We are very experienced pizza , especially deep dish pizza connoisseurs. Actually Italian food in general. As a Chef I know quality and consistancy along with method as well. My comments will resinate with some of you who have deep dish roots. If you know, you know. I'll be brief. * A $50 pizza should be worth it * Super Boring sauce, not enough on the pie * The dish wasn't deep for the inside area, maybe 3/4 of an inch (BOO) * Cheese was not thick and stretchy AT ALL, could barely see it in there * The toppings were so slight and sparce it was pretty much a big joke * The flavor was so disappointingly bland * The Riccotta we paid nearly $5 extra for... had no flavor either, ugh. Hallelujah! At least the crust was good... and that's it. If you know really good Deep Dish Pizza... Don't fall for the hype. I can't review the other menu items as paying $50 bucks for a wonky enemic Wish-it-was-deep pizza inhibits any chance of us trusting other menu items. If you can't live up to the hype of your main item draw, you failed. We felt a little ripped off TBH. It was a Deep DULL Overpriced Pizza. No value for the high price. They close early (right around when I want a pizza) and twice have shown up with a hankering for their thin crust (not the longer wait deep dish) only to be turned away at around 7:50 pm. Normally, I don't check out pizza joints because most of them are indiscernible. But this spot serves Chicago deep dish, which I don't find often in South Florida outside of maybe an UNO chain. I decided to give this place the old college try. Overall, it's pretty solid. I did an individual make your own that had pepperoni, bacon, sausage, and garlic. I found that the flavors of the toppings got drowned out mostly by the tomato sauce. However, the crust was perfectly cooked, buttery, and delicious. If you want a deep dish, you want a buttery crust. On that front, it succeeded well. The location was very clean and spacious. I sat at the bar during lunch hour and felt the vibes were chill. The guy who served me followed by the girl at the bar were prompt. And the kitchen was on point. We've ordered pizza from The Underground Pizza before. It was good but, as most of us know, pizza is always best fresh and hot from the oven - wow! Simply outstanding. The deep dish Old School was the best: plenty of pepperoni, sausage, bell peppers, black olives and pepperoncini and the sauce was rich and flavorful. Best of all, the crust was perfect. Our thin crust plain cheese pizza was also quite good; perfect crust and good balance of cheese and sauce. We had a Spring Mix salad that was well dressed, full of ingredients and quite large. There is a nice beverage list as well. Service was pleasant, if a bit lackadaisical- but there was only one server for the whole restaurant. The dining room is attractive and clean. We went for a late lunch today. We had high hopes and had wanted to try this place for awhile At first, we were the only table customers - there were several take out orders. The server provided us with a lengthy list of all the items they were out of - this was off putting as in it is a weekend and you are out of all that?!? We first tried to order a lunch special individual pan pizza. We were told they were out of the individual pan pizza crust and they only had one thin crust left for the individual pizza. OK....so now we know this is a pizza place who is not able to make their own crust. A very bad sign in our opinion. We probably should have left but we continued on. We ordered a half order of wings and a small east side deep dish pizza. It took a bit for the wings to come out -- they were ok. Served with the smallest pieces of celery -- along the lines of celery cubes. We were almost done with the wings and the pizza arrived. It was marginal. We were already disappointed that they crust was not made in house. We really could not find the toppings. The cheese was minimal while the pizza was over sauced. We were presented out bill, and we were charged for a full order of wings. This was revised upon request. We are giving this a two-star rating because the restaurant and bathrooms are very clean otherwise a disappointing experience. read more

Absolutely terrible, the thin crust pizza tasted like Chucke e cheese pizza. Deep dish took over an hour to come out and was inedible.

This last minute lunch choice turned out be a not so pleasing choice. The restaurant only had one other couple eating when I entered. I was told to take any seat and I did so. The restaurant has a large bar area with seating and an out 10-15 tables. The only server working must have been new because she wasn't very good. I waited an exceptionally long time for a soda and once my pizza was served I waited a fairly long time for her to bring the cheese and red pepper flakes. I'll start with the food. I ordered the personal pizza with fresh mozzarella. The dough was not thin as I was told it would be, nor was the dough fresh made in house. The pizza was very reminiscent of a store bought frozen pizza. The sauce was flavorless and the the cheese, did not taste nor have the texture of any fresh mozzarella I've ever eaten before. All the extra parm, garlic and red pepper I added did absolutely nothing to make this pizza taste better. When I go to pay the server asks me if I had the Michelob ultra, which I did not. I had only the pizza and a Diet Coke. She says OK and then proceeds to hand me a receipt with a pizza a Diet Coke and a Michelob ultra on the bill after she has already run my credit card. So I pointed this out to her and she says OK I'm gonna correct it. I'm not super trustworthy when it comes to people playing with my credit cards so I checked with the bank and of course the wrong amount is on my credit card statement. So now in addition to having a lousy lunch, I'm going to have to file a complaint and request my credit card company to remove that charge in it's entirety. read more

My husband and I came here because we were looking for a good pizzeria! IT DID NOT DISSAPOINT! We opted for the Old School Large, thin crust pizza! It was delicious! The service was excellent and the owners came over to make sure we were enjoying our food! The music for the evening as an acoustic guitarist who was so good, which definitely was the topping on the cake of an already wonderful atmosphere! We will definitely be back! I really wanted to love this place because when I first walked in the vibe was really relaxing, we came in on a Friday evening which I will add was not busy our server was insanely sweet but slow and inattentive. We ordered the meatballs which took 20 minutes before they arrived and sadly they were very cold. It was really disappointing after the wait for them. Then we ordered a thin cheese crust pizza which the cheese was just nonstop falling off of the pizza it was pretty disappointing. My fiancé and I ordered a deep dish pizza. My fiancé is from Chicago so he was curious to see how the pizza compares to the deep dish pizza he had in Chicago. We both thought it was very good. Now for the foooood....we started with the baby gem Caesar salad which had so much flavor and (I've never complimented lettuce before) the lettuce was weirdly crisp and yummy. Definitely recommend. We then ordered the large East Side Deep Dish (meatballs, roasted garlic, mushrooms, onions, basil) and added ricotta. For my northern people...this reminded me of a fresh tomato pie from Philly area which is sooo hard to find down here. By that I mean it had that chunky fresh tomato, garlic, basil mixture on top of the cheese/meatballs/etc. which was to die for!!! This pizza was 100/10! So, now that I have had a chance to try a few things on the menu and thought I would share, remember it's just my opinion. First of all the food is absolutely delicious, no matter what you order in the way of food. Pizza, appetizers, salads so far those are the things I have tasted so far, The deep dish I can't seem to get enough of hot or cold out of the fridge just doesn't matter! The beet salad is so good but it probably helps if you like beets just a little bit. The other thing I have a big problem with is how clean a restaurant is! As I walked through the restaurant it looked very clean and checked the bathroom as well and I have NO problems at all with the cleanliness of this lovely restaurant!
