-99 stars for the AFL (Arena Football League) for shutting down for the 2009 season, they say that they will return next year, but I have my doubts. (They made some very questionable decisions for expansion locations...) +25 stars for the Saber kittens. Normally not a fan of the cheerleaders, they usually get in the way of the sports, I must say I do like them and appreciate their routines. I think that Golden State should replace their warrior girls with them. +50 stars for the smart ownership, John Fry, (owner of fry electronics) your a awesome owner who made good, smart business practices that entertain the fans night in and night out! The half time shows kick ass! +25 stars for Arena bowl championships in 2002, 2004 and 2007, two conference titles and eight division titles. +25 fun and affordable evenings out for the family and players always gave autographs to the little ones.... And the ladies. Sadly I was neither. +500 stars for the very supportive fans that continually has a very high turn out, 10,000+ at every game! They give such an electric atmosphere! I really, really hope that they come back next year in 2010. It honestly isn't looking to good considering that they are offering full refunds to their 2009 season ticket holders if you call their office. Let's hope they will come back soon, the Sabercats gave me my football fix when the NFL is on vacation. If you haven't seen one in person, you've severally missed out, so make sure that you pray to the football gods that the AFL's return....

As an NFL junkie I'm always going though football withdrawals during the off-season. Some friends and I decided to watch the San Jose Sabercats game to fill the void. While it's not the same as watching NFL games it was still somewhat exciting. This is the best way I can explain watching the Sabercats play or any arena football games. While watching the game is fun I can't take it seriously. I don't know any of the players so I can't root for them and while I might have a general sense of the rules I still don't know all the rules in detail. Overall, it was a good experience and I'm glad I went. My friends and I are already planning on going to the next home game.

They are one of the original mls teams from the beginning in the 90s. Chris Wondolowski is the legendary local player. The stadium is open and modern with food trucks, open air bar and a great atmosphere. The fans are passionate and make the environment fun. It's a family friendly environment. Tickets are reasonable for sports games. The reason I give 3 stars is because the owners and management have turned this team into one of the worst in the league. The owners refuse to keep up with investment in players like other teams. It makes being a supportive fan very difficult. The good news is that they recently fired the awful general manager and things will hopefully improve.

The San Jose Earthquakes are one of the original nine MLS members that began play in 1996. Over…read morethat time, the Quakes have qualified for the MLS Cup Playoffs nine times and won two of them (2001 and 2003). In addition to those two championships, the team was very successful in the early 2000s, making the playoffs five straight years from 2001 to 2005. Probably the most well-known person to play for the Quakes is retired American soccer star Landon Donovan. The MLS MVP award is named after him after all. Donovan won a record six MLS Cups during his playing career. He was a member of both the 2001 and 2003 San Jose championship teams. While he was the team's top goalscorer in 2003 (12 goals), Salvadoran striker Ronald Cerritos was actually the team's top scorer in 2001 (11 goals). In 2001, Quakes coach Frank Yallop was named MLS Coach of the Year and players Jeff Agoos and Troy Dayak won the Defender of the Year and Comeback Player of the Year awards, respectively. In 2003, Quakes goalkeeper Pat Onstad was the league's Goalkeeper of the Year. Due to a combination of stadium, ownership, trademark, and other related issues, the San Jose Earthquakes were inactive for the 2006 and 2007 seasons. The team really hasn't been the same since, failing to qualify for the playoffs most years. Over the past decade, San Jose has routinely finished sixth or worst in the Western Conference. On the bright side, the Earthquakes are one of only a handful of MLS teams to win the MLS Cup multiple times. They've also won the Supporters' Shield twice for having the best regular season record in 2005 and 2012. San Jose is currently led by All-Star veteran forward Chris Wondolowski whose present stint with the team began in 2009. Wondolowski led the league in scoring two times (2010, 2012) and was MVP in 2012. He is, by far, the franchise's all-time leader in games played and goals scored. His records would be even greater if his stats from his time with the Houston Dynamo (2006-2009) somehow counted, but that is another story.

It is always clean, well kept, and comfortable. The bathroom lines are short even during busy times and the bathrooms themselves are very clean. That alone makes a big difference during games. The food in the lounge is also excellent. The hand carved pastrami is fantastic and something I look forward to every visit. Huge shoutout to Patrick Lockwood who is an incredible Sharks365 rep. He goes above and beyond every time, is always responsive, and makes sure all of your questions are answered. You can tell he genuinely cares about creating a great experience. Also want to recognize Nick in Section 114. He is always kind, welcoming, and brings great energy to the game. He does an awesome job getting fans hyped and makes the section even more fun. Overall, an amazing experience every time. Clean lounge, great food, great people, and an easy 5 stars.

First time I've watched soccer and saw it from the huge stadium. People were friendly, lots of adults, and kid friendly. Food trucks some were good some were meh. I liked the truck that sold big bang for dinero of yummy lemonade. Huge drink. Tart, and juicy. Another truck had coffee drinks. I got the cold one with whipped cream. Very good. Not worth it: the burger truck. It was plain and expensive. Like you know cafeteria school burger. It was an ick. I regretted it.

Parking, entering and exiting were relatively easy. Staff is friendly. Cons: Food concessions were horrible! We went to buy dinner BEFORE THE MATCH STARTED. First place we went to offered 3 items. They were sold out of 2 and the cashier didn't even know it. Another employee informed her. (Come to think of it, I didn't ask about the 3rd item so maybe they were out of that as well.) We instead went to the new, heavily-promoted chicken place. They were nearly out of everything and we were told they weren't making any more. Again, this was BEFORE THE MATCH STARTED. We did get a few items and they were quite bad. My tenders and tots were dry and flavorless. I didn't finish them. If we go again, we'll try the food trucks instead. Signage is poor. We managed to get there fine between GPS and traffic flow but it was never clear what lane we should/could be in. Same with leaving. Maybe I was spoiled by recently watching the World Cup on TV, but I was shocked by the complete lack of information and statistics given to the crowd either by PA or onscreen. The scoreboard (half of which usually showed ads) occasionally showed replays and displayed the score, but that was it. It struck me that a hearing impaired person would literally only know the score. I kind of liked how the PA didn't talk much, but, if that's the case, there needs to be information displayed somewhere. We sat near the corner and the view and sight lines were actually decent but I found it odd that the seats weren't angled towards the field. We either had to sit diagonally in our seats or sit with our heads turned. My neck was sore by halftime.

BIKE PARRTTAYYY!!! I…read morewent to my first bike party this past Friday (SJBP is every 3rd Friday of the month) and it was an amazing experience! You wouldn't expect the amount of people that actually show up to this event! I was surprised by the turnout and even more amazed with everyone's bikes! People seriously take the time to pimp out their bikes and bring music to sound the night. All kinds of people of all ages come! The bike party takes a couple hours, roughly starts at 8 PM and doesn't end till about midnight or so. It's quite organized for such an informal event. There are people at corners (not all, but the important ones) that direct you where to turn and if you're hungry, there are food trucks at the rest spots. There is also ample time for you to rest up in between the ride, so you're not biking the full ~15+ miles in one go. It's a little dangerous sometimes when you're gaining speed going down a hill and then having to make a sudden break/turn or if you're not careful navigating between all the bikers. I saw two people eat it... and it did not look pleasant at all.... :c If you're concerned about safety, you could always wear a helmet, but most don't. It's at your own risk. Also, make sure you dress appropriately cause it can get chilly at night. It's a great experience for bikers, but I can see how residents and drivers can be annoyed with this. Sorry for the rowdiness! I'll be sure to try to be courteous to those driving and share the road. c: AND AND... speaking from experience, I would not recommend biking on a fixie for such a long bike ride... x___x Unless you're trying to pedal for days and build them thunder thighs / calves / legs... I would bring a bike that you can actually coast on.
