What a wonderful experience! I had called 4 other salons and none of them did acrylic nails until I found these guys! Called on Tuesday to make an appointment for Friday at 6. I arrived 10 min early and they took me right away. An older gentleman did my nails. He was nice, had a lot of attention to detail, and efficient. He made sure each nail was the same length on both hands, cleaned every stray cuticle, and was friendly with me. I will also have to give credit for the nail tech behind me as she had an awful client who complained about everything and was very rude. She handled the customer with respect and a positive attitude, even though the woman was not giving her the same. I got the full set with gel polish and it was $50 and took about 50 minutes. Based on my experience, I wouldn't not recommend going here. After attempting to walk-in (unsuccessfully) at 3 different nail salons, I was able to get right in at Bucktown Nails Spa. It took 2 hours for them to complete my mani/pedi, and my technician had a lot of trouble getting the job done and remembering what step to complete next (asking others what they needed to do). I left with poorly painted nails and a big toe that is most definitely going to become either infected or ingrown. read more

Found my neighborhood nail salon. There are many nail places around bucktown but after trying most of the ones highly rated on Yelp, this place is my favorite. Coco was easy to chat with - I noticed she knows her customers by name and remembers details about them asking for updates. The guy that Coco calls Uncle gave the best foot massage I've ever received. Hot stones and hot towel too. I even fell asleep during it. No chip mani and pedicure were both perfect and they even sent me home the items that were used on me, so I know they don't reuse and they don't waste. If you find yourself in Bucktown you have many options for your next manicure or pedicure. I suggest you give Bucktown Nail Spa a try! I can't even express how clean and tidy this place is! They use all new tools on each customer! Yes, you heard that correctly; all new tools for each customer! They'll even offer you your emery board, buffer, and foot scrubber to take home with you in your own personal bag. After my first experience of this cleanliness I knew I would never go anywhere else again! Bucktown Nail Spa is owned and operated by Coco and she is lovely. She knows many of her clients by name and catches up with everyone when they stop in or call the spa. It's so nice to go to a nail salon where you can have a conversation with the employee and not feel like you are bothering them. I am personally a fan of their no-chip manicures and nail art. However, their pedicures are great too! Hot towel, hot stones, and a nice long leg and foot massage. Many places will massage you for 10 seconds -- not here! I've almost fallen asleep many times getting a pedicure here! The hardest part of the experience at Bucktown Nail Spa is picking out your nail polish color. Their nail polish color selection is outstanding -- so many options! She even has color changing no chip polish! So cool! Bucktown Nail Spa is the first nail salon that actually offered nail art on ALL of my nails. Many other salons only offer the ring finger as an accent nail and I've always been told it's too much to do from other nail spas. I've always been willing to pay extra money for extra jazzy nails but have been turned down multiple times. I'm not usually one who gets her nails done. Manicures I've gotten previously usually start chipping after the fourth day, and I like to think I'm almost as good at doing my nails as professionals (key word: think). However, since my birthday was coming up, I decided to follow in Donna and Tom Haverford's nicely pedicured footsteps and go on and treat myself! I made an appointment with CoCo to get a pedicure and it was probably one of the best pedicures I've ever gotten. Sure, it was the end of March and the first day that it was above 60 degrees, but it felt like summer so I went for a yellow pedi people! I'm sure everyone thought I was crazy because I was acting like it was a beach day with my nail color, but you better believe that it looked amazing! CoCo did such a great job on my pedicure - she really took her time to remove all of my dead skin, filed my nails down perfectly, and then polished them beautifully. My feet felt rejuvenated and relaxed! She gave me a foot/leg massage as well that was amazing. However, the best part of this salon is that brand new products/tools are used on each and every client. Yes, that's right. No double dipping here, and no guessing whether the tools were cleaned property before the last client. She even sends you home with the tools that she used on you in a little plastic bag so you can upkeep your pedicure even after it's done. She's also such a sweetheart and is really fun to talk to during your appointment. While I was getting my feet done, we watched Dancing with the Stars together and a ton of other shows - I felt like I was basically hanging out with my bestie. I even came in about a week later for a manicure and she remembered me and suggested nail colors that would match my toes (she remembered my yellow!). I can't wait till my next treat yo'self day so I can spend my afternoon watching reality TV with CoCo while getting my nails expertly done. Fabulous! I called Bucktown Nails for an appointment for me and two friends in preparation for a wedding. I wanted a small, nicely-priced place salon that was BYOB: Bucktown met those criteria. Our experience was great. Since this place is so small, we were the only three customers all afternoon since there were only two people doing nails. We did mani/pedis and they were totally OK with us monopolozing their time all day. Two of the manis were no-chip and mine was a full-set and, again, they were totally cool with our requests. Nothing took super long, the owner and his family are incredibly friendly and we were able to have our mimosas. I had an awesome gel full-set that I'd come back and get again if I am ever in the market. The nails looked flawless and I didn't even notice my nails growing out until almost 10 days later. Coming from Arizona I'm a little bit of a spa brat--full service spas on every corner and lots of competition since there are so many retirees looking for lots of pampering. When we moved to Chicago, I thought it'd be easy to find a great nail place but boy was I wrong. It took me six years to finally find Bucktown Nails and I am so glad I kept up my search because they are the best. The massage that comes with the standard pedicure is out of this world. They actually spend time massaging your feet and calves (which I feel most places in the neighborhood barely even do for a minute). Every time I'm there I am always surprised when they bring out the hot stones (included with the regular pedicure) and start rubbing my calves with them--heaven! My toes always look great for about a month or more. Coco spends extra time checking to make sure everything is perfect and I've even had her come buff my feet a little longer if she doesn't think they are soft enough. When you're finished they give you the nail file and buffer they used on your feet. On top of that, they are friendly and it's always easy to get an appointment. read more

I got a dip manicure here that started to chip after being exposed to my daily work routine in the dry school environment--only four days after getting it done. Absolutely terrible experience getting a no chip manicure. I went with my sister and she asked SEVERAL times for them to not cut her cuticles, but her nail tech (the man, don't remember his name) didn't listen so my sister felt faint since her cuticles were bleeding and had to put a pause on the manicure. For some reason, they switched our nail techs halfway through our manicures? So I ended up with the man and he did an absolute horrible job. My nails were rough on the ends so I him to smooth them out and he ignored me fully. My polish bubbled at the ends so it chipped within days. They clearly do not know what they're doing and don't listen to their clients. Also, I called to ask for prices when they said it was $30, but I was charged $35. DO NOT GO HERE read more
