ok i wanted to love this place so bad but the salt they put on the chicken for the Shwarma's will give you highblood pressure if you dont have it already! The Chicken Shwarma i got wasnt what a lot of people said it was, that it was huge, mines wasnt, it was regular and either the garlic sauce is scarce around there or they just dont believe in putting enough of it on the sandwichl, I didnt taste it till i got to the bottom of the Shwarma. I also had the Potatoes and carrots and onions, its too greasy and too much seasoning on it, however it wasnt too too bad, the Shwarma wasnt bad its just overly seasoned . BUT here if is a few hours later i been in the bathroom none stop since going there and i only ate there today. I read several reviews all over the internet after i went there that complaning to the mgrs is a waste of time because they really don't care about your complaints! Since I got sick and I'm a dialysis person I cant risk going back there and risk my health and all that salt, its going to kill me and other people! I saw several reviews complaining about too much salt I wish they listen to the people and cut down on it and then work on caring about their customers because WE the customers is who keeps you in business and without US you close down, let that marinate for a minute! read more

The first two times we got carryout from this place, the food was fantastic. The schwarmas were cooked to perfection, the garlic sauce extremely tasty... we were in Mediterranean Heaven. If I were just rating those two visits alone, I would have given it five stars. This evening, we got carryout again. Hubby got the Chicken Schwarma sandwich with fries, I got an order of Hummus with Beef. While Hubby was satisfied with his order, I was less than impressed when I bit into a huge piece of gristle. I gamely put it aside and continued to eat, only to come upon another gristly piece. When I stopped eating and started searching through my beef, I found several more pieces. I promptly lost all appetite and threw it away. I so wanted to love this place, especially with how good the first two orders were. But several pieces of gristle in a plate that costs something like $8 cannot justify any higher a rating than three stars. Too bad. read more

This is only for the food, since a co-worker picked it up. I had the chicken shawarma and it was pretty fantastic. The meat had a nice grilled flavor and the toum was pungent, like it should be. The pita was solid, though I like it to have a bit more chew. All over a great lunch. read more

I ordered the chicken shawarma and it was too seasoned, like too much of whatever kind of seasoning that they used. But on the bright side I ordered my sandwich and it was in my hands in less than five minutes. I will try them again just to see if this was a fluke or if this is the norm. read more

Customer service is absolutely terrible. I called three times to place a catering, at both locations, only to be told each time that they're too busy to take my order and to call back (I called morning, afternoon and late afternoon). After explaining to them that I have tried placing this order three times at both locations and that I am getting frustrated, the girl told me, "I don't know what to tell you but we're busy so I have to go". Bucharest has amazing food, but really need to reconsider who they've hired to deal with customers. I've never had to try so hard to give someone $400. I love Bucharest Grill!! I'm a big fan of the chicken shawarma and Fatoosh Salad. I always add fries inside the shawarma wrap, its delicious! You can always get your food quickly at this location. I would definitely recommend this to someone who hasn't tried it. read more

I was expecting traditional Mediterranean food. It's been American'ized. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma. It was cubed chicken, not the shaved chicken, and grilled. Had food from here 2 days ago & it was pretty good but cashier was seriously RUDE!!So I stopped by this evening for more food. at the same place.While waiting for my food, I bought some cake. I took the bag of food when my # was called just as I had done 2 days before.To my dismay when I opened the bag at home--no hummus. My receipt clearly shows that I paid for hummus so I called them. Mike (THE MANAGER) never came to fone & I had to speak via a cashier. I was told that I must check each item before leaving their counter. Mike refused to give me my hummus. 2 days ago it was so crowded it would have been impossible to examine my items. I'm so ticked off. This is the best. THE BEST. I am spoiled completely by the place and I have yet to find a place that lives up to this joint. Please order the shawarma (recommend the: Bucharest special, beef, or chicken) and be happy in life. The pita is soft and folds the piping hot contents. The meat is seasoned, juicy and tender. Just terrible. We LOVED the original...so my hopes were high that it would be as good. We placed our orders and waited and waited....and waited. Everyone around us was receiving their food...after 20 minutes I inquired if everything was ok. After ten more minutes a horribly rude waitress dropped of our food. She was perfectly awful and we were nothing but polite. To top it off, my chicken was dry and cold...my father's beef was too. I won't go out of my way to come here again, that's for sure. My friends have been raving about this place so I decided to give it a try. I'm from Dearborn, so I've had plenty of good authentic shawarma sandwiches. I knew this had a twist and I wanted to give it a try. Well, let's just say I was disappointed. This is a story of how a resturant got so big it lost its touch. Lots of staff, assembly line sandwich makers. I got my order the entire sandwich was cold, I could tell the chicken was precooked hours before. Whoever made the marinade put wayyyy too much salt in it. The garlic sauce was good. Overall, I would not suggest it. When I think chicken shawarma sandwich, I would think of very warm hot off the grill chicken just baking in flavor, I'm pretty sure that's the way it once was, but not today or in the future. I have enjoyed different iterations of chicken shawarma in various cities in the U.S. and beyond. I have settled on the east side of Detroit, and was very excited to find out that the Bucharest Grill was moving close to my neighborhood. The idea of not having to drive 15 mins on a pothole riddled highway to get a good middle eastern sandwich staple was beyond thrilling to me. Today being a lazy, rainy Sunday, I called in an order, and when I drove to the new location I was pleased to see that the restaurant was bustling with both eat-in patrons and others waiting to pick up their orders. It was about a four minute wait for me, and I found the staff to be reasonably friendly and prompt. When I rushed home and dug in, I have to say that I was disappointed in the chicken shawarma that I ordered. It did not taste like authentic shawarma which is acceptable, as I gathered from the name of the restaurant and various items on the menu that this is a "fusion" restaurant. The problem is that it was extremely SALTY!! So salty in fact that I was unable to finish it. And I am not a lightweight when it comes to salt. I downed three glasses of water immediately. I am all for hydration but not necessarily via this methodology. I went back to read reviews from the other locations and found that the issue of excess salt is a running theme. I really want this restaurant to succeed on Jefferson avenue, so I will come back and try some of the other options but I will hesitate before attempting to eat the chicken shawarma sandwich again.... Lastly, if anyone who has an influence on the ingredients of and their proportions within the chicken shawarma sandwich is reading this review- be it owner, head chef, sous chef or recipe technician- FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS RIGHTEOUS AND GOOD COULD YOU PLEASE CUT OUT SOME OF THE SALT IN THE CHICKEN SHAWARMA SANDWICH?!?! read more

Heard about this place from several people once I came into town so I knew I had to come try it out! The shop was pretty busy but the line up moves really quick. Food is served to your table. The prices of the wraps are very very good for the portion size. We got the chicken shawarma wraps, fries and falafels. The wraps were delicious. The meat is less like shawarma but more like seasoned chicken breast that's cut into large chunks. One wrap is super filling! The fries were delicious (almost like Costco fries) as well as the falafels (except they were a little hard on the outside). Overall a very messy but great experience! read more

I love this place! I really like how much staff they have. The service is so efficient. If you're looking for a place to chat with your cashier and ask suggestions, this is not it. They are trained to get orders in and out quickly in a timely manner. I like the big spacious environment and the music too. The food is amazing. I came here on a night of a college football game, so it was extremely busy. Apart from that, it was an interesting experience. There wasn't an over abundance of seating, but on a normal night it probably works out. I liked the beer selection that was offered here, and if you get the food, get the hot dogs. These aren't any normal hot dogs. They are hot dogs from heaven. I don't even like half the things that were on the hot dogs but I loved every single one I tried. They're also pretty giant, so more than one hot dog would be too much for one person. I tried the stuffed grape leaves but I wasn't impressed. Dropped in for lunch a few weeks ago, and was very impressed by this new, and much larger, Bucharest grill. It has the ambience of the other 2 grills - yes very noisy - which requires you to yell out your order to the cashier. BUT - what make this locations GREAT..... Plenty of FREE parking in the shopper center lot, and plenty of seating to enjoy your meal. I always order the Chicken Shawarma, which is beyond description on how large and delicious it is. Make sure you can eat lots of curly fries, since their portion size is HUGE - more than enough to share between 2 people. An extra star in this review for the excellent customer service. REMEMBER.... you have to order your meal at the cash registers as you enter..... You will be given a plastic place card number to put on your table, for them to bring out your order. read more
