I want to start this review with a disclaimer that I have no knowledge on cigars. I walked here in the rain eager to purchase a cigar for myself and a male acquaintance. Location: The club is located within Dantanna's restaurant and exudes a speakeasy vibe upon entry. Service: The website claims "you will always be treated to outstanding service and advice to ensure you get the perfect cigar for your tastes." BUYERS BEWARE: The tobacconists at Buckhead Cigar Club could learn a thing or 2 about friendly customer service. There is a gentleman at the front desk who is dressed in a 3 piece dapperly suit almost like a deleted scene from the Butler. His attire gave a great 1st visual impression and I was excited to ask about buying 2 cigars as mentioned above. It is unclear if he was not interested in helping a novice cigar smoker but I could tell he would rather be elsewhere. This man was very abrupt in answering my questions and overall unfriendly. He even refused to engage in suggestions about a cigar for my friend. His attitude and demeanor immediately made the environment unwelcoming and within 2 minutes of being there, I no longer wished to spend any of my money on cigars at this establishment. My vibe was ruined and I will not be returning. I beg you waste no time here and go elsewhere! read more

I'm an old cigar guy. I opened the first cigar shop on the southside of the city in the mid-90's, but ultimately got out of the business. If I could pick only one cigar shop in the city to enjoy, it would be the Buckhead Cigar Club. Roland is this city's Cigar Pope. If anyone goes into this shop and calls the staff rude, it was no doubt due to the person making the accusation. Every person in that shop has been around cigars for longer than most people have been smoking. They are all about the cigar shop vibe, they are NOT rude. I know this from years of experience. And there are people who say the cigars are over priced. That's not true either. Newer cigars will be at what the market will bear, and they will be inline with other shops in the city. The sticks that have been out for a while will be lower priced. These people looking for cheap need to remember, or learn, cigars are heavily taxed, and someone has to pay the taxes. Get over yourself. If you say the selection is just okay, then you know nothing about cigars. The selection at this shop is curated to a very high degree. If you're a cigar nerd, the selection is exceptional. If you're clueless, then you'd say that the selection was just okay. For the entitled people who think that they should be allowed to bring in their own cigars, get over yourself. You're not entitled to bring your own, and smoke in a business that pays its bills by selling cigars. I do not know of a shop in the city that would let you do that. This shop is THE shop in Atlanta if you want that old school, everyone is welcome cigar shop vibe. The people working the shop have been in the business longer than the snivelers who've given neg rep on this page. I have no affiliation with this shop other than having been a cigar smoker since 1987, a former shop owner, and someone who simply enjoys the everyone's welcome cigar shop vibe. And I've known the staff from simply seeing them at cigar shops and events in the city since the mid-90's. I've seen a LOT of people in the mid-20 to mid-30 demographic come in with a sense of entitlement and a bit rude; and then watch the person working the shop not allow that person to be the entitled twit they were feeling they could be. The ensuing meltdown is always comical. Don't go into this shop thinking you can be rude and get away with it. If you go into this shop and have a bad experience, YOU'RE the problem. read more

Been here on a couple occasions and absolutely love this spot. LOTS OF DAVIDOFF CIGARS AND CIGARILLOS. You want hand rolled? You got it. Machine rolled? Sure. I am sure the new brand name Davidoff store in the Buckhead Atlanta plaza will give them some competition, but nonetheless this is a good spot. INSIDE DANTANNA'S, TO THE LEFT. Yes, go all the way to the back leftward. Not the easiest to find, so don't go wondering inside the mall to find this spot. And amazingly, they were open until 11pm on a Saturday! Now that's a schedule every cigar shop should have. NICE STAFF. Now, I don't like to add stereotypes to my reviews normally, but sometimes serious cigar connoisseurs are perceived as snobby. Met some friends at a local spot since I was in town from LA. LOVE the guy that mans the door - Santa Clause! He is so dope! BC is quaint but has adequate space for groups of ppl. There are tv's for each space and the drinks are strong. Great selection of cigars and they're not stingy with the matches. I'm so happy that I didn't leave smelling like a distillery - that's so huge for me Bc sometimes I wanna stop somewhere and have a smoke then go to the next spot. I can't do that if I smell weird, ya know? I will say, the cigars could stand to be a dollar or two cheaper. If I don't pay $16 for a Melanio in Los Angeles then it shouldn't be the case in ATL. Why the influx, guys? In addition, the $15 cover if you don't smoke is a drag if you're intimidated and haven't made the cigar jump yet. I think $10 is more reasonable... Think about it will ya?:) Anywhoo, Id come here again and maybe try the food next. read more

Not bad at all! A very well-stocked humidor--especially if you like Romeo Y Julietta and Padron cigars. This place can be hard to find, but just walk or enter along the side entrance (facing Lenox Mall) of the Westin Buckhead. A bit of a tight space, but full drink and menu service in this secluded corner of Dantana's. Kind of quirky staff, but they seem to recognize the regulars and treat everyone with respect and ample consideration. read more

I lived across the street from this place for two years, but I would still drive 20 minutes to another cigar store. Why? 1. The prices are poor. You're paying 30% more than most shops in the Atlanta area. 2. The selection is decent, but not great 3. I've found the staff to be either flat out rude, or non engaging. Don't come here expecting friendly help. Most cigar stores have really friendly people that are passionate about cigars. The cigar store on lower roswell has great people, the cigar store on sandy plains has great people. The Blue Havana has amazing people. This place? Rude people. Fix your prices, fix your attitude, and you'll have a ton of business. The location CAN"T be beat. They are in the back of a great restaurant and the vibe SHOULD be pretty cool. read more

Had high expectations coming off a trip to the NYC Cigar clubs! It met and exceeded the standard as it relates to the humidor, cigar selection and the person running it definitely knew what he was doing! The space is awkward, small odd shaped, not much you could do with it, we had a party of 6 and no place to sit. A single gentlemen was kind enough to let us sit at a huge booth with him and we ended up chatting have a great time. read more

Though Dantanna's has been one of my Buckhead go-to spots for at least two years now, I am much newer to Buckhead Cigar and, honestly, to cigars in general. I have not been here but a handful or so of times, but I am very impressed with the ventilation, atmosphere and selection here and really like having the choice of ordering from Dantanna's food and beverage menus. There are televisions present in the lounge, but I cannot say that they are the reason for my visit and most of the time it is pretty chill and comfortable; only once has it been slightly heavy with guests who I might have been more inclined to expect to see at the bar area of the adjacent dining room. Connected to the lounge (which is cozily appointed with squashy couches, wooden chairs and heavy tables) is a sizable walk-in humidor with high shelving around the perimeter and a row of shelving along the middle of the space as well. From unique Davidoffs to large Churchills to shorter-smoking Nubs to (my new favorite) Rocky Patel Vintage 1999 Robusto... these guys have A LOT! And these guys also know more about cigars than anyone else who I know. Luckily, every time I have come here it has been with others who were very knowledgeable about the topic at hand themselves; I would probably be too bashful to ask of my own. I don't make it here often, but I have quite a good time every time that I do. If you are already a cigar aficionado or are just getting into them, this is the place to go! I think the 3.5 ratings is very accurate. It is apart of a restaurant which makes it great. The smoking area is laid bacc its basically a place to conduct business or catch up with some old friends. Its to me a sophisticated place to hang out instead of starbuccs. You may not run into famous people but you will run into some successful people if you go on the right days. read more

When i walked in he was extremely rude in the manner that he spoke to me. After I brought it to his attention he still maintained his disrespectful posture. Really enjoyed a great cigar at Buckhead Cigar Club last night and highly recommend them for any cigar smoker. Attached to a lovely higher end steak restaurant BCC is a cozy space replete with big screen tv's deep leather couches and thorough cigar room. The owner was a wonderful guy who is super friendly and made a perfect suggestion to smoke. I was in town for business and hosted 8 others at BCC for cigar night. Everyone agreed that this was the perfect option. It seemed to me that the prices were a bit high but then again I dont live in Georgia and have no point of reference for what tobacco products cost here. Horrible customer service and Mike the owner does not appreciate customers. He is money hungry and seems to be scrounging for every dime like he is broke. I was a regular but I refuse to give my money to a business that does not appreciate people and do not feel the need to have good customer service. Mike is the owner and very rude and only appreciate customers that buy boxes of cigars and do not appreciate the regular customers that in essence buy boxes of cigars every month if they come everyday. He is a stupid old man that needs to retire. I will never go again. Roland however is a great guy and I have that he has to work for Mike. He is way better than that. For a better time I would suggest Cigar City Club on Roswell or Davidoff on Peachtree. Don't waste your time patronizing a business that do not want you there. read more

Dantanna's is a nice place to eat and watch sports, however not to smoke cigars.!!! The managers in the cigar area boasts of their selection which is nice but pricy..They also charge you $10.00 if you bring an outside cigar, or along with someone and you are not smoking.. Let me share my encounter....Last week a friend and I visited Dantanna's in Buckhead. We had some time to kill awaiting another friend. i suggested we grab a smoke . I was told by the long haired person at the counter that there is a ten dollar charge for an outside cigar,,, I informed him that I purchased this cigar in this store last week. He asked to see a receipt or wrapper..And I showed him. Next , the 3 piece suit gentleman addressed me wearing my hat, ( which was a nice straw hat with a red feather,, It went nicely with my suit and tie) :)...I was sitting in the rear sofa and he stood in the middle of the room and shouted "take off your hat" My friend then stated that the gentleman was rude.. He responded by saying I asked him nicely.. I was also offended. I could not enjoy my opus X!! We walked out and complained to the management and learned that the cigar shop is rented .. I was also surprised when the long haired gentleman then walked over and told my friend that he has to pay ten dollars since he was not smoking... This combination of actions makes me a "NEVER TO RETURN" patron.. There were not any signs posted to inform you of a dress code.. or a charge for NOT smoking, which in my opinion is absurd... Other friends have also shared their encounters of the "RUDE" guy there in the suit... I would recommend any option other than this cigar shop!!!!!! read more

Hands down one of my favorite cigar lounges! Always helpful and a huge selection of premium cigars! The "no hat" rule and "no basketball" rules annoy some folks but I find that it keeps things very classy in the lounge. Comfy sofas and flat screens on the wall make it a perfect place to meet almost anyone. Make sure you ask for the cappuccino - honestly one of the best in town!!! read more

Two times I visited the shop I had to deal with Mr. Huge Tie, and both times when I would ask questions, he would snicker before answering and then proceed to give some long winded, patronizing sort of response that was difficult to follow. When I would ask a follow up, same deal. I was obviously wasting his time and he let me feel it. I ended up not buying some sticks because I couldn't get a simple answer, nor was I impressed with how great he thinks he is. read more

I am in Atlanta once a month, and my first stop after landing is Buckhead Cigar. Not only can you get a great meal, glass of wine or scotch in Dantanna's, but you can stroll into buckhead cigar and have a great smoke too. One of the few Davidoff retailers around, they have a great selection of cigars that are kept in near perfect condition. The owner is affable and good natured, and Dantanna's will serve you while you sit in the cigar lounge. They have a few couches and two or three private booths, so i have seen seating fill up, but have never been out of a seat myself. Good place to meet other people since the seating is cozy. I will definitely be back. Not the best prices in town, but combining the total experience, it is the best value in town. read more

I am a big fan of cigars and the brotherhood/sisterhood of the leaf. I've been here in Atlanta for just under 3 years. I've been a regular at Buckhead Cigars for all that time, and my first visit was several years before I moved here permanently. If you are looking for a very good selection of premium and super premium cigars, this is your stop in Atlanta. The metro area has a lot of good cigar shops for which I have plenty of good reports, but Buckhead Cigars has kept a consistent, distant lead as my favorite. On cigars, the guys usually have a plentiful sale table of good to great sticks. Remarkably, this sales table is usually filled with great boutique and BIG name cigars; they are just turning inventory for new facings and batches. Walk away from the sales table and into the broader humidor, you're met with limited release, expertly blended $50+ cigars to the $10 well-aged "I wanna relax, smoke something good, but not here to celebrate a big life event" tried&true stoggies. On the food/drinks, this is one of the spots, on the ever-dwindling list, you can get food, libations, and cigars in one place. Of course, there is food/drink service in the cigar shop, but this is a semi-private club that is independently owned (i.e., not owned by Dantanna's Restaurant). As a consequence, expect to buy a cigar per each member of your party. Another benefit is that the restaurant stays open as late as you would expect a restaurant/bar to. If the club closes at 9, 10, or 11 pm, the restaurant has a full service, smoking patio that stays open late--complete with multiple flat-screens and streaming sports. Last thing I'll say... If you're a professional either visiting or living in Buckhead, this is a great place for networking--especially during the week. Being in the center of Buckhead, you'll run into everyone from young Turks to senior executives here on the right night. read more
