Women's soccer from the "beer garden"
    Jenn W.

I like how another review compared this "stadium" to a high school field. This is a pretty accurate statement. If you plan on even drinking a beer at one of these games, you shouldn't waste your money and buy good seats since you aren't even allowed to drink in your seat. You have to drink in their small "beer garden," but it isn't so bad because it is in a good location. Also, I would not bother paying for parking. You are better off saving that money and going to The Hut for a few drinks prior to the game and parking on the street and walking to the stadium.

Really great place to watch a soccer game. Check it out for Santa Clara soccer or MLS Earthquakes action.

Though I didn't grow up an avid soccer fan, going to a MLS game is still pretty exciting.

First time I've watched soccer and saw it from the huge stadium. People were friendly, lots of adults, and kid friendly. Food trucks some were good some were meh. I liked the truck that sold big bang for dinero of yummy lemonade. Huge drink. Tart, and juicy. Another truck had coffee drinks. I got the cold one with whipped cream. Very good. Not worth it: the burger truck. It was plain and expensive. Like you know cafeteria school burger. It was an ick. I regretted it.

Parking, entering and exiting were relatively easy. Staff is friendly. Cons: Food concessions were horrible! We went to buy dinner BEFORE THE MATCH STARTED. First place we went to offered 3 items. They were sold out of 2 and the cashier didn't even know it. Another employee informed her. (Come to think of it, I didn't ask about the 3rd item so maybe they were out of that as well.) We instead went to the new, heavily-promoted chicken place. They were nearly out of everything and we were told they weren't making any more. Again, this was BEFORE THE MATCH STARTED. We did get a few items and they were quite bad. My tenders and tots were dry and flavorless. I didn't finish them. If we go again, we'll try the food trucks instead. Signage is poor. We managed to get there fine between GPS and traffic flow but it was never clear what lane we should/could be in. Same with leaving. Maybe I was spoiled by recently watching the World Cup on TV, but I was shocked by the complete lack of information and statistics given to the crowd either by PA or onscreen. The scoreboard (half of which usually showed ads) occasionally showed replays and displayed the score, but that was it. It struck me that a hearing impaired person would literally only know the score. I kind of liked how the PA didn't talk much, but, if that's the case, there needs to be information displayed somewhere. We sat near the corner and the view and sight lines were actually decent but I found it odd that the seats weren't angled towards the field. We either had to sit diagonally in our seats or sit with our heads turned. My neck was sore by halftime.

Parking is easy. Paid $15 to park in the structure next to the stadium. Getting out of the lot was a bit slow as everyone was leaving but there were guides and moved quickly after a while. We got searched and tickets scanned. For a few dollars, you can practice pitching and hang out in the bounce house. Concession are standard except for the garlic fries and the churros. My goodness, the churro is FRESHLY FRIED! None of that frozen stuff heated in the toaster. These churros were fried! The best part? It was only $5!!! The stadium experience was great! Friendly crowds. The firework show are at the end of the night? Impressive! It blew my expectations away! Definitely worth it if you like baseball and want a fireworks show! Food and drink stations were pretty good - I had the corndog and it was just what I needed to complement the experience. Great selection of beers and ciders. Only thing.. we sat in the SUPER SUNNY section! It was HOT! Next time we'll try to get the shade. There is a parking garage close by.... But be warned... it takes FOREVER to get out after the game. They really need to work on multiple exit points. Restrooms were plentiful and clean - TG! Would I go back? YES!! GO GIANTS!!

San Jose State University versus Boise State University. We were lucky to get tickets from my friend's son. There were 21K+ people at the game. It was freezing cold. I am thankful I had a beanie and my Ugg boots and jacket to keep me warm. I also remembered to bring a seat cushion for my seat on the bleachers. Overall, I had a good experience watching a college football game for the first time. The only down side was the parking was full. My friend told me in time so I end up taking uber there instead so I don't have to worry about parking. Then finding the will call ticket was a challenge. I didn't know the will call tickets were right where the ticket booth was. They should add Will Call to the Ticket Booth sign. Just took some time to find the will call to get my ticket. Overall, if you come during the winter, make sure to dress warm and bring transparent bag. It's a good stadium to watch a football game.

I wish the Sharks would communicate better regarding how they coordinate and lay out player autographs during both the early Sharks365 sessions and the subsequent General Admission autograph session. It helps with a game plan to help your kids get as many autographs as possible. The coordination of all three on-ice photo opportunities are very organized - a necessity when it's so crowded! Great price, even going to the movies with 4 people costs more than that! How could we say no??? Parking was well managed even with Santa Clara street being blocked off for an event. NOTE! SAP center changed their bag policy so we had to leave our purses/mini backpacks in the car. Their website is updated with what is acceptable. SAP center staff is always great at helping everyone and I love how personable they are. A pleasure to deal with! In the morning we were able to watch the players practice on the ice for about an hour. My son caught one of the practice pucks that flew over the glass which instantly made the ticket purchase worth it! There was a section to take a photo booth picture, pictures with sharkie, pictures on the ice, get your face painted, kids athletic area, and of course the meet the players/autographs. I wish that there was a published program that we could take that showed the times of all the events. Lines got long pretty quickly without us knowing what it was for. Prior to the event I guess there was an email that was sent out where you could reserve your time to take photos on the ice otherwise you wouldn't be able to do it. Kind of a bummer as the line didn't seem so long. My daughter had a stamp from doing the kids work out and a staff member let her line up to take a picture with the shark head but since the rest of our family didn't have a stamp we went back up to get one then found out we couldn't take a picture........ yet my daughter had no reservation and was able to line up so?? Aside from that (which wasn't a big deal) I think this was a great event to go to and definitely worth the price especially if you are a sharks fan. We were able to get super close to the players and it really was a great fan experience to be able to walk the SAP center so freely. If they could publish a schedule and maybe be more organized with the timing of things then that would improve it a bit. We will likely be back for the next one :).
