This particular review is about the consistently friendly courteous service from the phone order takers and the delivery people. It is no secret that ever since covid customer service, especially in fast and informal food places, has gone down the tubes. Good help is hard to find, excellent help almost unavailable, yet in all my orders, I have yet to find anything to be even mildly annoyed about, much less about which to complain. The consistency month after month, year after year, speaks very highly of the owners and managers at Dom's. Their insistence that their staff treat customers right is in my mind not only the key to outstanding business results, but a testimony to the integrity of the owner/manager team.

But I do drive down Route 4 through Stillwater on occasion and when I'm in the mood for something quick to eat, I usually stop at Dom's. I think the main reason I stop there is that it has a nice parking lot in front and I don't have to worry about on street parking. So when I see Dom's right off the highway it's easy to pull into the lot. Inside, you order at the counter. It's really set up for takeout as there are only two small tables if you want to eat inside. They have a clean bathroom and a trashcan by the front door. The people at the counter have always been friendly and helpful. They serve pizza, subs, wings, and a few entrees. Cheese pizza is available by the slice, but they will throw ingredients on it and heat it up if you want it that way. Subs are decent. One time I got spaghetti to go and it was acceptable, not great. Prices are reasonable. All in all, it's a great place to stop by for a quick and easy snack or takeout meal. Not fancy, but it hits the spot.

I am not sure who I spoke to but the woman on the line did not sound the friendliest. She asked if I had her on speaker and I replied yes. I was on the road driving so I was not about to hold my phone. I then pulled over so she could hear me better. When I arrived it was busy. Payment was promptly collected from me and I had to wait an additional half an hour. When I got my margarita pie home, I found the sourdough crust to be dry as well as burnt. Also it lacked a good amount of cheese and the sauce was very sour. Now mind you I have had numerous pies from here and have tried most varieties from their seasonal offerings as well as the always available ones and they were all delish. You can imagine my surprise as I am not one to complain about cost as I know quality when I see it. I called and a woman answered saying this is Mary and I asked if I had 9 Miles East and she said no, you have the wrong number. So I called again, this time asking for the manager. The woman on the other end says this is Mary and listened to what I had to say about my margarita pie. She promptly apologized and said it was a busy night and she did not check the pizza as it was boxed. She then offered a refund which I appreciated and took my card number and phone number telling me she would text when she processed the refund. Two days later and still no follow up. I had errands to run, so I stopped in and spoke to Gordon at the front counter. He again apologized and told me Mary who I spoke to was one of the owners. I was not very happy to hear that customer service here is completely lacking. He then asked what he could do to make it up and gave me a refund on the spot. It made me unhappy to have to go in person and explain what happened once more. I have been a long time customer of 9 Miles East and have even subscribed to their home delivery and I mostly enjoyed patronizing them regularly as I really do like their food. However this experience has left me sad that I will have to move on. Good food and service really does go hand in hand.

There's a 20 to 30 minute drive time the pizza was warm when I got home it's been really cold out. I couldn't get it to reheat where the bottom of the crust was super crisp which makes me really just want to go there in person and get a Super Fresh Slice one day. I was despairing of finding a thin crust pizza that taste awesome since I moved but this was one of the best places I've gone to for pizza. My roommate gave it his seal of approval when he said it's not terrible. I've come to the conclusion he has no taste buds. It's a little more expensive than the pizza at the place I used to live at although it could be their prices went up I moved so I have no clue. Good great pizza is always worth the price.
