White Pizza with Chicken and ricotta

Four stars for pizza takeout Five for variety of pizzas offered Four for preparation of pizzas Ordered a variety of pizzas to go for a family get together. My daughter recommended the place. The pizzas got a little cool during the solid 20 minute ride home. We did not reheat; we dove it as soon as they arrived. "Eating in" was not an option for us. We enjoyed the round wood fired pizzas since the crusts were crispy. We like wood fired pizzas on the thin side. The pizza selection is amazing, and it took time for my daughter and I to select the pizzas to order from the many available. I ordered online before they opened with no issues. Pizzas we ordered: --Three Classic Cheese for the kids and any adult with simple tastes. (Not as good as elsewhere, kinda dry; we should have ordered two not three.) --Truffle Mushroom (a favorite, flavorful) --Crab Rangoon (another favorite, a surprise, none leftover) --Wickle Pickle (surprise favorite) --Meat Lovers (I thought it was salty, prob the bacon, but none leftover) Pulled Pork with coleslaw (disappointed, tasted little sour to me) Fig and Goat Cheese with Arugula (We thought the fig jam was too sweet and like it better with fresh figs.) Build your own: White Pizza with Chicken and ricotta (Dry and lacked flavor) Since we order often from Pizza Works Burnt Hills, we thought the Classic Crust pizzas were a nice change for a new experience. Check out the photos I took of each pizza.

This is my first time using Classic Crust Pizza in Clifton Park. It was a night that I didn't want to cook, my wife was out with her sisters so I decided on Pizza and someplace different. I phoned in a simple order for a pizza with sausage & pepperoni. I was told 45 minutes which isn't bad for a Wednesday evening. I showed up about 10 minutes early, was greeted and paid for the pie. I thought the price was a bit high, but this is Wood Fired Pizza and I know they are always good. The pizza was ready a few minutes later and I headed home. The venue has inside and outside seating and is very clean. I thought the pizza was very good, but the price a bit high. They have a huge assortment of food items that I want to try next.

First time trying this place. Came in from out of town after living away from this area 35 years. Young staff, all extremely good looking and super friendly, nice and professional... extremely impressed to be honest. All smiled and said thank you and good bye when we left. The owner/manager is doing a great job. The bartender Ty and Victoria the keep I believe were on it. Heads up fast friendly and smiles. A-1 staff. Pizza... pickles and bacon and ranch ? Oh my ! Wow! I took a risk and we loved it. Greatly unexpected. Traditional sausage pizza great too. The place and crowd... super nice people, and not too dark or too bright. Done really nice and classy. Loved the experience...I'll be back ...

Certainly the pandemic is one excuse for our not having returned her in almost two years, but laziness may be another. We really should be ordering their pizza more frequently. Not wanting to wait 4 hours to pick up pizza from a very famous establishment in Troy, we opted to call in a takeout order 15 minutes before Classic Crust's 4 PM opening. My one fear was that the wood-fired oven might not be hot enough to properly cook the pizza. Having that advance knowledge, I won't fault them for the crust being soft on the bottom and the lack of blistering bubbles and minimal char on the cornicione. My photos from two years ago show that they can achieve my desired result. Although our pizzas were among the first to be placed in the oven on this day, both had beautifully leopard spotted bottoms. I'm already looking forward to reheating the leftovers in a nonstick frypan to crisp the bottoms. I've never heard of Wickle's pickles, but then I'm not a big pickle fan. So, it was a surprise to me that I enjoyed the Wickle Pickle Pizza as much as I did. The two things that really put it over the top were the addition of crisp bacon and the textural crunch of the chunks of pickles. Garlic dill ranch and mozzarella finish it off with a wonderful marrying of flavors. The Pulled Pork Pizza almost seemed pedestrian after the Wickle's. The pork was tender, the Sriracha aioli not very spicy, the mozzarella fine, and the cole slaw added a different texture. Overall, an enjoyable pizza, just not an eye opener. Service was friendly and efficient. Both pizzas were ready at the promised time.

I kept passing by this place for several weeks and always noticed the parking lot was full of cars. Finally stopped in and glad I did, as I ordered a half Fig & Goat Cheese and half BLT pizza with a Bees Knee cocktail. Everything was perfect, service awesome and overall I was glad I finally tried it.

I went out with a couple of my buddies tonight. We are pizza Connoisseurs. We have made day trips, including New Haven, on several occasions. If there's a local pizza shop, especially wood fired. We are going. My friend had been to the food truck, so now it was time to go to the brick and mortar. In the former Roccos building, outside of Clifton Park, a New wood fired pizza place is thriving. No reservations, first come first serve. They allow parties to stay as long as desired so we waited for a long time. We sat at the bar for a bit and were seated 45 minutes after arriving. Which was OK. We were happy to chat. The beer and cocktails could use some improvements, the beer list was very pedestrian, so I had Flower Power. I also tried the Old Fashioned and it was a little imbalanced. Could use a little more sweetness, could be bolder. For food, we started with the spinach artichoke skillet served with focaccia. When I say it was the phenomenal, I mean it. It was unbelievable. I would order that as my meal. It was fresh, creamy and dreamy. Every bite had artichoke. It wasn't compensating with cheese. It was to die for, seriously. We ordered three pizzas, that's obviously what we came here for. We ordered the pepperoni, truffle mushroom, and a build your own. To summarize, the pizza could use a little work. As I mentioned, we've had a lot of wood fired pizza. You really couldn't tell these were wood fired. The crust didn't have the char we wanted, and the dough was dense and doughy, not super flavorful. We felt the pizzas were undercooked, no bubbles, no leoparding. Maybe the oven wasn't hot enough, or they weren't left in long enough. The pizza flavors were pretty good on the toppings. The pepperoni describes as "cup and char", simply wasn't, it was standard pepperoni. I know I'm being critical here, but that's what I do. This isn't a negative review, just constructive criticism. This is a great spot. Super quaint and amazing atmosphere. I'm hoping they improve because they have the opportunity to put out amazing pizzas. The place is clearly poppin, check it out yourself!

Great place to get a pizza and a cocktail. The ambience is set in and older building in Jonesville. Ava, our waitress was amazing as well as the food and drinks. Definitely will go again. They do not accept reservations so plan ahead on Fridays and Saturdays.

I am looking for a location that sells a good variety of slices, has sit-down tables which you actually want to sit in (no rocking tables and dirty floors for me), and has friendly staff. We recently came here again while in the area and I rediscovered it. It is definitely the best... bar none. They expanded next door into a location previously used by H&R Block, and the increased dining space is wonderful. The variety of slices they had at lunch is staggering, and not just the usual suspects either. They had eggplant lasagna pizza; chicken Fra Diavolo pizza with hot peppers (yum!); mac & cheese pizza with or without Buffalo chicken; salad pizza; etc. All looked good, and my Fra Diavolo pizza has become my favorite here. Of note: their Hawaiian pizza is a white pizza (no sauce), which is extremely unusual, but they provided a cup of sauce on the side which restored balance to the galaxy. I should point out that every Italian restaurant has their own style of red sauce: some are too acidic, some are too salty, some are too heavy with dried herbs, and some don't use enough. This place has a sauce which is similar to my Grandmas (the best!), and it is salty and acidic and oily and delicious. I could see myself parking in a chair one afternoon with a good book and slowly trying slice after slice. Since we live only about 20 minutes away, I think I will need to make the trek up to here more often.

Yesterday for lunch I grab a…read moreslice of 2 Coming in hot with a 3.5-star rating, this spot almost hits that elite tier--but there are a few things holding it back from greatness. First off, presentation and crust game? Solid. You're getting a good bake, decent structure, and slices that hold their own. Not floppy, not overly stiff right in that respectable middle lane. That's a win. Now let's talk about the sauce... because this is where things get mixed. Taking a look at some of the chatter on Yelp, there's a noticeable trend and I've got to agree. The sauce is inconsistent. Some bites hit with a nice tang and balance, but others feel either a little too sweet or lacking depth. It doesn't always punch through the cheese like you want it to. For a place trying to compete in the pizza game, sauce consistency is everything--and right now, it's just not elite. Cheese and toppings are good--not mind-blowing, but definitely respectable. No complaints there. Quality is there, just not standout.

But it's the quality assurance of this place.... half the time you order on a Saturday and their system accepts the order, the DoorDash driver comes by and "whoops!" they're closed. Then you ask when they open and they'll say 10am... and someone says "we had a family emergency"... and while I get that, how about you turn off the ordering system to accept the orders so I'm not out the money and the driver doesn't waste time driving to pick up the food? Then sometimes you'll get a great saucy pizza (which I love).... but other times, someone just decides to be lazy and take a pizza they've had sitting around under the counter for slices and just use that. So you paid $15+ for a pizza to be cooked fresh and you get a pizza that's dry and tastes like someone reheated the whole pizza. That was the last straw for me because they do it so many times... both of those things. Great pizza sauce, great pizza, but OMG, I can tell why I never see anyone inside your pizza place whenever I go... And they haven't changed... they used to sometimes just burn the crap out of the pizza too... you'd get a pizza that crumbles in your hand under it, or sometimes you'll get a crust with a huge bubble in the middle because they just didn't care. And that's why I stopped ordering from them... just laziness and no one is really around to make sure they don't do these things...... shame, really.

After devouring four juicy, flavorful wings that I dipped into their excellent very chunky homemade blue cheese dressing, I understand the hype. Does the breading enhance the flavor and make the sauce coat the wings better? I believe so. The wings both drum and flat were meaty. Extra parm was at the bottom of the serving dish and could be spooned onto wings. She also served Bourbon BBQ, Thai Chile, Korean, and PB and Jelly Breaded Wings. The Korean and Thai were delicious. The Bourbon and PB & J were too sweet for my taste, but they were enjoyed by others. Boneless Wings were typical fare. Wow! Breaded Wings are minimum of Five Stars! Delicious! I did not like the COB (cheese in bottom) Pizza. The crust and COB were good, but the thick top layer of slightly sweet not savory red sauce was unappealing to me. The other pizza from Red Front was a rectangular thin crusted cheese pizza that was okay but a little dried out. Family including kids preferred the round cheese pizza from Pizza Works that was available along with their Mac & Cheese Pizza. There's some buzz around their upside-down/COB-style pizza, and on paper, it should hit. But execution? That's where things fall apart. Crust comes out too thick and bready, lacking that crisp bite you expect. It feels more like filler than foundation. When you pick up a slice, it just doesn't have that structure or snap. Now the big issue the sauce. You guys know I'm a sauce snob. It leans heavy, overly sweet, and kind of flat. Instead of elevating the slice, it overwhelms it. You don't get that balanced, tangy tomato flavor just a one-note layer that sits on top of everything. Cheese and overall bake? Inconsistent. Some areas overcooked, others just sitting there. It doesn't come together as one cohesive slice. Even looking at Yelp (around that 3.3 range), it lines up this is a spot people want to like, but the consistency and quality just aren't there.
