But…read morebeing that it was 20 years old and very stuck, I spent my whole day off wrestling with it just to have to break off. By then It was 4:00 on a Friday and I started to panic. My wife would be home soon from work and I couldn't turn the water back on until it was fixed. I started calling plumbers just in case. Most weren't answering phones, were out of service, or couldn't get to me until Monday. I tried True Plumbers first and was put on hold. I waited a couple of minutes and no one picked up. So I hung up and called other plumbers. After not getting any good answers, I tried them again. They had one of their plumbers call me. Josh was working on a job in Lakeland, but said he could come out to me that evening. I talked to him about what was going on and what I was doing to fix it. He told me I was on the right track. He encouraged me to keep doing what I was doing (because it was exactly what he would have to do). And for him to do it, I'd have to pay the service fee + parts and labor. Not cheap that time of the day or week. Lucky for me, my wife got home and saw I was totally exhausted and frustrated. She took over trying to get the rest of the cartridge out. Josh told me to check back in with him in the meantime if we needed him. He was still planning on coming later if we couldn't do it. Probably a good hour later, my wife got the rest of it out. Let me tell you we shared a huge high five and there was much cheering in that shower! lol I called Josh back and let him know we did it and he didn't need to come over. But I was so grateful for his advice. Sometimes you just need someone to tell you you're doing it right. If we have any other plumbing issues, I'll call them again for a quote.

Had a new fridge put in and the guys who put in the new fridge said they couldn't touch the water line of the old fridge and that the valve from the wall needed to be replaced so that the water line from the new fridge could be connected, and to call plumbers for that. We called them and they arrived an hour earlier than their estimated time range. Long story short, the plumber guy said replacing the valve in the wall wasn't necessary and the hose from the valve could be connected to the new fridge. He said this to me like I was a moron, which I don't know much about plumbing, so I'm probably a moron when it comes to that stuff. But the way he said it and looked at me rubbed me the wrong way. He then puts a fitting thing on the fridge hose and connects it to the valve hose coming from the wall. It takes him maybe a minute to do this. He tells me it's gonna cost $340 or something close to that. I ask why so much for having done so little, he said he had to drive forty minutes and says it like it makes total sense and I'm the idiot for asking such a stupid question. I will never use their services again.
