A beautiful spring day, in mid February, we stopped in for a tasting. A great job by Jim, who explained that all the wines were from Crossing Vineyards, a reputable Bucks County vineyard. We have been to their main location many times and also for events like weddings. The tasting here was much better than the main location. Many pours and a lot of history from Jim. We bought a couple of bottles. We would definitely return when in New Hope. One suggestion is to have a tasting table set up outside. On such a great day many more walkers would be stopping in. Nice wine shop on Main Street in New Hope. We stopped in to taste some local Bucks County wines and did the Girl Scout Cookie wine pairing tasting - 8 cookies with 8 wines. Cookies courtesy of the owner's daughter. It was a fun, low-key experience. Loved the creativity of pairing wines with cookies. Probably would've liked a more generous pour on the wines, but to be fair, he did let us taste a few other off-menu wines after so all's well, that ends well. They have a good selection of wines and we ended up buying a reasonably priced bottle of savignon blanc and a packet of their mulled wine spice to take home with us. Service was great. Enjoyed the banter of the guy running the place and he made the wine tasting experience even better. Didn't love all the wines, hence the rating, but everything else was great. We bought three different wines which were included in the tasting so it was worth it. The Apple wine, sangria, and chocolate cherry were our favorites. read more

Came here on a whim because I was in the mood for some wine after walking all of Main Street and noticed their sign. This place has a good selection of wines (try the chocolate cherry truffle, delicious) and accessories. It's location is great for people watching. What I did not care for was my reception into the store and how I was treated compared to other guest who came in after me. When I entered the store I thought it was a wine bar, it's more of a store but they offer tastings and pour individual glasses. The store was empty when I entered and I had to ask questions in order to figure out they sell wine by the glass. I did not get a warm welcoming or a run down of what they offer so it was a little confusing at first. Ultimately I ordered a glass of sangria and sat outside to people watch. Once outside business picked up and it got packed. I came back in for a second round and that's when I noticed the wine tasting and asked about it. I ordered a tasting which is $12 for 12-14 different types of wine. As the male employee poured my wine he gave me an auctioneers type run down of the wines. As he serviced other groups I noticed that he took his time and even asked them their usual preference. He also gave the other groups (about 3 total) chocolate with 2 of the wine tasting selections; the merlot and one other, both of which I had minus the chocolate which I was not offered. And lastly he poured one of the tasting (the white Sangria) from a wine purse which he first poured into my glass, sans fan fair, then proceeded to the group next to me and poured theirs along with a complete, lavish description/demonstration of the purse which can hold up to 3 bottles of wine. I received no such description or demonstration of the purse; which I actually wanted to purchase when I saw it on the shelf. I have only encountered outright prejudice a handful of times throughout my life. This was one of them. I was the only Hispanic in the store the entire time I was there. I don't know what the gentleman at the store was thinking but the way he treated me was not ok. I will not be back and will take my business elsewhere. For a town that is all about acceptance he is the minority here, not I. read more

I am not a wine connoisseur by any stretch of the imagination. I can however speak on less than favorable business practices. We purchased wine at this establishment and inadvertently left our credit card behind. That afternoon we contacted the owner and he assured us he would mail the card the following day. Three weeks later and the card still hasn't been returned. I have made numerous phone calls and left multiple voicemails with no response. This speaks to the lack customer service and overall attitude towards their customers. Highly disappointed and would rate them the Boone's Farm of wine sellers. read more

My boyfriend and I did a tasting here. I did not realize they charge for a wine tasting($12 per person) I have done 5 or so wine tastings and never been charged. They did allow us to taste 12 wines which is more than other places I have been to. We had a fine experience chatting with the store owners. My boyfriend and I ended up buying 3 bottle of wine and I asked if we could have our tasting fee waved because we each bought things. The female owner told me we could be waived one tasting fee if we bought 6 bottles. This was a big turn off because I had never been charged a tasting fee, even if I didn't buy anything. Overall an alright tasting experience but I will not be back because they charged me half a bottle of wine to find something I liked. We also could not request to sample a certain type of wine, only what they already had open. read more

In Philly visiting family and all goosed up to check out the local wine scene, so when we spotted this little place on a day trip to New Hope, we made our move and bellied up to the bar. There's a lot I liked about this place, so I actually feel a little bad about the three stars, but there were precisely two sins I couldn't overlook. Here's the spiel: First off, the service was great. The one guy running the tasting bar was terrific. He was friendly, funny and went out of his way to open up as many bottles as he could for us so we'd get a good idea of both their grape and fruit wines. He clearly believed in what he was selling and was really committed to showing us a good time. Absolutely no complaints on that front. Now that we're focusing on the positive, I also have to say they make some top notch fruit wines. I know, I get it, fruit wines aren't "real" wine, and I'm sure there's a Dothraki horde of wine purists trying to home in on my ISP number so they can swoop down and mete out rough justice for my even mentioning "blueberry" and "winery" in the same sentence. Look, Oregon (the land of snooty, over-priced Pinots and Chardonnay foot-stomped by woodland fairies) makes great fruit wines and no one thinks that reflects poorly on the local grape, so let's move on. Anyway, back to fruit wines. They were great. We tried an apple wine that was crisp, close to dry and made from at least three different varieties. The fella at the bar claimed that if you gave it a day's worth of air it would take on a deeper, more cider-like character, and I'm inclined to believe him. The berry wine was also a good effort, tasting (unsurprisingly since it's the main ingredient) a lot like blueberries and had a nice, long finish. They were out of peach wine (I cried a little), but they also make a "sangria" based on fruit macerated in grape wine which was really enjoyable and, unlike the "sangria" at another winery we tasted, NOT based on Concord grapes (gak, just spray Manischewitz in my mouth why don't you). Don't panic, but they also made a chocolate-cherry "wine" (OK, even I recognize the relationship to vino is getting thin at this stage) that delivers on the chocolate-cherry flavor while still managing not to be cloying. Now the downers: There's a lot of room for improvement in the grape wines. Of the pretty broad selection we tasted only the Chardonnay and Cab Franc held up as solidly drinkable. Most of the other wines were thin and tart. They were pouring a Pinot Noir, which I was excited to try, but then I learned that it had only been in bottle a couple of weeks. Needless to say, my excitement dissipated. And, frankly, the Viognier just tasted downright strange. What bummed me out the most was their policy on tasting fees, though. We purchased 3 tastings at $10 bucks a pop. No complaints there since we got a hefty number of pours for the price. Here's the rub: I wasn't the only one who loved the fruit wines; my relatives grooved on them pretty heavily as well, and since my partner and I didn't have any room in our luggage to schlep some home, we decided to make a gift of a half-case of them to the fam. Despite buying six bottles of 15-20 dollar wine, we were only comped one ten dollar tasting fee. Ouch. Compare that to the (near universal) West Coast policy of comping a tasting fee for each bottle purchased. As near as I can figure, this may be a Pennsylvania (or East Coast) thing; we didn't get comped for purchases we made at a winery closer to Philly, either. Fair enough, I suppose, but it still left an unpleasant taste in my mouth even the apple wine couldn't wash out. Bottom Line: Definitely hit this place up when you're in New Hope. The fruit wines won't disappoint, and I'm hopeful the rest of the grape wines will go the way of the Chard and Cab Franc. Here's to hoping, though, that the owners rethink their policy on tasting fees. read more

The wife and I stopped in for a wine tasting while on our getaway and our host was just awesome with a great personality and very knowledgable, he made it a great experience and lots of fun. We (of course) purchased several bottles of our favorites to enjoy after our return home. Highly recommend the wine tasting or a ice cold wine slushie on a hot day. read more
