What a wonderful surprise hidden behind my hotel in DuBois. Service shout out to my friendly waitress and bartender Jodie. I have nothing bad really to report. The Cesar dressing is a bit different than I am used to but that is probably because I am a southerner and it is a bit different from what I am used to. But the tomato Alfredo sauce is to die for. I tried a chicken salad once, it was overpriced and not very impressive. Bucks is a great place for lunch or supper. Their pizza and wings is always a favorite of the family when they come town. We always greeted pleasantly when we arrive, the facilities are very comfortable clean and well maintained. The server staff are prompt courteous and accurate in their service. We have enjoyed anything we have ordered off of the menu. Recently they started offering as a dessert choice desserts from queen of tarts from Dubois. They are delicious! Asked to watch an NFL game and was reprimanded because the manager is "passionate" about the military. I'm not taking a stance on players kneeling during the national anthem, I just wanted to watch football. I should've left right there, but we will never be returning. The rest of the visit was very uncomfortable as the manager even skipped over our table while asking other tables how their food was. Buck*s was a favorite place for my daughter and me until yesterday. We arrived at 3:58 p.m. and we're seated immediately. We sat there for over 20 minutes without anyone offering to serve us. I did observe a waitress coming back and forth to serve the 2 booths in front of us and ultimately cleaning those stations. At 4:24 p.m. we were back in the truck and on our way to the Italian Oven. An Example of a Business that Needs a Reality Check. One Friday evening, my children and I decided to goto Buck's Pizza. We entered the restuarant and was promplty greeted and told that there was a wait, so we gave our name and number of guests, and we patiently waited (stood in the doorway) for a table. We wren't the only patrons in line, nor were we the only ones with children. 20 minutes or so passed, and the waiting area (really non-existant) got fuller and more packed... but it gave us time to look over the menu and know what were we going to order. Then it happened, a man came up to the door, opened it, saw the line... and then turned around heading beck thru the parking lot. Quickly after, what appeared as an owner in a shirt and tie, followed the man into the parking lot and then after a few minutes, lead the man into the restuarant and instantly to a table. The shirt and tie guy, then told the hostess to write down "Dr... so-and-so" in the book. The line of those waiting were like, "huh?', "Really?" I guess I wouldn't have cared if the man walked up to the Shirt and Tie guy and then was taken to a table... but it was the mere fact that this establishment chased one person into the lot to save what one would assume a doctors business. Having connections is one thing, and I believe most comsumers / patrons understand this as a given. However, when children under 10 witness the actions... and say, "let's leave" then I guess you do what's right. You leave, and you tell everyone about the experience. Family Friendly, Buck's is not. read more

This has become our go-to place in DuBois for pizza and Italian style food. Very friendly and efficient servers and staff. Nice and clean place. We love the exceptional marble tables! Non pizza dishes are adequate for this type of restaurant and the pizzas, breadsticks and toppings are very, very good. My recommendation is to choose their great gelato as desert as the other deserts are overly sweet and way too filling. The tiramisu gelato is my super favorite. read more

They have a great beer and wine selection. Surely you will find something you like from the selection they offer. The pizza and wings are what keep us coming pack. Well, our dinner at Buck's was not a good one. The wait to be seated was about 20 minutes...not bad for a Saturday early evening. The waiter took our drink orders and our appetizer order. We got our drinks in good time, but waited 25 minutes for the appetizer. Then we waited for another 30 minutes for our food. I know they were busy, and the manager told us he was training our waiter, but doesn't every customer deserve the best customer service? When our food finally came, there was hair in a salad and in a pasta dish, the ravioli was cold and the breading on the fried fish was hard as if it had been fried and then reheated. The breadsticks and one of the pizzas we got were good. The manager did cut our bill in half, which was a goodwill gesture on his part, but we will never go back to this restaurant. We will laugh about this fiasco in the future, but our family time together was ruined. read more

Today was our first time eating here. We sure were missing a lot! I ordered the Chicken Alfredo and my husband ordered a small Stromboli. The portions were massive! I don't usually order chicken because it tends to be tough, but this was probably the best dish of pasta I've had in the USA! I had to bring home half my meal because it was so large. My husband is a big man and he said his portion was perfect, not too large and not too small. He doesn't eat onions and there was no problem having the onions changed to ham.
