I really like supporting small local businesses, and Classic Crust is a place we go to once in a while when we can swing it. It is pretty expensive, which makes it more of an occasional treat for us. I do wish they used more farm-to-table, locally sourced, or organic ingredients to better match the price point. I also wish the gluten-free crust was homemade. It tastes like it might be frozen. That said, the food itself is always really good. The pizzas are a decent size (bigger than a personal pizza but smaller than a typical large takeout pizza) and there's a nice variety of options. Everything we've tried has been super tasty. The drinks are great too, just also on the pricey side. The restaurant is small and cozy, and the service has always been friendly when we've gone. It gets busy often, so it's smart to get there early if you want a table. Overall, it's a great little spot with solid food; just more of a splurge night than an everyday dinner. read more

Family opted for pizza night. The restaurant was semi full and the host was very accommodating as we asked to be seated outside. Great outdoor seating. Our waitress Ava was delightful and took care of our drink orders very quickly. Both my daughter and I found their Ginger Ale very sweet. Such a cute and idyllic white washed farmhouse that you would never suspected housed one of the best wood fire pizza places. Drove past it on our way to the Lakeside Market and thought it was too cute to pass by. Went back a little before 5 and while they had open tables they were hit hard with take out orders. I would have rate this restaurant a five plus had the service been better and as well as a little TLC is needed as well ( plates and glasses were chipped and cracked, bathroom handicapped rail when I used due to a fracture ankle came off.). Took over 20 minutes from when we were seated for wait staff to come over BUT the Pizza was absolutely fabulous. Well worth the wait. Our favorite was the meat lovers and not something I would typically order but the bacon made this pie. We ordered two pies and could have settled on one, as the pies were huge. This is my first time using Classic Crust Pizza in Clifton Park. It was a night that I didn't want to cook, my wife was out with her sisters so I decided on Pizza and someplace different. I phoned in a simple order for a pizza with sausage & pepperoni. I was told 45 minutes which isn't bad for a Wednesday evening. I showed up about 10 minutes early, was greeted and paid for the pie. I thought the price was a bit high, but this is Wood Fired Pizza and I know they are always good. The pizza was ready a few minutes later and I headed home. Stopped in right as they opened on a Saturday night and it filled up quick! They don't take reservations, but the cocktails, food, and atmosphere all are awesome, so the wait for a table can definitely be worth it. We started with a round of drinks - my mom opted for the cinnamon White Russian, my dad got a flight of beers, and I went with the Lake George Cider Project. My mom really enjoyed her cocktail, my dad was familiar with all the beers on his flight, and the cider was a nice light option with a touch of sweetness. On to apps! We were slightly unconventional - my mom went with the burrata skillet which could definitely serve as an entree for one, my dad got the chicken kebabs, and I opted for the brussel sprouts which is normally a side but worked well as an app. The garlic bread that came with the burrata skillet was so flavorful! And the brussel sprouts had a balanced sweet/tangy blend to it that I enjoyed. On to pizzas, the main attraction. It's only one size, 6 good sized slices, about the size of a small/medium at chain pizza places I'd say. A couple could easily split one pie, but with so many great options on the menu, sharing is just depriving you from the tasty delights. My mom tried the pear and Brie pizza, enjoying the subtle sweetness. My dad got the special "Grandma's pizza" which looked like a nice hearty helping of classic Italian flavors on a pizza. I chose the mushroom truffle and added on bacon; highly recommend! There's very limited seating, and it's certainly a place where people will sit at the bar to enjoy a few rounds of drinks, so arrive as close to opening time as possible to avoid a wait. Certainly the pandemic is one excuse for our not having returned her in almost two years, but laziness may be another. We really should be ordering their pizza more frequently. Not wanting to wait 4 hours to pick up pizza from a very famous establishment in Troy, we opted to call in a takeout order 15 minutes before Classic Crust's 4 PM opening. My one fear was that the wood-fired oven might not be hot enough to properly cook the pizza. Having that advance knowledge, I won't fault them for the crust being soft on the bottom and the lack of blistering bubbles and minimal char on the cornicione. My photos from two years ago show that they can achieve my desired result. Although our pizzas were among the first to be placed in the oven on this day, both had beautifully leopard spotted bottoms. I'm already looking forward to reheating the leftovers in a nonstick frypan to crisp the bottoms. I've never heard of Wickle's pickles, but then I'm not a big pickle fan. So, it was a surprise to me that I enjoyed the Wickle Pickle Pizza as much as I did. The two things that really put it over the top were the addition of crisp bacon and the textural crunch of the chunks of pickles. Garlic dill ranch and mozzarella finish it off with a wonderful marrying of flavors. The Pulled Pork Pizza almost seemed pedestrian after the Wickle's. The pork was tender, the Sriracha aioli not very spicy, the mozzarella fine, and the cole slaw added a different texture. Overall, an enjoyable pizza, just not an eye opener. Classic Crust should be renamed Burnt Crust. I've had numerous wood-fired pizzas in my lifetime and this was bad. My oil-garlic based pizza was the worst of the 3 we ordered. I was able to eat about a half of each piece because when I got down to the edge, I would have broken a tooth on the crust. In fact, a large knife couldn't cut through it. It went in the garbage. In addition, I don't think that the oil used was olive, as it tasted strange. Had I been dining inside, I would have had other options to comment in person, but we had a delivery. I went out with a couple of my buddies tonight. We are pizza Connoisseurs. We have made day trips, including New Haven, on several occasions. If there's a local pizza shop, especially wood fired. We are going. My friend had been to the food truck, so now it was time to go to the brick and mortar. In the former Roccos building, outside of Clifton Park, a New wood fired pizza place is thriving. No reservations, first come first serve. They allow parties to stay as long as desired so we waited for a long time. We sat at the bar for a bit and were seated 45 minutes after arriving. Which was OK. We were happy to chat. The beer and cocktails could use some improvements, the beer list was very pedestrian, so I had Flower Power. I also tried the Old Fashioned and it was a little imbalanced. Could use a little more sweetness, could be bolder. For food, we started with the spinach artichoke skillet served with focaccia. When I say it was the phenomenal, I mean it. It was unbelievable. I would order that as my meal. It was fresh, creamy and dreamy. Every bite had artichoke. It wasn't compensating with cheese. It was to die for, seriously. We ordered three pizzas, that's obviously what we came here for. We ordered the pepperoni, truffle mushroom, and a build your own. To summarize, the pizza could use a little work. As I mentioned, we've had a lot of wood fired pizza. You really couldn't tell these were wood fired. The crust didn't have the char we wanted, and the dough was dense and doughy, not super flavorful. We felt the pizzas were undercooked, no bubbles, no leoparding. Maybe the oven wasn't hot enough, or they weren't left in long enough. The pizza flavors were pretty good on the toppings. The pepperoni describes as "cup and char", simply wasn't, it was standard pepperoni. I know I'm being critical here, but that's what I do. This isn't a negative review, just constructive criticism. This is a great spot. Super quaint and amazing atmosphere. I'm hoping they improve because they have the opportunity to put out amazing pizzas. Man I loved this place! Owner sat us immediately even though the place was hopping. Great appetizers, we tried the bacon wrapped dates. Whoa so good. And then we had the Pear and Brie pizza. Which pared well (no pun intended) from the richness of the dates and the light flavors of the pizza. Also good beer list. The restaurant is very clean with a neo/ country farmhouse vibe. What a great spot for pizza! We came here on a Friday night and waited about 15 minutes before our party was seated. The place is so nice looking and has tons of rustic features. Our server came over right away to take our drink order and we opted to try the rose and an Adirondack Pilsner. Both were great and we appreciated the Manu options of wine, beer and cocktails. For starters, we ordered the charcuterie board and figs stuffed with goat cheese and bacon. They were both fantastic but the charcuterie board was the star of the show. It was huge and had three different delicious cheeses, fresh jam, dried fruit, nuts, olives, capicola and sopressata. For our entrees, we ordered the Truffle Mushroom pizza, spinach salad and the meatball skillet dish. The pizza was so fresh and cooked perfectly. The truffle oil was amazing! We were so excited classic crust finally settled down their food truck and opened a brick and mortar near us. The pizza near us so far has been disappointing and we had a bathroom remodeling of workers to feed. When they started doing ordering from the truck while doing building renovations I was impressed. Now that they've officially moved in I'm even more impressed. The waitstaff is friendly and Covid compliant. The tables are sanitized between customers and there's plenty of distance. We got two pizzas (one feeds two people but we wanted lunch) one spo and another off the secret menu: which is pizza specials they have had that the ingredients are still on site for. The lasagna pizza has all the components of lasagna and none of the 3 hour prep time. Also on Wednesday the wine on tap is $7. read more
