I have to say the food that this location delivers is good, the one problem I have is with the crew that hands the orders off to the customer. It doesn't seem that they like to repeat the number they call off for orders and if there's a problem with the order they seem to argue with the customer rather than reading the receipt and seeing what we paid for. This happened to us today. We ordered two SHAWARMAS with a side of Garlic Sauce.........so we received the two SHAWARMAS without the sauce on the side and even after the cashier confirmed we had ordered the side and paid for it the expediter still argued and finally handed it to use with a TON OF ATTITUDE!!!! Not good customer service. Never have an issue with the Michigan Ave location but the Piquette store...... you may walk away shaking your head and saying what just happened and why. read more

They have the best chicken in Detroit and the portions are fantastic BUT this is a perfect example of how service can truly affect your product. Every single cashier I've dealt with whether by phone or in person at every location is hella rude. They act like they're doing you a favor by picking up the phone or ringing you up. I don't understand why this seems to be the norm at this establishment. As another comment before mentions, the service for call in is so slow and doesn't seem to get rung in until you arrive there. The food is great, but the customer service is so POOR that I would rather sit around famished than deal with this subpar Detroit staple. The cashiers are consistently rude, the "restaurant" (it's actually a kitchen with a counter and maybe five seats for its patrons who would like to dine-in) is consistently crowded, the management is consistently useless-that I would almost rather eat my own hair than deal with this place. I purposely visit sporadically hoping that one day I will be treated as a consumer but every time I'm here, I am surprised by how ill mannered the cashiers are. If you don't mind being treated as if you're an inconvenience at a place of business, I recommend going elsewhere. Great food, terrible service! I ordered a shawarma and straight fries, got the shawarma in a timely manor but the fries took forever. I inquired twice about while eating the shawarma only to told they will be out shortly. They finally arrived when I finished my shawarma. ThIs place use to be one of my all time fave places to go for Mediterranean food with an American cuisine twist!!! But the more locations they open the less the quality of their food. On several occasions my chicken has been undercooked in my shawarma making the meat so tuff I couldn't chew it. I hate writing this review because Bucharest was one of the first restaurants recommended to me when I came to Detroit. I've ordered takeout on 4 occasions in the past 6 months. The order has been incorrect on 4 occasions lol. Most recently the gave me the wrong salad size and forgot my PITA bread. The salad itself is not to the quality of Bucharest of old. It was mostly lettuce with hardly any green pepper, cucumber or tomatoes. I'm going to try a different location but I really really miss Bucharest at Park Bar. read more

I always get the chicken or steak shwarma. I will occassionally get curly fries which aremt as awesome as they sound but sometimes i want salt with my salt. I say that because the chicken is extremely salty. I oddly enough like it so i keep going back. When im not feeling the salt i switch it up and get the steak. The young ladies that work here are very rude and disrespectful. One time I called to place an order and the young lady I talked to hung up on me before I was able to finish my order. Another time I went up there to place an order and to pick up an call in order. I waited 35 minutes for the call in order only to see with my own two eyes that my call in order was under the counter were you pay for your food the whole time. Bucharest on Piquette: The customer service is atrocious. Andy the manager very evidently does not know how to handle customers. An item was left out of my order and he blamed me! He never apologized and he was rude and disrespectful. I cater from here and I have all my Ford company outings here... This service has certainly put a stop to that. Andy, you should be ashamed! Well, I was really pumped to try this place, I've been hearing great things about it. I went at about 1:30 in the afternoon and it was packed. (Which I figured, lunch time) I ordered the Hamtramck Dog and Curly Fries. I saw people come and go for about 15 minutes. I finally got my dog. I ate that, still didn't get my fries. I was disrespected by their probably 20 year old manager. I came from Southfield to this location. I ordered $20 worth of food. I asked for my garlic paste on the side instead of my wrap because they put so much on there, they tell me they have to charge me even though it comes with my sandwich. I checked my food to make sure it was right. I get home, thumb through my potatoes and they filled my container of potatoes with green peppers, six pieces of potato and not even a teaspoon of cheese for $5 dollars so I returned them. Amazing food!! We stopped here on our way to the Fisher and got a chicken schwarma and a chicken schwarma salad. The small chicken salad had the equivalent of one and a half chicken breasts. The schwarma was huge and was so incredibly flavorful!! I got a side of hummus and garlic sauce just in case but the flavor and size of the sandwich was HUGE. I cannot wait to go back!! I order the catering trays frequently for our organization. Price was 15.99 if you order 5 or more trays (regular price was 18.99 per tray for the Chicken Shawarma Salad Tray, Hummus Tray and the House Salad Tray). Recently called to place my catering order tray and was informed that the price is now 20.95 per tray for chicken salad tray and no discount if you order 5 or more trays. What a drastic price increase from my order last month to this month!!! Bucharest has been good to Detroit, but Detroit has also been good to Bucharest. Also there is no customer service skills, "no smiles, no thank you, or we appreciate you choosing Bucharest". This is something that your company should really address!!! read more
