Alright, so I just got off work--place is literally two blocks away--so I had to stop in. Grabbed a pepperoni and a Margherita. One bite, everybody knows the rules. First impression: great undercarriage. Nice crisp, holds the slice up, no flop. That's what you want. Sauce is solid--not too sweet, not too bitter, just right. And they're not stingy with it either. Had a great experience at Bucks Coal Fired Pizza. I've been wanting to try this place for a while. The owner was present (always a good sign!) and very welcoming -- he rang us up, grabbed cups for us, and checked-in during our visit, which made the experience feel personal and genuine. You can tell he cares significantly about his business and his guests. The coal-fired oven is awesome and you can really taste the difference in the pizza. The crust was exactly how I like it -- super thin, very light, perfectly crispy, with just the right amount of char. Absolutely delicious. It's also easy to find and in a great location, right on the same road as Costco, Hobby Lobby, Chick-fil-A, etc., which makes it super convenient if you're already in the area...or headed to/from the airport! I saw their instagram videos and their one bite reviews so I had to visit. I went on a Sunday around 1pm. They were pretty busy with barstools seating mostly full. There were two employees on staff one preparing the food and one expediting and cashiering. They were both very nice and friendly. There is a little kids toy area and a bench for sitting on while waiting. I ordered a meat lovers pizza for $28 and a brownie. Definitely on the high side of pricing my total was about $40. I was told that it would be about 15 minutes and it was. The store is a basic pizza shop with the bar seating mentioned. There is art for sale on the walls. The crowd was mostly families. The pizza was very good. Not a 9.0 as rated in one bite but a solid 7.6 I was surprised by how light the pizza felt in the box. It doesn't have that New Haven crunch but it is super thin, charred, and the crust has a good texture. It flopped slightly straight but not when folded. First bite was good the flavor is very good. As it cooled it got pretty oily somewhat from the toppings but more so in the sauce. I noticed that they put oil on the dough after they form the dough into a crust I'm guessing this is the culprit. Pizza wise, I would return, but not at these prices. In Palm beach county this is very good but not as good as Frank Pepe's in Delray. read more

We have been wanting to try Buck's Coal Fired Pizza for a little while now, and today it worked out! It was great to have time to walk in, talk about the menu and make our decisions from our conversation! Then getting to watch the process and continue to chat with the owner was very enjoyable! We had to get the pickle pizza we had seen on Instagram, that originally caught our eye and we also got the buffalo chicken pizza! We added bacon to our pickle pizza, which the chef/owner accidentally forgot, so while he made the pizza again for us (which he insisted), we ate the first baconless pickle pizza fresh out of the oven. Which I must say, if you can, eat the pizza fresh in house, that little extra crisp from the fresh hot pizza really hits! The pizza was awesome, perfect amount of each ingredient! So after trying both with and without bacon, next time I will order it as it is on the menu, it's good both ways, it just doesn't need altering! So for the buffalo chicken pizza, which I honestly did not want, but my husband did, was really good. Again, topping ratio was on point, and I have to say, that chicken is delish! So, next time we will surely try their wings, and try a few more pizzas, definitely one with the hot honey drizzle. My husband was craving pizza and this was highly recommended by locals while we were visiting West Palm Beach. We are from California where pizza shops are on every corner.
