If you need gear for the cold and are only a casual hiker: this is the place to go. You pay the big bucks for cold weather gear that is light and breathable (if you need this, go to AMH), but if you just need cold gear for short hikes, or walking around town, or working outside: this is the place. I was impressed by how cheap their gloves are. I might start buying my ice climbing gloves here, instead of REI/AMH. If you're an Extratufsexual, you'll have a lot to chose from here.

Jackets/coats galore - and in all sizes. Eddie B. also had a ton of sales going on, up to 70%! Workers were welcoming and efficient. We had to argue for over 20 minutes to agree to put the refund on the debit card. Will think twice before coming back...

Their workers welcomed us, gave us space, and were there for us once we needed them. Vans sells quality clothing, shoe wear, and accessories. Also skateboards. The did a great job explaining the brand and how much the brand stands behind their products. They'll repair them imperfectly for free, or repair them perfectly for a fee. Almost as good as the gold-standard Patagonia warranty! They also explained that this the the only Canada Goose store in US! Finally Anchorage is #1 in something that's not embarrassing! The negatives: If you're one of those folks that says the phrase "Patagucci"...you are about to be humbled. And by humbled, I mean pancaked by a drunk dump truck driver! The prices here are out-of-this-world. Want a beanie? Well, in Canada they call 'em toques. But a toque will run you a smooth $125 here. Just about every jacket is around $900. Many are extremely similar to Patagonia jackets that could be had for $250.

It helps that the owner and employees are class acts- knowledgeable and never snotty. Ex: I ordered about 5 dresses from Revolve.com for Christmas parties this season, and none of them worked. I walked into Circular and within a few minutes had 3 excellent options, all of which were less expensive than the dresses I had ordered online. I'm so grateful Anchorage has this wonderful shop.
