Review written on March 24, 2026 at approximately 10:45 AM, while still sitting in the parking lot after leaving Crazy Otto's in Santa Clarita. This is my fourth time coming here, and unfortunately, it will most likely be my last. I ordered a coffee and Belgian waffle combo. From the start, the server's attitude felt dismissive, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt. While waiting for my food, I drank about 90% of my coffee and was never checked on. I watched another customer nearby receive his meal, finish it (steak with avocado), and get his table cleared--all while I was still waiting. When my waffle finally arrived, I had no coffee left. I politely asked the server for a refill. She acknowledged me, nodded, and then proceeded to clear the other customer's table, take another order, and continue working around the area--passing by the coffee station multiple times without bringing my refill. At one point, she even stopped to grab her own Stanley cup and take a drink of water. After waiting and realizing I was being overlooked, I got up in the middle of my meal, asked for the check, paid, and left. I understand places get busy, especially being so close to Magic Mountain and Interstate 5, but basic follow-up--like bringing a simple coffee refill after acknowledging the request--should not be missed. My husband and I came in for some country fried steak. Our plates come with the steak, hash browns, eggs, and choice of toast or biscuits and gravy. We both agreed that both the steak and gravy were lacking flavor. Also the steak was very tough and chewy. My over easy eggs were a little over cooked, but hash browns were nice and crispy. We found ourselves adding salt, pepper, ketchup, hot sauce...I mean whatever it needed to give it some flavor. Unfortunately, food was a miss today. BUT service was very good. Spencer was great. Very attentive and I don't care what some of the other reviews said.. His music choice was a whole ass vibe and it definitely helped make the meal not as bad. We might come back. Who knows. Went here for my first time day. Walking in it seems run down.... There was one worker, told us from across the place to sit where we wanted so we did. And then waited at least 10 mins to be greeted or given menus. Food wasn't anything special. Music is over powering. Service was....well like I said we only saw one lady doing everything and at times saw no one. We sat waiting for her to pop back up so we could pay and leave. I love to treat myself to an All-American diner! Crazy Otto's has delicious food. My husband ordered a mushroom burger, and added bacon to go with it. He had a side of homemade chips and Boom. Delicious! I ordered the half and half because I can never make up my mind. A half tuna and half chicken sandwich with the most incredible onion rings. It made my heart so happy. This was on my list to try for local eats in SCV. I love breakfast and diner places do this was a place to check out. The inside is a mix of retro decor but in a strip mall space. I didn't mind tho. It had its own charm. The food was pretty good too. The French Toast and 2 egg plate was great and good portion. Bacon was cooked perfectly which is important. I don't like that uncooked fat. Gave this one more chance Came here for breakfast and ordered two simple items. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the portion sizes for the price. I also ordered an orange juice and water. The orange juice was not freshly squeezed and tasted like it was from concentrate almost a cardboard-like flavor. I try to support small businesses, and I've been to the AV location before and was never disappointed, which makes this visit even more frustrating. I'm not sure what happened this time, but they definitely missed the mark. To make matters worse, there's a sign stating you get 4% off when paying with cash. I paid with a $100 bill and was still charged as if I paid with a debit card. Why put something in writing if it's not going to be honored? For the price and quality, there are much better breakfast options in Santa Clarita, like Nelly's Café or Eggs & Things. read more

Pleasantly surprised about this place. I was in area and looking for a breakfast place. The prices were a little on the high side but when I got the food it made sense. Worse service ever. Waiter and hostess were rude to me and my partner. The food did not taste great and had no flavor except for the ham and sausage they provided. They threw the water cups onto the table while I was in the restroom with no respect. Spoke to my partner in a rude manner. My girlfriend told me all of this after we left the restaurant and I was upset and disappointed. If you don't like your job, gtfo then. Would never recommend this to anyone, especially my friends that visit from out of town. RUDE SERVICE. THE WAITRESS WAS STANDING AROUND MOST OF THE TIME. Horrible. Disappointed. Our kiddo's wanted a good meal before we went to Six Flags and our hotel front desk person told us about this place and it did not disappoint. There were so many options to choose from and a variety for the kids to enjoy which was helpful. Everything came out in a timely manner, the waitresses were so nice and good with our group, we had a lot of kiddo's and she was soo patient with them. Everything was cooked well, the eggs were runny like they were supposed to be, nothing was burnt, and overall we had a great breakfast. read more

I was a little hesitant to try this location of Crazy Otto's as a couple years back we had been to one in Lancaster, and it was terrible. BUT, in my personal goal to eat at all the breakfast places in Santa Clarita, AND the nice email they sent me offering free pancakes for my birthday, I thought, okay, why not? So I packed my wife and son in the car and we drove to this Valencia location. We had a much better experience than in Lancaster. It's in a strip mall so overall the experience is a bit less "crazy" than the standalone structure of the other place...It's much cleaner inside, with bright colors and a spacious atmosphere. The person who seated us didn't seem particularly happy to be there or to be interacting with other humans, so we were awfully glad when another person became our server he was super friendly and a man experienced with the ins and outs of the eggs he served. A whole conversation about eggs and the various types available, even the obscure ones ensued. He knew what he was talking about and seemed happy to talk with us about them. Apparently I was the the first person ever at this location to come in with the birthday offer so that through him off for a bit and he had to double check the email I was sent on my phone. All good. Free pancakes ensued! I had the Pumpkin Pancakes...why not...it was seasonal and I already know what regular pancakes taste like. They came topped with apple pie style cooked apples...it tasted good though I think I would rather have put butter and maple syrup on it so I wish I had known the pumpkin pancakes came with the apples on it by default. My wife had an omelete and hasbrowns...It was quite a generous portion and was cooked perfectly, even the hashbrowns which can be hit or miss sometimes at breakfast places. Our son really enjoyed the breakfast burrito he ordered (no meat)...it was also huge and he was able to talk half of it home for another meal. The coffee was a dud, though. Not the worst I've had but not as strong as I wanted it to be. There's some kind of weird national default for diner coffee where it's a step or 2 above browned water. This was on the upper end of that but still kind of thin. Anyway, we all really enjoyed what we got and especially interacting with our server. This place is an absolute gem. The food is always fantastic but the true highlight of my visits here are Amanda. She's an absolute doll and I will forever keep coming back. Everyone needs to give this place a try. read more

This location doesn't even stack up to the other Crazy Otto's locations. We have tried this one a few times over the years because it is so close to where we live but continues to prove that it's not worth it. The portion sizes are smaller, quality is not there, service leaves a lot to be desired as we were ignored over and over. Have they even been to other locations? I always order a full avocado omelette. Other locations it is filled with mashed avocado and bacon. This one had 4 slices of avocado with a couple chunks of bacon across it. Not worth $20! The gravy was gross and the biscuits were not like the others. It took 30 minutes just to order, and cups were left empty, despite flagging down and leaving cups at the end of the table. If you have been to other locations, you know the vibe...this was just not it. I am glad that we tried multiple times to give it a chance. But we will not be returning. read more

I ordered the French toast breakfast and we also had the sirloin and eggs. The sirloin was burned and overcooked for medium well. Coffee was rated good. The syrup was watered down. Not thick and sweet as it should be. Service was okay. It's a busy Sunday morning. Plenty of parking. Good music. They recooked it and it was a big difference in taste. What a wonderful place to visit! A+ rating on the welcoming staff and great service! The crew worked together to keep coffee filled up and check on us! The menu options and the specials all looked so go that we will have to come back the next time we are in this area! Also, the server was very accommodating with my husband's keto substitutions. No flavor no service. Nobody greeted us, I walked up to the bar and asked where we can sit, they said any open table. We waited 5-10 minutes no menus. I got up and went to the bar..AGAIN and asked for menus. Food was lacking, absolutely no flavor whatsoever. No salt pepper or cheese on our omelette. Nobody checked on us. This was our first time here and we instantly loved the vibe inside this restaurant. My sister ordered the special which was a ribeye steak and eggs. It was a huge amount of food for $24. I ordered the patty melt on sourdough bread and instead of grilled onions, I substituted green Ortega chili. Instead of getting the homemade potato chips I got their french fries, which was an additional charge. I did not care for the french fries and I ended up leaving them. If this was my restaurant, I would have noticed that my customer didn't like the fries and would have offered a substitution. The sandwich was absolutely perfect. It was mouthwatering and so delicious. We will definitely return to this restaurant and next time I will try the homemade potato chips. read more

Good morning everyone Well my experience here. First time at this location. Smaller than the one in Santa Clarita. Service was ok not bad. Food was good I had the prime rib breakfast. And we also ordered the pork chops. We did notice the chops was smaller then at the other location. I am running through the menu. I do like the location not as busy parking lot. Everyone we came in contact with was nice and helpful. It was clean inside and we like seating in a booth was very spacious. It's near magic mountain. Glad I came to get this 2nd location. Summary: If you from outta town and you are going to magic mountain. Good spot for breakfast. If just looking for good food. Stop on in to this place. I always live with a doggy bag. Walked in and saw sheriffs coming out, so we knew the food was good. We decided to stop by because we were hungry on our way back home to the Bay Area. The place is a bit of a dive but nostalgic, which i didn't mind. Cool place. Our server was busy but kind and helpful when asked. Food came out, and my burger was perfect. Fries were a bit crispy but ok. Mimosa .was also great. My family's food was good but not hot they had to send it back, and after the reheat, they were satisfied. My family and I just spent three days in Disneyland and paid for meals easily twice the cost of our lunch here at Otto's. I have to say, this is one of my favorite meals of our trip. Portions are huge and delicious! I had the machaca and eggs, and it was soooo good. Everything was cooked through, seasoned well, and the hashbrowns were crispy and tasty without being greasy. Excellent, hearty diner food! An interesting mix of music, a friendly waitress who likes to sing along, and hearty, comforting diner food made Otto's a fun little find on our way home from a long and exhausting Disneyland trip! Just had breakfast. I do NOT understand some of the comments I read. This place has great portions, and my waitress was a girl named Amanda. I LOVED her attitude, and the whole experience. I also saw Sherrifs officers here, and they seemed super happy with this place. I have been here a couple times before, and saw sheriffs here in the past, that is usually a good sign. The Pancakes are HUGE, I mean HUGE. Eggs are eggs, mine were cooked easy as I asked, and they were done right. They give you a ton of fried potatoes also. I also had the biscuits and gravy, and it was good. I would definitely recommend this place, and is probably the best in the area. Certainly better than Black Bear, or Denny's!!!! read more

I used to love their pancakes--portions were generous and prices were reasonable. Unfortunately, that's no longer the case. Most meals are now around \$20, and the quality has gone downhill. The biscuits and gravy tasted like they came from a box and were microwaved, and the hash browns were burned. Service was disappointing too--I asked for more syrup and only got one, despite still having three large pancakes left. Asked for a to-go box and never got it, so we had to grab one ourselves. I loved the food here. I've gotten the breakfast burrito with bacon. The optional salsa it comes with is a little spicy like a medium almost mild in terms of spicy ness, but I can tolerate spicy. My hubby and grandma would opt out for sure lol. The ambiance is chill almost like a diner. And the service is good and basic. A delicious delight! My boyfriend and I were heading back into town after a camping trip when we felt like noshing. Initially, we were heading over to Denny's, but I spotted this place to my left as we were heading in. With a name like Crazy Otto's, I couldn't ignore it. Some of the yelp reviews had me worried, but this place did not disappoint. Despite it being packed, the noise level was rather pleasant. People were chatty, eating their large portions with enthusiasm. Each staff member was very attentive, offering kind attention with timely service. The decor here is super cute, too! I ordered the eggs benedict and hash browns and he had this crazy meat platter. As I've mentioned before, the portions are HUGE! Their cuts of ham and sausage resemble pork chops! My eggs benny had a light, flavorful hollandaise sauce. The perfectly poached eggs are delicately placed on a piquant ham atop a crisp English muffin. All in all, very tasty. read more
