lasagna I've ever had. It's made with many many very thin layers, drenched on one side with a flavorful meat sauce and so good. Honestly it's a big portion and could be shared. My friend and I both had the lamb chops which were also very good. Soft. I ate them with my hands, holding the bone. Don't call me a barbarian. They were small in size, but each plate had 4 chops. Came with mashed, delish, whipped creamy and buttery, and sauteed vegetables. Dessert was an apple tart for us 2. The balsamic vinegar from the sauce of the steak was a little overpowering to my liking but all other dishes were great. -1 star because they sat us on a dim corner right next to where the servers place their orders (felt kinda claustrophobic) and there was an empty table right next to it and we requested if we could sit on that table instead but the Host refused and she said it was reserved ( We also had reservations) but the entire time we were there, no other party used the table. This is an Italian Family business, husband & wife, etc. It's a Modern, classy, Italian spot, affordably priced. The food at Piccola is one of those places that reminds me of cooking for close friends & family at a home holiday, something over the top, special occasion type dishes. Service: If I could give them 10 stars, I would. A very meticulous Team, working in unison. The kitchen staff is by far one of the best! Attention to detail, refined side dishes. This place, the food and all the staff deserve a Michelin Star! Food: No other Italian place within 50 miles compares. It's worth the drive from Westlake Village, West LA, SFV, Bay Cities, Malibu, etc. AND Piccola Trattoria puts those spots like Nonna and Basta to shame. The food in general is very clean, not oily or greasy at all. Just the right amount of salt, and no overburdeny oregano either. The meat they use to make their sauces is lean, so the final result is not fatty. The dough in the pizza was fresh made through fermentation, not store bought yeast. The desserts were savory, not overly sweet or loaded with sugar. They were divine. The meat dishes were cooked to perfection and to your liking, the lamb chops, osso bucco, ribeye. Some of my favs: 1. Pizza w/ mushroom & prosciutto. I think they use Mozz & Sharp Provalone cheese. Yum. 2. The Baby Rack of Lamb Chops medium rare. Omg, tender and juicy. No funky game taste at all. Sauce on the side, so you can dip. 3. Ribeye cooked Medium. Savory, tangy, filling. 4. Get a cannoli! You'll thank me later. Light/flaky shell, perfect savory filling. 5. Oh, the Tartufo Classico was my favorite dessert. Prices are Affordable. I feel like you could easily get a meat dish at this place for much less than the price of a pasta dish or even a pizza at other Italian places. Piccola's menu is evenly balanced between meat dishes, seafood, pasta and pizzas. It's a good, well-rounded assortment that aims to please. Atmosphere is elegant, call it business casual. It's a great date spot, or a place you would bring your closest adult relatives. Kids welcome too! But by no means is this any kind of NY hole in the wall spaghetti with meatballs joint. It's more sophisticated than that. December 2024 Parking is $6 valet, or some street parking is available. If you're a first-generation Italian to the United states, or your parents are straight out of Italy, this is definitely the spot for you! Piccola T is exceptionally great food, at an affordable price, with great service. Honestly, dinner for FIVE people came out to around $300 WITH Wine, shareable appetizers, desserts (plural), 1st and 2nd courses. Good Luck trying to get those prices in Westlake, Malibu, or the West side. I feel like I got my money's worth at this place, and everyone at the table was definitely satisfied, felt full, and we all had a very delicious and enjoyable meal. AND we had leftovers to bring home. I came here once in 2018, and because of the pandemic and other reasons, couldn't get back until just now. But I will definitely visiting here more often for sure! Last night we stayed home so i decided to get a good italian food and enjoy the new years eve, after checking around i order from this restaurant, what a mistake it cost me 110 dollars and the food went straight to the garbage , my veal milanese was fried in over used frying oil and was uneatable and my wife shrimp and scallop ravioli tasted like can food, i am deeply disappointed and surprise since the place was booming with customers, i gave 3 stars since people who answered the phone they were very professional and the Cesar's salad was ok..i will have to travel to Pasadena or Ventura blvd for good italian food since this wasn't any valuable source ..I try to put this in my mistake orders and wasted money... read more
